The Tristones – First World Problems (Spotify)

The Tristones – First World Problems
(Spotify)

The Tristones, led by the energetic and charismatic blues rocker Tristan Clark from New York, NY, today releases, “First World Problems,” the second single from his upcoming album Camaro, out in April. The track was written by Clark and his good friend Jordan Venn, a frequent collaborator. “We had the idea of writing a first person narrative on how easy it is to get annoyed about social media and other trivial day-to-day events, but all with a sense of humour,” says Clark. The playful, upbeat tune addresses the anxieties and restlessness caused by living in a digital world, presented in a rocking, tongue-in-cheek tone. “I’ve got first order problems / of the first world,” explains Clark in the song.

Pedro Meirelles Interview on Nagamag.com

.

Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Pedro Meirelles:
Contemporary Classical, Minimalist Classical, Brazilian Classical

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Pedro Meirelles:
I’m a composer/producer from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I’ve loved classical music and rock my whole life, so, besides composing and producing my solo instrumental catalogue throughout the years as an independent artist, I’ve also worked at different projects with names from the rock world such as Andrew Scheps (Rick Rubin), Serj Tankian (System of a Down) and Gogol Bordello.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Pedro Meirelles:
Yes, getting in touch with the score of the movie “The Adventures of Chatran”, by Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, which I listened to for the first time when I was around 4. At the time, I got so obsessed with the film because of its beautiful and hypnotic synth music that I wanted to go watch it over and over again at the theater.

Nagamag:
Music has no borders and many of us we may listen to more genres that we are mainly involved. So share with Nagamag which track comes first in your mind from music but is NOT similar to your genre?

Pedro Meirelles:
Nirvana "Lithium"

Nagamag:
Of Course Nagamag would love to listen also which track from a similar artist you admire?

Pedro Meirelles:
Philip Glass "Vanessa and the Changelings"

The Non-Functional Saints – Make Me Human
(Spotify)

The Non-Functional Saints are Nick Lewis and Phil Minns. The name is a conjunction of their respective artist names.
Nicolas and the Saints is best known as a Brighton five-piece mixing jazz, blues, post-punk and hip-hop, but Lewis uses the name for solo productions as well. He also has a Viennese configuration based around acoustic instruments.
Non-Functional Harmony is Minns’ moniker for his own electronic productions. His work encompasses techno, ambient and downtempo, always with an organic feel and a musicality all too rare in the electronic scene.

Manon – Streams
(Spotify)

Manon paints landscapes for your ears. The palette of the singer-songwriter is full of contrasting tone colors: light and shadow collide in a universe that is as alien as it is earthbound.
Her pictures captivate with filigree lines, wide surfaces and powerful accents. Composed by Manon, the music unites infinity and intimacy and pulls away from classical structures. Sometimes the work floats slightly, the next moment it erupts like a volcano. Delicate melodies flow into menacing abysses. The result though, is always both organic and authentic.
The new songs were recorded by Manon at Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavik and produced with Francesco Fabris.

Edward Delsing – Remembering the Moment (Edit)
(Spotify)

Edward grew up in rural Canada. When he was young, his parents bought him a piano, which quickly became his favorite thing in the world. He became drawn to instrumental piano music by Chopin, Beethoven, Vangelis, Yiruma and others, and fell in love with creating music at the piano at an early age. Edward has been performing and teaching music for 20 years, during which time he has been honing his craft as a composer.

Edward has written many styles of music, but his current focus is on writing instrumental contemporary classical music. His piano music is sentimental, relaxing, stirring, often nostalgic, and his melodic style has been compared to Ludovico Einaudi, Nils Frahm, and Max Richter. Edward has piano recordings coming out on BandCamp and all music streaming platforms throughout 2019 and beyond, including his anticipated debut album, Suncatcher (July 2019).
