Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Obsqure:
I would say a mixture of downtempo, chill-out, some future garage vibes, Trip-hop with an oriental touch.

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Obsqure:
i had a few years of music theory when i was a kid. i also was a cello player. i didn't follow up the line because of my studies and sports. At some time i had to choose between being a professional swimmer and a musician. i went for swimming but i have never really stopped listening to music and digging very deep into it. i remember listening to different kind of music on the radio and trying to dismantle every track even though i wasn't into music composition yet, i had my own way of listening individually to the sounds and different tracks in a song. i was already analyzing songs structures and melodies without even knowing it.
i remember getting a trial version of FL Studio (Called Fruity Loops Studio at that time) in a CD-Rom. i was 11 years old and very curious. And that's where the story begins.
i went by different nicknames, the normal curriculum of any artist i guess, i composed different music styles mainly House Music and groovy stuff like Tech-House, Deep-House and Progressive House. i began afterward looking for a specific artistic identity and things lead me to what i am doing now.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Obsqure:
i grew up in a musical atmosphere, listening to vast amount of varied music. i am also brother to a music teacher and a nephew to a couple of drummers. i had to be in the music industry by any means.

Nagamag:
Most artists have a favorite song from a different music genre than the one they are producing music for... Which is yours?

Obsqure:
Reflekt Feat. Delline Bass "Need To Feel Loved"

Nagamag:
Of Course Nagamag would love to listen also which track from a similar artist you admire?

Obsqure:
Massive Attack "Antistar"

Padre Tóxico Interview on Nagamag

Categories: Electronica Features, Electronica Interviews, Features, Interviews, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , , , |

Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Padre Tóxico:
As my first love was hip-hop and 2nd electronica, therefore the outcome is often fusion of these two genres. But I don't like to keep only one direction. Very often during my recording sessions I sit down with an idea to make some hip-hop sounds and I finish with a minimal house or ambient joint. It might sound cheap but I follow my heart (or rather my ears).

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Padre Tóxico:
I have started in November 2019 having no experience at all, no much has changed since then :)
My only help what the fact that I through many years, have listened to thousands of different artists who composed various music genres. Thanks to that, I knew what I want to create.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Padre Tóxico:
Sure. I heard Snoop Doggy Dogg's "What's my name" on school corridor. That was the begining of my love for music. But I was a kid then, so it was mainly passive listetner. My urge to create appeared when I have started to consume music consciously and that began when I fell in love for the 2nd time - this time my chosen one was electronic music. Tracks from Jon Hopkins, Kiasmos, Stimming, Synkro, Lapalux, Aparde, Ross From Friends and Four Tet gave me natural high which has lasted till I bought my music gear.

Nagamag:
What is your favourite track off your "Mandala" album?

Padre Tóxico:
I would go with Dopamine Warmness and then Serotonin Reuptake.

Nagamag:
Do you plan to work with other artists?

Padre Tóxico:
Of course, I would love to. I already did "Summer in LA" with UK singer Pri. My dream is to make whole "Life Supplement" album a vocal fueled one - with a help from some hiphop and rnb artists, I hope one day that will happen.

Nagamag:
Most artists have a favorite song from a different music genre than the one they are producing music for... Which is yours?

Padre Tóxico:
Jon Hopkins "Open Eye Signal"

Nagamag:
Of Course Nagamag would love to listen also which track from a similar artist you admire?

Padre Tóxico:
Kiasmos "Bent" and "Burnt" I love them both the same

Nell Widmer
Interview

Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Nell Widmer:
My music style is very electronic, with house and RnB influences.

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Nell Widmer:
First of all, you have to know that I learned to sing alone, so since I was 9 years old I've been singing. I went on but this time I shared videos of covers of artists I liked a lot. And in 2018 I was contacted following my recordings on Soundcloud, and that was the beginning of writing in English and creating melodies. Since then, I released my EP 2 years later so in 2020 to be able to show all the different colors of my voice.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Nell Widmer:
The first connection with music dates back to my early childhood. I have always been rocked by the Black Eyed Peas and Michael Jackson and the very first time I sang was to music by Michael when I was 2 years old. So I think it's thanks to this musical culture that I've built up which has given me this desire to create and write.

Nagamag:
Most artists have a favorite song from a different music genre than the one they are producing music for... Which is yours?

Nell Widmer:
Valentino Khan "Better"

Nagamag:

The Rashomon Effect
Interview

Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

The Rashomon Effect:
Ambient electronic music with acoustic instruments

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

The Rashomon Effect:
I bought my first guitar when I was twelve years old and since then have played in metal, soul, folk and post-punk bands in Seattle, Los Angeles, Budapest and New York City. I’ve learned from many great teachers along the way. Around five years ago I started to make electronic music, which was a perfect fit since I love composition and sound design.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

The Rashomon Effect:
When I was around six, my mother gave me a set of tapes that told the life stories of great composers – Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, etc. I listened to them every night in my bed when I was supposed to be sleeping. That early love of music has never stopped evolving through styles and genres over the years. There is always more to know and more to discover. I’ve always loved meeting and playing with musicians from other countries and cultures, and the way music can circumvent the intellect and touch the heart. Music has always been deeply healing for me and in these times I am finding that aspect more important than ever.

Nagamag:
Most artists have a favorite song from a different music genre than the one they are producing music for... Which is yours?

The Rashomon Effect:
Charles Mingus "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat"

Nagamag:
Of Course Nagamag would love to listen also which track from a similar artist you admire?

Interview

Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Akkor is experimental/minimal electronica with influences from progressive, ambient and contemporary classical music. My main tools of composition are piano, synthesizers, found noises and field recordings.

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Akkor:
I hold a masters degree in Sonic Arts from Istanbul Technical University's Center for Advanced Studies in Music. I was a participant of the Red Bull Music Academy 2018, Berlin. Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Akkor:
In around 2003, when I learned about how Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall triggered country-wide protests of racial inequities in South Africa, I realized how big being creative and productive can affect the world and became passionate about it.

Nagamag:
You mentioned audiovisual performances, can you clarify this a bit?

Akkor:
I’m very excited about creating surround audio and composing for lighting systems to create sound and light performances that are in communication. Besides my solo works, I collaborate with artists from various disciplines to design site specific live stages for Akkor. Multi-channel audio surrounds the audience, I focus on this phenomenon and try to enrich it with the visual aspect of my live performances. I also collaborate to create artistic productions such as installations and video artworks.
