Vocab Slick – Atonement (Video)

Categories: Hip-Hop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

“Perhaps there is nothing that gives a sense of freedom, like the qualitative rhythms of hip-hop music. -Atonement- levitation is a real, pure euphoria. The very moment in everyone’s life, and for which the cost is worth living.”

“Пожалуй, ничто так не вселяет чувство свободы, как качественные ритмы хип-хоп музыки. -Atonement- это настоящая левитация, чистая эйфория. Те самые мгновения в жизни каждого человека, ради которых стоило и стоит жить. ”

Vocab Slick brings his blue-collar, working-man’s anthem to life in the cinematic new video for “Atonement,” which is also the latest single off his much anticipated next project, Language.

With director Evan Croker behind the lens, the Bay Area emcee shows off his acting chops in these visuals that center on the story within the verses. It tells the story of a hard-working artist who only gets the opportunity to hone his craft and share his art with the world after a long day of work.

In both audio and visual form, “Atonement” serves an incredibly relatable and touching narrative, and it’s one that’s never been more pertinent than today. It also doesn’t hurt that Croker’s vision is such a perfect match for Vocab’s rhymes, which just seem to float over the melodic Chef Boyz production.

The High Breed – Forgiveness (Video)

Categories: Hip-Hop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“Highly affecting Hip-Hop song with hidden power and deep meaning. The word “forgiveness” is usually connected with self-evaluation and error admiting. A useful message can be found in the lyrics here and this kind of music can really teach us how to behave better. Well done!”

-Nagamag.com

UK-based hip-hop collective The High Breed make their return to the scene with new single “Forgiveness”, their first release of 2021. The track showcases the collective’s unique hip-hop style, effortlessly blending conscious, relatable lyricism with hypnotic, trap-infused production alongside cinematic visuals that will no doubt captivate the audience. Having gained traction with a string of releases last year, such as “Star Dwellers” and “Meet the Gods”, and receiving support from BBC Introducing, the independent DIY collective are set to continue their momentum with this latest release.

“Forgiveness” starts with an organ-inspired synth that instantly connects you to the song’s biblical theme, with the rolling drums and piercing hi-hats giving the song the punch it needs to deliver its weighty philosophical message. Speaking more on the track, The High Breed say, “‘Forgiveness’ is an honest dialogue about what forgiveness truly means to the individual who has done wrong in a world full of self-denial. It is an expression and an acceptance of the ‘shadow self’, a vulnerable confession about the darker nature of our humanity and a poetic discourse on the morality of the human soul, highlighting the battle between virtue and temptation that no person throughout any age has ever been free from.”

Driving in their own lane, The High Breed are a much-welcomed addition to the conscious hip-hop scene and are clearly a force to be reckoned with both lyrically and visually. And with much more to come this year from the fast-rising collective, The High Breed will surely be an act to watch out for. “Forgiveness” is available to buy/stream now on all platforms: https://lnk.to/TheHighBreedForgiveness

El Gant, Ras Kass, Planet Asia – Chromed Out (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Hip-Hop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , |

“Wicked rhymes of Hip-Hop suddenly burst out of the speakers and alternate our reality status. El Gant is back and not alone at this time! The result is better than expected and burns like fire. Work with attitude and personal touch.”

-Nagamag.com

It’s been nearly seven years since his previous solo album, but El Gant is back with a banger of a new single, “Chromed Out,” featuring frequent collaborators Ras Kass and Planet Asia, over J57’s hard-hitting production with cuts supplied by DJ Jon Doe.

https://twitter.com/ElGant

To be fair, Gant hasn’t been completely quiet since 2014’s Beast Academy LP. For one, he’s one third of the Jamo Gang with Ras and J57, and they’ve dropped a number of acclaimed projects (peep 2020’s Walking With Lions). But with the release of “Chromed Out,” the NYC rap vet is back on his solo tip to get the world ready for his forthcoming new album, O.S.L.O., which is set to feature Killah Priest, Bobby J From Rockaway, King Magnetic, and more, as well as production supplied by the legendary DJ Premier and Marco Polo, among others.

Gant is fired up on this track, spitting equally ferocious and witty bars, like “I’m on a mission/ Half the caucasian rappers I came up in the game with done changed into Peter Griffin.” His two guests, Ras and Planet Asia, are on fire, too, with mean-mugging rhymes that complement J57’s head-nodding and raw instrumental.

“Chromed Out” is available now through all major digital retailers and streaming platforms. Be on the lookout for more info on O.S.L.O., which is due out in the fourth quarter of 2021 through Gant’s own Rule By Secrecy imprint.

Mad Circuit, LG (TEAM GENIUS), Sereda – MAMASITA (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , , |

“ A finely knitted swirling combination of styles blended to create a pleasant & coherent fusion of influences that at times breaks into a playful, joyful chaos. Hip Hop, R&B, Rap, Pop & Latin are expertly folded & mixed together by ‘MAD CIRCUIT’ both musically & lyrically. The vocals are sexy, funny, witty & good to listen to. Mamasita’s infectious rhythm will fill dance floors everywhere.”

-Nagamag.com

Breakout trio MAD CIRCUIT are set to break the internet. Comprised of three talented creatives in their own right– Sereda, LG (Team Genius), and JR came together to create the latest version blissfully chaotic MAD CIRCUIT at the beginning of 2021.

MAD CIRCUIT was the creative brainchild of acclaimed Norweigan producer Joachim “JR” Rygg and has seen many forms, iterations, and collaborations, culminating in an eclectic catalog of dancefloor-ready hip-hop. When acclaimed rapper LG (whose voice and lyrics have been heard across national placements for the likes of Hulu, Netflix, Disney+, and more) and billboard-charting vocalist Sereda (Twitch's biggest performing artist) joined the group, MAD CIRCUIT became a one-stop-shop for all your listening needs.

When their "My Fit" single went viral on TikTok and got a prominent sync in Mindy Kaling's hit Netflix show Never Have I Ever, the trio shot up viral streaming charts and have quickly become a sensation. With a social reach of over 500K and a staggering 16 Billion views of content featuring their music on TikTok, MAD CIRCUIT is bound to join the ranks of trailblazers like Doja Cat, Aurora and more in this wave of viral sensations.

https://www.instagram.com/madcircuitmusic/

The beauty of MAD CIRCUIT is what each individual brings to the table, successfully creating a melting pot of sound and culture. In the irresistible "MAMASITA," a rhythmic beat with a latin flair lays the groundwork for LG's captivating lyrics and Sereda's flirtatious vocals. With its winning combination of pop, R&B, and rap, this indomitable single is destined for superstardom.

Producer JR shares, "Sereda and LG are so different, but both are really cool, high-end voices that always flash new things. Each of their voices serve as two different ‘instruments’ I can use in the studio. LG boasts a strong hip-hop background while Sereda comes from an entirely different realm with her Spanish swag and sexy style of R&B and pop. But they both have this gritty confidence oozing out of them, which really brings it all together.”

MUDIE Interview on Nagamag

Categories: Features, Interviews, Rock Features, Rock Interviews, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , , |

.

Nagamag:
Which are the genres that describe your music style better?

MUDIE:
Grew up listening to glam rock and punk, but also really into hip hop and electronic music. Trying to write the best possible song, with the coolest melody, without copying anyone, while using orginal sound signature and still feel punk. Hard shit.

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

MUDIE:
Been playing in bands and writing music since 1999. Played more than 2000, released almost 40 albums, been around the world alot and still enjoy it.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

MUDIE:
I think Bon Jovi were the first people that i've seen and think '' damn, they're so cool, I wanna do this! ". I used to sing Bon Jovi songs in the mirror all the time and trying to look cool with sleeveless shirt, fake tattoos and sunglasses at a VERY young age, like 5 or 6. Feels pretty good to actually to this for a living, in a VERY smallest scale.

Nagamag:
What d'you do beside music for a living.

MUDIE:
I do art in general. I draw, I paint, I design stuff for other people. Write songs for other people, produce albums and beats. Write poems and articles. I like to create things. It's very cool for me to have numerous projects and go through them as time passes and realize I just did a bunch of shit that people can either love, hate or don't care about. I also organize a big punk festival in Montreal called Pouzza Fest. It's gonna be the 10th edition when we can do festivals again.

Nagamag:
What would have been your dream job besides making art ?

MUDIE:
Professional athlete. I was a pretty good hockey player and kind of got a shot at it, but looking back, i would have loved to be a baseball player. I like the slow pace of baseball. The camaraderie. The fact that you play outside, the beautiful stadiums and uniforms. Definately would have loved every second of it.

Nagamag:
Many artists listen to genres that they are not producing music for. Which track is your favorite that is NOT similar to yours?

MUDIE:
Omnikrom "Meilleur Gars"

Nagamag:
Of Course Nagamag would love to listen also which is the track from a similar artist you admire?

MUDIE:
Lost Love "Hell"
