After releasing his first single of the year, UK based singer-songwriter WEIRDO returns with a brooding, dark and eluding song ‘TRANSCENDENCE’, his second release taken from the upcoming debut mixtape/LP: ‘A MIXTAPE FOR HEARTBREAK’.
Accompanied by a sensational, surrealist and trippy 3D music video directed and created by Lucas Saidl and his visual collective ‘NotReal_Virtual’, TRANSCENDENCE sends you on an audial and visual journey through a broken relationship where love, betrayal, heartbreak and loss combine in an ethereal way.
Written, mixed and produced by WEIRDO in his Berlin based recording studio, a degraded drum beat joins forces with his signature nonchalant vocal style and a moody synth melody to result in a stunning “hit-repeat-again” track.
The song sets the scene for what’s about to come from his upcoming 10 track mixtape/LP, set for release in Autumn 2021.

BIO:
When first emerging from his home studio a few years back, WEIRDO, also known as Josh Christopher, started out by releasing a demo called ‘Disco’ via Majestic Casual’s YouTube channel which quickly spun up a fuss and amassed more than 1 million plays within a few months… he then disappeared.
He later re-emerged from silence by spontaneously releasing a pair of odd-pop singles named ‘BUTTER’ and ‘ARMANIO’, which both received #1’s on Hype Machine and Human Human.
‘SAPPHIRE’ was his next musical manoeuvre in which he collaborated with some musical friends; on drums Debbie Knox-Hewson (Charli XCX, Nasty Cherry) and on bass Pierre Leck. Renowned photographer James Perolls took press pictures for the release.
After a little more silent treatment, he dropped ‘ATTITUDE’ which landed on Spotify with a New Music Friday UK addition alongside support from Apple Music’s UK playlists.
Press came from some of the blogosphere’s most respected outlets such as W Magazine, Pigeons and Planes, DIY, Clash and Line of Best Fit.
Annie Mac announced WEIRDO in her New Names playlist on her BBC Radio 1 show whilst it was also included in the BBC Introducing Best Of playlist by Huw Stephens.
He took, yet again, another short hiatus whilst diving into the working life to pay the bills, make some new music for his other project IYES, and “grow up a little bit”.
Christopher, previously of indie pop duo IYES, had a Billboard Dance Club Chart #1 alongside being signed to Sony UK.
In 2020, he returned with singles EUROTRASH, FAKIN’ and some other B-side tracks.
BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders was the first to support alongside BBC 6Music, BBC H+W, Amazing Radio, Spotify’s Fresh Finds: Pop playlist, and online outlets such as Vice/Noisey, Wonderland, Complex and EARMILK.
His latest and first release from his upcoming mixtape/LP, ‘CAN’T WITHOUT YOU’, a song co-written with acclaimed hitmaker A7S, received praise on Spotify’s Fresh Finds: Pop playlist once again, from Apple Music’s NEW IN INDIE playlist and Anghami’s Alternative Pop playlist.
WEIRDO once again proved he is not just a flash in the pan and reignited the flame of media buzz for the third time.
WEIRDO defines his life experiences lyrically and sonically. He bounces between lo-fi production techniques (using vintage synths, putting sounds to tape machines and playing with random musical toys) and throws freshness and modern elements into the pot with electro-pop sounds.

Enigmatic Italian production duo Boulevard Tells have shared their electric new single, “Good Time”. Bursting on the scene just six weeks ago with their debut single, “Lose Myself”, which has quickly rocketed to over 100,000 streams (and counting), the independent act look set to have an even bigger hit on their hands with this latest release.
Formed by Matteo Berardi and Davide Berardi, the duo showcase the full range of their talents on “Good Time”, with the track spotlighting their sophisticated production skills, as well as their noticeable songwriting abilities – their knack for insanely addictive toplines can be heard on the track’s anthemic chorus. Equilibrium is a collaboration between a Lithuanian electronic music producer Rushkeys, who has recently received support from the Loci Records and Lugovskiy, who is based in Kiev, Ukraine and has releases on such labels as Nervous, Size Records and has been supported by the likes of Pete Tong and The Aston Shuffle.
Taking influence from such artists as George FitzGerald and Bonobo this organic house track conveys an equilibrium not only between the artists but also aesthetics of their productions and blends soaring, dreamy melodies with solid rhythmic groove and wicked dance floor sensibility.

Created in the confines of covid in their home studios in Malibu and Monaco, Nicolas Saad and Shawn Pereira dig deep into their soulful new style and Natural Affair arrived. just before Shawn returned from Monaco they had the pleasure of shooting with one of the top new photographers coming up Leslie Rodrigo. She came over to the hotel Beau Rivage and started clicking as the guys moved around the room. The energy was amazing and the shoot went very well. Natural affair is a deep melodic soulful track that came from the experience of love and the unexplainable energy that comes from falling and rising together. “Padi” is what “Buddy” is to an American, on the streets of Nigeria. it is a slang that connotes close friendship and fondness.
I feel being best friends is a key ingredient in romantic relationships so I wrote this song to celebrate that and i hope this will become a steady track for those who already have such friendship and also for those who aspire to such status.

Which are the genres that describe your music style better?
SAAH:
Neoclassical, contemporary classical, modern classical piano,

Few words about your musical background and career?
SAAH:
I was given an old piano at the age of nine. i immediately fell in love with that instrument(i actually wanted a flute, but I didn´t get one)
since then I loved to improvise and create little melodies.
i also had piano lessons for some years, but I always preferred to play by ear.
that´s why I decided not to study at the music university.
i played in bands and the last years I´ve been composing for theatres and I´ve been creating solo piano pieces in my tiny homestudio. Last year I won the European song writing award in the category: music for motion pictures. since then I´ve been releasing heartfelt solo piano songs. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to do what I love and to share my music with everybody who wants to listen.

Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?
SAAH:
I guess it was when i first heard some Tory Amos songs (i fell in love with her way to play the piano) and later i really loved the Keith Jarrett´s Köln concert (i was so impressed by the spirit and vibes of his free and harmonic improvising )

do you have any plans for the near future?
SAAH:
Yes, I have :)
I always desired to play outside in nature or in other special places with my stage piano.
...so I had a stunning handmade piano shell built by a very talented man and now (about 2 weeks ago) a wonderful painter completed this work with a very special and beautiful painting on the cover of the shell, that means a lot to me.
So from now on I will also share some little video clips from outside, playing on Juna (that´s my pianos name;) - it means the desired..... I am over the moon excited about that.
