Alega, Flackax – Brave (Official music video) (Video)

Categories: Blogwave, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“There’s just something about this song that gets to you. It has that feel, finesse and polish associated with global musical icons like U2, Duran Duran and others of that calibre and era. The sound & subject is current too, with exceptional modern day production techniques and brilliantly performed. It should be a massive hit ”

ABOUT THE ARTIST

It all started in January 2020 when Alega replied to a post that producer FlackAX shared on Facebook, looking for someone to collaborate with. The project was never planned. It developed naturally, without any pressure. “We still are going to produce and write for other artists. Right now we enjoy working together and helping each other develop as songwriters and producers”, says Alega. The collaboration has been very productive as they both have around 20 songs ready to be released.

In July 2020 Alega and FlackAX released their first collaborative single “Divina Requiem” which featured Signe Bødtker, a classically trained singer.

The next song in line was “You can leave my head now”, featuring the Swedish singer/songwriter Malin Simon. The song is in the genre of electro synth-pop dance, and was released in December 2020.

ABOUT THE SONG

BRAVE is about looking in the mirror and not seeing yourself, for who you really are. It’s about taking risks in life and believing in the power you have as a human being. It’s about taking a road trip with no destination. Discover something new about yourself and the world that surrounds us. Rising every time We fall.

The Shadowboxers | FLOAT ON BY | Official Lyric Video (Video)

Categories: Blogwave, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

“Classified as Synthwave ‘Float On Bye’ is actually a catchy, foot tapping, head nodding, hip shaking, blend of a multitude of genres. The lyrics are deep & cover the absurdity of inevitable results regardless of the desire to effect ones karma. A great tune that will get you hooked by verse two.”

“Float On By” Quote: “Float On By is a rumination on the unavoidable paradoxes of life and the anxiety of worrying about these things we can’t control. It’s the idea that ambition is ego. The moment you stop trying, you finally get what you need. So you might as well float in the river of life” – Adam Hoffman of The Shadowboxers

https://twitter.com/theshadowboxers

ALBUM QUOTE: “We’ve spent a decade in search of our identity, meandering our way through different styles and genres in hopes of landing on something that all three of us can see ourselves in. This is the album where we found it. We locked ourselves in the studio and didn’t come out until all three of us felt like we’d communicated our visions and seen them through. Just us. No one else. No one to hide behind or pass the ball to. We fought, we compromised, we faced issues that had been building up for a decade. And we came out on the other side with The Slow March of Time Flies By, our most honest work to date.” – Scott Tyler of The Shadowboxers

Barstool Astronaut – Phenomena (Video)

“Intricately interwoven sequences develop into a lush, full sound that in turn morphs into simpler themes, & then back again to an even bigger sound as instruments are added. A progressive ever changing composition full of creativity & experimentation. Ambient, melodic, percussive & at times cinematic. This track is packed with everything that makes Mike’s music so good to listen to.”

-Nagamag.com

Barstool Astronaut is instrumental music fueled with experimentation and built for space travel drawing from influences such as Four Tet, Little People, Bonobo, The Flashbulb, and many more.

Denver, Coloardo based producer Mike Larson Schneider started Barstool Astronaut after years of touring and session work as a drummer. Feeling a creative limitation behind the kit in bands (and with the schematics of the music industry in general), he picked back up his first instrument – piano – and started making instrumental electronic music with borrowed software and semi-blind ambition. After a few years creating music with no artistic limitations in mind, Schneider has carved out his own sound from the electronic-leaning genres of IDM, ambient, and instrumental hip-hop, often blending them with a layer of acoustic instruments, inspired by post-rock dynamics and composition.

Kowloon – Hurt (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Blogwave, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Soft electronic single from the Los Angeles artist "Kowloon". Inspired by his hometown he shows his talent with this organized production. Smooth and friendly sound waves. Warm and pleasant singing mood. All found in "Hurt".”

-Nagamag.com

First single from Kitsune Musiques upcoming Kitsune America compilation. Kowloon’s “Hurt” is a song inspired by Los Angeles in the 70’s - by the earthiness and honesty of the Laurel Canyon scene, and by the pop and lifestyle excesses that ultimately spelled its downfall at the close of that decade. It’s a song of the desert wind, of the twinkling lights of the Los Angeles basin, a song of the gently lapping waves at dusk. The gentle fender rhodes and fender vocals channel Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks, and the vulnerable lyrics owe her songwriting a debt as well. The bassline, however, comes from the nightclubs of the era - A pulsating disco throb that propelled the end of the decade into the excess of the eighties. It is a song about the validity of ones feelings, about finding strength, about setbacks and triumphs. There is a very Los Angeles feeling, when one is stuck in interminable traffic, on a hot afternoon. You learn to find a unique joy in this annoyance - you roll down your window, turn up the radio, and feel the breeze on your sweaty skin. Perhaps the song playing is “Hurt.”

Hurt was written, played, performed and mixed by Kowloon, and produced alongside Florida visual-artist and producer Offbeat Ninja.

Kowloon is a musician and filmmaker from Los Angeles, California. His debut album, ‘Come Over’, was written, performed, recorded and mixed in his home-studio in the industrial outskirts of the city. Blending vintage synths, drum machines, and bubbling bass lines with vocals inspired equally by The Talking Heads, Peter Gabriel, and Sly Stone, ‘Come Over’ is 35 minutes of danceable love songs - albeit love songs set in a time of digital malaise and looming ecological catastrophe, with anxious, dread-filled lyrics that are as timely as they are post-apocalyptic.

“A smooth velvety production, the song is catchy & current, both sonically & lyrically. The latter being a statement that we all have the right to be ourselves. The rich vocals are performed with an absorbing flamboyance & effortless ease. We think this has hit written all over it.”

-Nagamag.com

Lyrically, the song manifests the most essential right for any human being: the right to be themselves. Melodically, the debut single absorbed UFO-influenced electronic elements which are authentic to FFM and unique pop-oriented sound.

Kowloon – Hollywood is Under Water (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Blogwave, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Do you feel lazy today? Not willing to do much? Explore this new chilling work from "Kowloon"; a Californian musician and filmmaker. Dive into the cool seawater coming out from the electronic loops that lead you through a world of fantasy.”

-Nagamag.com

Hollywood is Underwater is a funky, feel-good indie rock transmission from the Post-Apocalypse. Part "Sledgehammer"-era Peter Gabriel and Part "Once In a- Lifetime" Talking Heads, this track slots nicely between Wild Nothing and Mac Demarco. The song is told by a lovelorn survivor on the sunken west coast of America. The bass line bounces, the synths bubble, and the relaxed vocal makes the End of The World sound like an ok place to be.
