“Prepare to dive into the world of classic House with Harvee. “Take It Back” recalls pleasant memories from the past and you simply cannot resist moving in its own rythm. Reccomented for your daily playlist.”

-Nagamag.com

Prodigious house music producer, Harvee, unleashes his latest single, ‘Take It Back’ on Glasgow Underground on 11th December. Label founder, Kevin McKay, who features on the release with an extended edit, made the Essex-born and bred youngster, the youngest ever artist to appear on Glasgow Underground at just 18 years old. Harvee’s future looks bright with releases on labels such as Fogbank, Juiced, Souluxe, and Play & Tonic, a spin from The Shapeshifters, and six Traxsource ‘Weekend Weapons’. Harvee’s uplifting house grooves show talent beyond his years and underline his status as a serious one to watch in 2021. Stream / download here: https://gu.lnk.to/TakeItBack.

Harvee, or Harvey Burry as he’s known to his mates, only celebrated his 18th birthday in August. Laying down his sticks as a drummer, some three years ago, Harvee turned his hand to production and released his first slew of singles in July 2020 on the likes of Fogbank, where he made a big impact with ‘For Fun’, which was dropped by The Shapeshifters at a sit-down, socially distanced at POW Brixton; the first time he’d ever heard his track in a club! This was a momentous occasion for the rising talent who had to Shazam it to prove to his mates that he wasn’t making it up!

Born into a musical family, Harvee was introduced to house music by his father, who himself released a few choice tracks back in the day as Back 2 Front. Says Harvee, “I’ve always been around music with my sister DJing in clubs in Ibiza and my Dad always loving house music. Hearing it played constantly is really what got me interested. I first started on Garage Band, which then lead to Logic around three years ago.”

Bitten by the bug, Harvee has upped his game from bedroom producer to a remarkable artist, crafting a steady stream of releases in 2020 with no fewer than six ‘Weekend Weapons’ on Traxsoure, including his remix of Makito’s ‘Purpose’ and ‘Tell Me’, both of which came on Souluxe Records.

His first single for Glasgow Underground, ‘Take It Back’, is an absolute gem with a clever use of disco samples and inspired vocals, helped along with some arrangement and production expertise from Kevin McKay. It cleverly straddles the divide between house and disco, with big strings soaring to the heavens while a funky bassline rolls down low. The warm drums are big hearted, and the vocal sample delivers emotion and feelgood vibes.

Glasgow Underground has a long running reputation for developing brand new and exciting talents, alongside working with legends of the scene, and this is further proof of that, coming as it does hot on the heels of a big new single from recent signings, Earth n Days. Alongside countless Beatport and Traxsource #1s, regular spots on the BBC Radio 1 shows of Annie Mac, Pete Tong and Danny Howard, and numerous releases with over 1million streams, this label really is an icon of the scene.

What better way to end a breakout year for Harvee than with his biggest single so far on an influential house label that has been making and breaking records since before he was born…

SeeMeNot – Chez Renee (Radio Edit) (Video)

Categories: House, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“We just couldn’t resist to comment on this one. Feel the energy flowing in your body, bringing the desire to dance! A fresh masterpiece with already enough followers.”

-Nagamag.com

SeeMeNot’s ‘Chez Renee EP’ is the second release from the hotly-tipped Jamaican-Canadian artist and musician, and features remixes from Joe Goddard. The ‘Chez Renee EP’, including Goddard’s full length and dub mixes, is released on 4 December, alongside another new SeeMeNot song, ‘If I Could’. Goddard’s radio edit is available from 20 November. Early DJ support for the EP comes from DJ T., Digitaria / TERR, Sam Shure, Rhythm Masters, Kiddy Smile, ONYVA, Roger Sanchez, Ferreck Dawn, Benny Benassi, Paco Osuna, Peter Kruder, Spada, Nicole Moudaber, BOg, xxxy, WhoMadeWho, Greg Delon, Dee Montero, Eelke Kleijn, Auntie Flo, Severino / Horse Meat Disco, Henry Saiz, Da Mike, Øostil, and more.

Tipped by Mixmag, DJ Mag, Beatportal, i-D, and more, SeeMeNot brings both purpose and protest back to house music. Her debut release, ‘Borderline’, came with remixes from Roman Flügel, and dropped in September. The world radio premiere came from Radio 1 (Pete Tong), with DJ support from Skream, Anja Schneider, Solomun, Adriatique, TSHA, Erol Alkan, Adana Twins, Monika Kruse, Andhim, Tim Sweeney, Chloé, Marco Carola, Digitalism, and many more.

‘Borderline’ was included on SeeMeNot’s first creative work, her July 2020 debut mixtape ‘Long Overdue: The Sound Of A Revolution’, along with an excerpt of Tamika Mallory’s powerful speech in the wake of the death of George Floyd. Released via her Soundcloud page, ‘Long Overdue’ featured SeeMeNot singing a cappella over a mix from DJ Oliver Baptiste. The 30 minutes of music is the sound of a Black female artist detailing the journey of Black people from Fight to Flight, channelling the pain she’s experiencing – and experienced – into something beautiful that pays respect to her ancestors but serves as a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional healing through singing and music. Influences from country music to gospel are joined through a shared history of hymnals as both protest and healing music.

About SeeMeNot:

SeeMeNot seeks to carve out new spaces for what is marketable and achievable within an industry that relies so heavily on the consumption of Blackness. A highly successful model from her early teens, in 2009, she suddenly found it hard to find work as a model in New York after appearing in the documentary The Colour of Beauty, a short exposé bringing to light the pervasive structural racism in the fashion industry during a time that it was not such a palatable conversation.

During this turbulent period, music became Renee’s coping mechanism and vehicle for self-expression. She began writing songs in a music studio in Yonkers, New York alongside a few friends who had suffered the same fate. The first song she wrote, ‘Some Of Me’, followed a similar structure to Azealia Banks’ 212. It was the electronic element of 212 that captured Renee’s interest in more dance music led production. Working with Jamaican sound-system and reggae DJs and producers shifted her style slightly but with the onset of debt caused by the recession and possible liability lawsuits due to the feature in The Colour of Beauty, Renee made the difficult decision to move back to her hometown of Toronto, and now New York. The last 4 years has been a time of healing and rehabilitation.

Arlø – Fall (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, House, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Clear sound with energetic mood that gets directly into your mind. A short break trip away from the everyday's routine. Quite possible that you 'll listen more than once!”

-Nagamag.com

Arlø of Tik Tok’s Cameo Club Goes Solo With Release of “Fall”

Dillon Scheel, the Deep House producer behind Cameo Club’s 2020 success, “Castaway,”

is launching a new solo project under the name Arlø. The track “Castaway” gained

momentum on Tik Tok last summer when it was featured in over 500 videos receiving

more than 8 million total views. It also amassed 2 Million Spotify Streams.

Arlø’s new track, “Fall,” carries the same dancefloor energy as “Castaway,” but contains

more of Dillon’s personal character. The song features Dillon’s own vocals, which are

honest and engaging, as well as soulful melodies and harmonies. As for his production,

Arlø offers tastefully crafted sounds that stand out from generic house production. “Fall”

makes you dance, but it also has real feeling. Its uplifting energy will elevate any party,

club, or event.

Arlø is using the COVID-19 lockdown as an opportunity to finish as much music as

possible. “It’s been kind of freeing to have no pressure on timing. I have been able to lock

into my creativity without feeling rushed.” “Fall” is the first of a string of singles he plans

to release in the coming months to establish his new Deep House brand.

BIOGRAPHY

Arlø is the stage name of singer/songwrtiter,

guitarist, and producer Dillon Scheel. Dillon is based

out of San Fransisco, California, where he grew up.

He is in his fourth and final year studying music

production at the Berklee College of Music.

Dillon trained as a jazz guitarist from the age of 10.

Then, while in high school, he developed a passion

for songwriting. He took inspiration from 70s pop

and disco artists that his parents were always

playing in the background. He really developed an

appreciation for the hits of artists like Stevie Wonder

and Earth Wind & Fire. Finally, at the age of 16, Dillon

fell in love with Electronic Dance Music after going to

the Outside Lands music festival in San Francisco.

Dillon brings his knowledge of jazz harmony and

his love for old school tunes to the modern dance

music scene. There’s a richness in harmony and

melody in every one of his tracks. His deep bass

production is a welcome contrast to offset the

catchy songwriting and it satisfies the listener’s

desire for that extra edge. The resulting

combination is addictive.

Arlø’s use of simplicity emphasizes the most

important elements of his productions: clear

vocal hooks and bass drops. There is a moment in

every Arlø track where the listener will stop and

ask “What song is that?”

Earth n Days feat. Terri B! -Walk On Water (Club Mix) (Video)

Categories: House, The Latest, Video|Tags: , |

“Without wasting time, on this club mix version of Walk On Water by Earth N Days featuring the soulful vocals of Terri B!, you receive the right dose of housey energy vibes as your house doctor suggests to keep happy and see things positive! There are no side effects than been on continues moving, the blend of sound layering is solid and mix is top! ”

-Nagamag.com

https://gu.lnk.to/walkonwater

Earth n Days return to Kevin McKay’s Glasgow Underground and serve up a vibrant new version of their brilliant ‘Walk on Water’ tune featuring star vocalist Terri B!. Initially released as their debut on the label in 2019, the exciting duo now update it for the clubs having already picked up support from the likes of Mat.Joe, elrow’s Toni Varga, Steve Lawler and Mark Knight, amongst many more. Stream / download the new single here: https://gu.lnk.to/walkonwater.

Earth n Days have had a huge year despite the obvious turmoil in the dance music world. They are currently Beatport’s #2 Artist ahead of big names such as Camelphat and Purple Disco Machine. They kicked the year off with their exceptional house take on the classic ‘Just Be Good To Me’ which took them to #1 in Beatport’s Top Track Charts and has remained a huge hit in the many months since. Rather than resting on their laurels, the duo have served up more goodtime house vibes on their own labels, Let There Be Jack and HouseU, much of which has dominated house charts across the board.

Despite only coming together for the first time in 2017, the pair have made a big and immediate impact with their energetic beats, warm bass and firing vocals. They have remixed Groovejet on Jungle Funk Recordings, served up tunes on Milk & Sugar Recordings and PornoStar Records, and their own much-loved Extended Mix of ‘Such a Good Feeling’ was a big hit on Glasgow Underground this summer. As such Glasgow Underground is now a real home label for the pair, and it’s a fitting one…

Kevin McKay said, “We released three of their tracks on Various Artist EPs in 2019 – ‘Rollin’, ‘Come With Me’ and of course, ‘Walk On Water’. I thought these records were brilliant and played them to death, but due to them not being so well known at the time, and partly due to timing in terms of their house sound, they didn’t really grab the attention of the DJ community. I felt that the year they’ve had meant there were loads of DJs out there who would love to know about these early killer cuts. So, I asked them to do a 2020 update of ‘Walk On Water’ to see if I was right…”

Few labels are as long running and influential as Glasgow Underground, with all house sounds covered from the eternal classics by Romanthony to the contemporary taste-making sounds of the boss Kevin McKay himself. Alongside countless Beatport and Traxsource #1s, regular spots on the BBC Radio 1 shows of Annie Mac, Pete Tong and Danny Howard, and numerous releases with over 1million streams; skilfully A&R’d acts like Earth n Days continue to push the label in new directions.

For the new release Earth n Days worked with iconic American vocalist Terri B!, who has been active since the 90s, topped the Billboard Dance Charts three times, and picked up huge airplay for tracks on labels like Milk & Sugar, Universal and Just B! Music, while sharing stages with the likes of David Guetta, Roger Sanchez and Thomas Gold just to name just a few.

‘Walk on Water’ feat Terri B! is built on vast, rubbery kick drums that set a fine groove while the warm chords bring the house heat. Terri B!’s vocal is the glossy icing on top – it soars to the heavens and will swell the hearts of all who hear it as the razor sharp drums drive onwards and upwards.

This is a perfect way to end the year for this ever more essential duo and is sure to be the standout tune in many New Year’s Eve lockdown sets as 2020 draws to a close.

Kevin McKay Reunites With Rozie Gyems On Stylish New Sade Rework

The Glasgow Underground founder and house mainstay brings more of his modern touch to this deeply emotive gem

Upfront DJ support from: Wankelmut, John Morales, Claptone, Tom & Collins, Moreno Pezzolato, Joe T. Vanelli, Midnight City, Marco Anzalone, Ordonez, Paco Osuna, DJ Dove, Robert Owens, Richie Hawtin, Larry Tee, Lexlay, Vanilla Ace, Steve Lawler, Simone Vitullo, Weikum, Severino, Chris Udoh, Mauro Venti

Glasgow Underground founder Kevin McKay links with vocalist Rozie Gyems to serve up another dancefloor gem; a lush house version of Sade’s essential 90s hit ‘Nothing Can Come Between Us’ out on 27th November. This lands as McKay sits at #3 in Beatport’s overall chart with ‘Work It’ and his label is awarded Beatport’s label of the month for December. It also follows his previous edit of Sade’s ‘Pearls’ (GU’s 500th release) as he continues to artfully revamp older tracks to make them accessible for modern club settings. The deep groove and cool contemporary edge of this sound has seen upfront DJ support on the latest single from respected names like Wankelmut, John Morales, Claptone, Robert Owens amongst many others.

McKay is still enjoying the success of his artist-focused, full-length DJ mix album ‘Summer Of Love’ which landed back in September. The 15-track collection featured tracks conceived, produced or remixed (or remixes commissioned) by McKay and was a fine reflection of what to expect from one of his in-demand DJ sets. Singles and remixes from the album including ‘Freak Like Me’, the Qubiko remix of ‘Save Me’ and ‘Gimme Gimme’ all hit the top 20 on Beatport and picked up millions of streams. Now with ‘Work It’ also riding high it rounds off a standout year for the much-loved producer.

From recording with Omid 16B as Sixteen Souls, to laying down essential DJ sets, to co-producing Mylo’s seminal album, ‘Destroy Rock & Roll’, McKay has a storied career and still, years later, keeps ahead of the game as this new single proves once more.

Says Kevin of his latest creation, “In the 90s and 00s there were a bunch of bootlegs of Sade’s most famous songs. One of the ones I loved was a house edit of ‘Nothing Can Come Between Us’ that chopped up the original over a steady beat. I recently dug out all my old vinyl, hoping I could play them again but, sadly, the sound of them just didn’t seem to work for now. That got me thinking about making my own version so I asked the team behind our amazing ‘Paradise’ rework to record two of my favourite Sade songs so I could reproduce them. After ‘Pearls’ sung by the brilliant Rozie Gyems featured on my album ‘Summer of Love’, this one, again with Rozie on vocals, reworks ‘Nothing Can Come Between Us’ in a deep house kalimba groove.”

Remaining sympathetic to the original while also layering in plenty of imaginative new sounds, the gorgeous ‘Nothing Can Come Between Us’ feat. Rozie Gyems is a brilliantly soulful deep house tune. The rich vocal hits an emotive sweet spot, the kalimba is bubbly and colourful yet warm, and the heartfelt drums drive things along at an inviting pace. This is the sort of life-affirming house tune we all need in our lives right now and is another timeless gem from this long-time house pioneer.

Once again, Kevin McKay brings his vast knowledge and love of house music to a fresh and tasteful rework of a much-loved classic.

“Captured from the strike of the first tinkering notes and the quality of the groove which keep developing into an endlessly fascinating song, with deep heartwarming vocals. The joint venture between Innellea and Nala Tessloff is the kind of downtempo electronica which seals the good ingredients of the genre, into a divine sound layering for please the listener. ”

-Nagamag.com

With a minimal asset of positive melodic lines and soft beats, mixed gently along with beautiful vocal stories which engage your daydreaming needs. Your need to make your life more happy and beautiful. An entrancing song which make you smile.

Innellea – a neologism; created in reference to musical reinvention. Neither restrained nor bound by conventions, Innellea’s visions and impressions are visibly transferred into music. Influenced by melodic trends in electronic music he combined the roots of Techno in a very creative way, and came up with his unique and abstract sound. He took the scene by storm and, having been amongst Groove Magazine’s best newcomers in 2017, left a dusty cloud in his wake. Shortly after, his tracks – with a focus on detailed rhythms – were being heard on the world’s finest stages, proving to be a secret weapon for many. As a result, productions on the Afterlife label like „Viglians“ or „The World Returns“ attracted artists. After massive releases, Innervisions being just one of them, fans around the world began to follow suit. Live sets with unreleased tracks created a global hype and underlined the diversity of Innellea’s sound. Whenever in need of driving spheres, impulsive vibes and melodic touches of genuine feelings – Innellea’s music will be there. Just in time to broaden your mindse
