Bartosz Szpak – Heim (Spotify)

“Heim by Bartosz Szpak opens like the soundtrack of a great mystery movie, beautiful sound crafted to tell the story through a good flow and while the keys deliver a melancholic tone the strings develop a tension for what it comes. A fine piece of neoclassical cinematic music. ”

-Nagamag.com

Bartosz Szpak shared with us few works about his new music: The third in a series of singles teasing my new solo album. This time, the search for new sounds led me through felt-muted piano, dissonance strings and vibrating, modulated synthesizers. Brilliant multi-instrumentalist Marta Zalewska participated in the recording sessions on violin and viola da gamba parts. I try to look for interesting style combinations, juxtapose distant moods and create a narrative vibe by moving between electronics, film music and the raw tones of classical instruments.

“-Martèn LeGrand- with his new solo piano -Fields Of Fallen Leaves- on PM Recordings invites us into a romantic confession with a hidden melancholic touch giving a wonderful sense of freedom like when you walk on through the falen leaves. ”

-Nagamag.com

Martèn LeGrand is the stage name of Dutch musician and pianist Maarten de Groot, born January 4, 1963.

After Martèn completed his degree at the Rotterdam Conservatory as a Hammond organist and music performance major in 1983, he began his career as a record producer for well-known international artists and bands such as Samantha Fox and Susan Snyder. Best known for her role in the soap opera As The World Turns, Martèn produced Snyder’s solo singles, also used in the popular serial drama as background music. By the same token, Martèn produced the Socaboy's hit song Follow The Leader, which became a number-one single in the Netherlands, topped the charts in the United States, South America and other European countries, and continues to be well played around the world today. Around this same period, Martèn also worked as a demonstrator and pioneer in the field of synthesizers at Roland Japan, based in Belgium.

In the decade to follow Martèn LeGrand composed and produced music for television and the film industry. He worked, among others, for the Dutch Broadcast Foundation (NOS) and the Dutch Evangelical Broadcasting association (EO), for whom he produced and composed a large range of music, including intros and performances for live television events. Martèn also played piano in a variety of bands, including East Coast, Time and Beethoven, and collaborated on various theatrical productions with singers Liesbeth List and Sandra van Megen – the last of which went on to accompany him at the Alliance Concours Française where they were awarded first place.

Around the turn of the century Martèn founded his own music studio, where he continues to work to this day. Free to determine his own schedule, Martèn’s newfound self-employment allowed him to finally integrate his other life passion: world travel. Filled with new insights and inspiration from his journeys abroad, Martèn reinvented himself as “the traveling pianist” and has since gone on to compose a wide variety of new work.

Saskatchewan, his recent solo debut album, is the first in a range of several released and upcoming piano albums. Inspired by his surroundings, Martèn named his debut album after the Canadian region of Saskatchewan, where he found himself enchanted by, among others, a small-town cathedral and the incredible natural world. A number of the tracks on his new album, songs such as Nipawin, Pinehouse and Beauval, are named after places where Martèn played while traveling. Martèn LeGrand strives to take his listeners on a journey, transporting them to beautiful and serene locations by way of his melodic compositions. Martèn LeGrand’s second piano album is released last year and is called Those Moments In Life. Currently, he’s releasing new piano pieces of his upcoming EP ‘The Fields’. With his piece Whitehaven, he’s made his music video debut recently.

Francisco Casarotti – Timeless (Video)

Categories: Neoclassical, The Latest, Video|Tags: , |

“A very emotive neoclassical solo piano which set us a memorable nostalgia, a cinematic scenery of been back at your old home, searching through dusted things, between many good but old memories and discovering your favorite music box. The one your mother was playing for you as child, your lullaby song. This is what we felt from this well performed theme by Francisco Casarotti. ”

Lisette – Technicolor Dreams (Acoustic) (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Sometimes it is hard to find music with a wide array of values and Technilour dreams is this specific occasion where a unique combination of dark alternative pop with orchestral instrumentation and balanced electronic production creates colourful cinematic soundscapes embraced by powerful poetical vocals ”

-Nagamag.com

Technicolor Dreams' is essentially a metaphor. In my own consciousness I conjure up these dreams and aspirations I want to achieve in my life, but I often get stuck inside my own head. These dreams are larger than life, they’re illusions in a sense. I have to remind myself to get out of my own head and bring these ideas to life or else they’re never going to happen. I can’t wait around daydreaming about what I want to achieve, I have to reach for it.

Blending elements of dark alternative pop with orchestral instrumentation and electronic production, Lisette creates colorful, cinematic soundscapes that are enhanced by her powerful vocals. She is a singer-songwriter born from early influences of rock, alternative, indie pop, and her love for classical music and film scores. Her music is comparable to the likes of Evanescence and BANKS.

She began writing songs at 15 and performed at music venues and open mics around her home state of North Carolina. While studying music business and popular music in college, she stumbled upon her love for producing. In 2018, she released her debut single Run This Far.

Lisette captivates audiences with her haunting voice and lyrical poetry that flows within her songs. Her debut EP Beneath the Surface released November 1st 2019. An acoustic version of the EP released October 16, 2020.

Tendra – Draumaland (Radio Edit) (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“In a hasty world it is often to overlook artists with a stark locality on their work. In this case Draumaland an Icelandic word of Dreamland we experience an infusion of icelandic folk music with electronic elements and heartwarming vocals receiving an enchanting result from a dynamic young duet ”

-Nagamag.com

The song "Draumaland" (transl. Dreamland) is a composition of Tendra's guitarist Mikael Máni Ásmundsson with lyrics by vocalist Marína Ósk. The two have worked together since 2014 in various projects but have now created the concept of Tendra around their composed music. Tendra is an Icelandic word which means "to light a spark".

The song Draumaland, with lyrics in Icelandic, is about the moment when the night slowly enters the country and the Icelandic nation, almost simultaneously lays down and drifts off to sleep. Iceland is a small country and with the whole country sharing the same time, they are all connected in a way. The heart of the song also speaks to the core of the Icelandic nation but as a whole, they support each other and when in need, they put their backs together and create a strong front. Even living abroad, they find each other.

Draumaland is the third single released from Tendra's upcoming debut which is to be released on CD, vinyl and online platforms in November 6th 2020.
