But ends with clarity being restored. It’s never easy going through a breakup, especially when there was so much love. But you can’t hang on to a feeling that has faded.”

Jesse Royal releases the music video for “Rich Forever” featuring dancehall’s self-proclaimed “World Boss” Vybz Kartel. The latest single from his anticipated second album Royal, out June 11, 2021 via Easy Star Records, carries the message that riches do not only reside in physical objects, but in hard work and faith.

https://orcd.co/richforever

Directed by Xtreme Arts, the video portrays Jesse Royal as King Midas, where he turns rags to riches through his touch. Xtreme explains, “We both collectively with Romeich came up with the concept of the Midas touch. Midas touch is simply uplifting someone’s life with a single touch. Everyone deserves to look and feel like they are the best at their job or who they are as a person. We all are rich in some way, not just money but mostly, in love.”

Jesse explains “the song is a conversation about the restoration of our royalty, reclaiming dignity. We must always be our brothers’ keeper and you don’t leave your brother in the mud. You remind your brother of who he is, not who they tell him to be, not who he sometimes might want to be. But who he is! We are all carefully crafted creatures of the universe and there’s nothing that can hold us back. We’re rich forever.”

The video was shot in the hills of Kingston, Jamaica and features cameos from dancehall star Popcaan and reggae contemporary Protoje, who is also featured on “LionOrder” from Jesse’s upcoming album.

Jane Jensen – Tikkun Olam (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, The Latest, World Music|Tags: , , , |

“From the Album ‘Enchant’ by Jane Jenson ‘Tikkun Olam’ is a Hebrew phrase meaning “Repair the World.” Delivered with an almost therapeutic repetition in a middle-eastern style, the vocals are soothing, engaging.and somewhat addictive. The experience is intended to reduce anxiety and heal the mind & body. A gem of a track from a deeply spiritual album.”

The new album is titled Enchant. It is a pure audio fantasy. It is intended to be a brain massage and a break from reality. It is for deep chilling and escape. Mostly, it is the repetition of a few words in either Aramaic, Sanskrit, Tamil or Hebrew - languages that have no distracting emotional baggage - it's more about having a therapeutic experience, healing from injury, staving off anxiety and the ever-lurking, waiting in the wings, depression.

Jesse Royal, Stonebwoy – Dirty Money (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, The Latest, World Music|Tags: , , , |

“The new song of -Jesse Royal and Stonebwoy-, creates a unique atmosphere with its melted carefree rhythm of reggae. Such a release proves once again that good music is a special kind of art for the ears and soul too.”

“Уникальная песня от -Jesse Royal и Stonebwoy-, с не менее уникальной атмосферой, в которой плавится размеренный ритм беззаботного регги. Подобный релиз в очередной раз доказывает, что делать музыку для души тоже, что и создавать искусство.”

-Nagamag.com

Jesse Royal teams up with Ghanaian Afrobeat/Dancehall star Stonebwoy for “Dirty Money,” where a lilting African-influenced rhythm track propels the lyrics’ unrelenting condemnation of political greed: “If education is key, why you can’t make it free for we? Or is it because you profit from poverty? When you look at me do you see a man or do you see another vote for your party? Not even holy water can clean your dirty money.”

The track is the latest single and fourth release from Royal’s upcoming sophomore album, Royal, due to come out June 11 via Easy Star Records. The single follows "Rich Forever" which had an accompanying video premiered by The FADER this week. The new song “Dirty Money” features a cross-cultural beat, co-produced by Grammy-award winning producer Sean Alaric (responsible for Koffee’s “Throne” and Teyana Taylor’s “Bad”) and Jesse himself and captures the sounds of Jamaica and Africa.

The album title Royal describes the quality of music he’s making but also offers a succinct definition of Jamaica’s signature beat. “Reggae is a different tone, a different feeling, a different mood. It speaks to you in different ways, it is definitely royal music,” says Jesse. Jesse adopted a new approach for creating the songs on Royal, collaborating with like-minded colleagues and just letting the creativity flow. The result is 11 tracks that incorporate live instrumentation and programmed riffs, experimental and traditional sounds, all of which contribute to Jesse’s most impressive body of work to date. The messages delivered throughout Royal are militant yet divinely inspired, profoundly moving and politically provocative, while the album’s multi-textured sonics are rooted in reggae but also incorporate a 21st century burnished palette of influences.
