“This will be a huge track that will be on every radio station and on every dance hall DJ’s playlist this summer. Superbly produced, expertly arranged, and full of beautifully symphonious vocal harmonies & orchestration, that blend seamlessly with the punchy, percussive makes you want to dance beat. ‘Fever’ by Arena is a well-balanced winner.”

After picking up his first guitar at the age of 10, Joey Arena knew there was no “Plan B,” music is his purpose. Making friends with the road at the age of 17 and living one night at a time, the stages grew bigger as did the fans along the way. Arena grew up in a city of arts, Rochester, NY. The home to household names such as Lou Gramm and Steve Gadd; a geographical foundation in which he’d build a music career.

Mental Minority is a one-man electronic music project from Bremen, Germany. I´m creating music under this name for more than 20 years now, for the last nine years mostly in the Synthwave/Retrowave genre – often melancholic, sometimes light-hearted and sometimes dark, always trying to avoid the too obvious cliches of the genre but keeping it more…personal.

My music was featured by almost all the influential Synthwave channels on the web like New Retro Wave, The Prime Thanatos, Luigi Donatello, The 80s Guy…

Njordlyd 'Circles' is a magnificent mellow yet dark ride
Njordlyd is a Danish musician and producer of thoughtful and mellow musical landscapes, organic compositions, and harmonies, combined with experimental rhythms and microsounds.

here is a long story to this track. It all started with a combination of a few sounds, which to me has a sort of “circling” effect. However, the sounds also reminds me of a magnificent “Circular Ride” (dark ride) from an Amusement Park in Copenhagen (Denmark) called “The Flying Trunk" (in Danish: Den flyvende Kuffert) and consists of a “continuously-moving” chain of vehicles (trunks). During the ride, the visitors pass several scenes displaying/depicting fairy tales from H.C. Andersen. The beginning and the end of the track resembles boarding and disembarking.

Everything in between resembles various “scenes” or “rooms”. How the “scenes” or “rooms” are interpreted is entirely up to the listener and is not necessarily meant to resemble the fairy tales from the “Circular Ride”.

I have an emotional connection to this track. Tivoli is a place I visited pretty often with my family. The attraction opened in 1993, the same year my mother was diagnosed with cancer. She died in August 1995, and this attraction is one of many strong memories connecting to her. This was not really what I imagined at the beginning of the process of making this track; however that is how it developed. Recently featured in the Songwriters Music Journal

80 Bubbles – Beyond Recall (Official Pre-release Video) (Video)

Categories: Blogwave, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“”Beyond Recall” has that favourite Synthwave taste of vintage ’80s style. Deeply sentimental song full of heartwarming lyrics. The artist works solo and inspired by sad feelings of a broken heart. Worthy music with personal attitude that has nothing to do with typical compositions.”

-Nagamag.com

80 Bubbles is a solo production of European singer/producer SilkZ. After participating in several indie genre groups now a debut single is out in 2020 with synth pop, slightly retro music style. First song Beyond Recall is reflecting feelings of breaking up with its sad, “hard to understand and let go” mood. The producer’s earlier songs are also usually touches sensitive topics like separation, loneliness and gloomy moods. The European composer is playing on several instruments however it’s mostly synthesizer based music with nostalgic taste of the 80’s embedded. The production’s name – “80 Bubbles” is also referring to this very special 80’s music era in which mysterious and heavy-hearted synth music was very common even in main stream hits.

“Synthwave piece that can become a playlist part of everyone who loves special, lamp mood. While lstening to the single -Great Wide World- your mind is transferred to the distant '80s, whose echoes of neon era still wander in the subconscious.”

“Synthwave стал неотъемлемой частью коллекции каждого, кто любит особое, ламповое настроение. При прослушивании сингла -Great Wide World- создаётся чёткое убеждение, что твоё сознание перенесено в далёкие 80-ые, чьи отголоски неоновой эпохи до сих пор блуждают в подсознании слушателей. ”

The Shadowboxers | FLOAT ON BY | Official Lyric Video (Video)

Categories: Blogwave, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

“Classified as Synthwave ‘Float On Bye’ is actually a catchy, foot tapping, head nodding, hip shaking, blend of a multitude of genres. The lyrics are deep & cover the absurdity of inevitable results regardless of the desire to effect ones karma. A great tune that will get you hooked by verse two.”

“Float On By” Quote: “Float On By is a rumination on the unavoidable paradoxes of life and the anxiety of worrying about these things we can’t control. It’s the idea that ambition is ego. The moment you stop trying, you finally get what you need. So you might as well float in the river of life” – Adam Hoffman of The Shadowboxers

https://twitter.com/theshadowboxers

ALBUM QUOTE: “We’ve spent a decade in search of our identity, meandering our way through different styles and genres in hopes of landing on something that all three of us can see ourselves in. This is the album where we found it. We locked ourselves in the studio and didn’t come out until all three of us felt like we’d communicated our visions and seen them through. Just us. No one else. No one to hide behind or pass the ball to. We fought, we compromised, we faced issues that had been building up for a decade. And we came out on the other side with The Slow March of Time Flies By, our most honest work to date.” – Scott Tyler of The Shadowboxers

Peter Aries Interview on Nagamag

Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Peter Aries:
I'm quite "genre-fluid", but I mostly identify myself with electronic genres such as synthwave and trance, which is why I chose "This is the 80s" as my signature track. I do however mix in other genres, and have been incorporating quite a bit of classical themes in some of my tracks. Which for me made it feel quite natural to try out a classical only themed release. Thus "Stories" came to be.

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Peter Aries:
I've been playing the piano since I was 10 and I started making music on the family's first computer when I was 14 (I used Fasttracker back then). My first official (or known rather) release was in 2006, an EP called "Finally" which was only released on CD. Since then I've released over 100 tracks in various genres and styles. I've mostly worked by myself, but I have also made some collaborations with artists such as MarsTv and Social Ambitions. My most streamed track of all times is currently "When All Things End", a collaboration I did with the very talented vocalist and artist Karin My. She has recently released a new album, so definitely go check it out.
Unfortunately the music doesn't pay the bills yet, so I work as a product manager as my daily job. I have great colleagues and it's quite a challenging job. I still feel like I learn new things every day. However, if money was not an issue, if I'd have to choose occupation between music creation and product management, music would win every day of the week. :)

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Peter Aries:
For sure. It was at my day care, when I was 4 or 5 years old. Someone played Super Mario Bros 1 on Nintendo while at the same time someone else played something on a keyboard in the room. I thought the sounds I heard were so incredibly cool that it sparked something within me. So there and then I knew I just had to play the synth when I got old enough. So it's my one true call in life you could say.

Nagamag:
Most artists have a favorite song from a different music genre than the one they are producing music for... Which is yours?

Peter Aries:
Vangelis "Tears in Rain"

Nagamag:
Of Course Nagamag would love to listen also which track from a similar artist you admire?

Peter Aries:
Pylot "The Return"
