Georgia Cécile is at the helm of an exciting new wave of UK female jazz talents, however her new single ‘He Knew How To Love’ sees her explore a more broader pop sound. The track comes with a beautifully crafted music video by Rianne White as the two pair up with PRS Women Make Music Foundation (to increase the profile of women, trans and non binary artists who are creating new music in the UK). This November she will be opening the prestigious London Jazz Festival, off the back of dropping her debut album in September.

One of UK Jazz’s hottest new prospects, Georgia Cécile is at the helm of an exciting new wave of UK female jazz talents. Tipped as ‘One To Watch’ by BBC Introducing and Jazzwise Magazine, Cécile’s stock has been rising on the strength of her live performances and her songwriting partnership with award-winning pianist/composer Euan Stevenson. She has an accessible approach to jazz (with pop to soul influences) which is key to her crossover appeal as she cites contemporaries such as Celeste, Melody Gardot and Gregory Porter as influences – as well as old favourites like Stevie Wonder, Sarah Vaughan and Nina Simone.
Her new single ‘He Knew How To Love’ is perhaps her most accessible release to date, as the jazz-flavoured beginning builds into a full blown pop ballad at times. As a piano guides the instrumentation, a cinematic soundscape of strings help create pictures with sounds, as the track ebs and flows, mirroring the ups and downs of life. As her vocals take centre stage, Georgia recounts stories of her father’s love and devotion through the years, as she takes stock of her journey into womanhood. Georgia explains the personal message within:
“This song is my most personal as it was written about my Father. I wanted to capture the essence of him – his presence, spirituality, and the ways in which he nurtured and shaped my world and how his personal sacrifices allowed me to pursue my dream.”
“The fruition of those dreams are felt in the song too; moments of self-realisation and the journey of evolving through adolescence into womanhood. It is my hope that others feel moved and empowered to realise their destiny.”

About the music video: In collaboration with Scottish film director and choreographer Rianne White, the pair have delivered an elegantly rich and movie-like music video to accompany the release. Rianne has gained recognition as one of the UK’s most exciting young film directors, having directed films with Young Fathers, Ellie Goulding, Aurora and Kate Tempest. This project, supported by PRS Woman Make Music, marks the unity of two young women at the height of their creative ambition – bringing female collaboration and support to the forefront of not only their personal but collective visions. *press release attached for more info.
This year, Georgia marked International Women’s Day by performing live for the BBC’s Jazz Nights show and she was included in Jazzwise’s ‘Women In Jazz’ feature that day. Also around that time, her single ‘Always Be Right’ was featured by Wonderland Magazine, and was playlisted on Jazz FM. ‘He Knew How To Love’ is the second single taken from Georgia’s debut album which is due for release early September. In November she will be opening the prestigious London Jazz Festival with the Guy Barker Orchestra and will be recording at Abbey Road this summer.
Previously, her track ‘Blue Is Just A Colour’ premiered on BBC Radio 2’s Jamie Cullum show, following sell-out shows at UK jazz festivals including Cheltenham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London. She was championed by The Scottish Sun, The Herald, The Scotsman and The Sunday post after picking up ‘Best Vocalist’ at the 2019 Scottish Jazz Awards and a nomination for ‘Vocalist of the Year’ at the prestigious 2020 Jazz FM awards.

Jordi Forniés is a Spanish musician, composer, and visual artist based in Singapore. His works are characterised by a continuum between tender overarching refrains and defined sequences with increasing momentum. Always contemplative and expansive in nature, his compositions draw on neoclassical and ambient electronic music. Forniés composes for piano, strings, and small ensembles, working with studio recordings alongside electronic elements.
A classically trained pianist since childhood, educated at Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Vila-seca in Spain, Forniés returned to music study in 2017 gaining an MFA in Music Composition and Orchestration at Chichester University in the UK. He is a member of the Composers Society of Singapore.
He has often worked in collaboration with others including Bouvaque with photographer and filmmaker Han Sungpil for which Forniés’ created a piano and string quartet score. He has composed for films including Caroline Fink’s epic documentary about the receding of the largest glacier in Switzerland, Aletsch: Of Ice and Men, 2016, and made music for documentaries and video installations with Gitta Gsell. He also worked on Yan Wang Preston’s major project Mother River, which was exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 2015.

The collective was formed as a musical group that produces original songs in multiple languages, within the genres of Funk, R&B, Dance, and Pop among others.
Sarah Maison has transported her magnetism and multifaceted creativity within multiple and varied musical universes: with Lenparrot (in their duet on “Paladines”); in the “Hommage à Léo Ferré” project with La Souterraine, alongside Pépite (for “Sensations” Remix); or even in the company of Anoraak with whom she offered in 2020 the seductive electro-disco song : “Gang” and its unstoppable widely welcomed groove.

theMVP is truly an artist that displays resilience for life. Born and raised in the working-class state of Rhode Island, the early life for theMVP was a downhill ride with the brake line cut. Known as a battle rapper and a non-stop freestyler that had to be pulled away from the mic. Although the hunger and skill was evident issues with the law, drugs and alcohol, money, keeping a job, and having a place to live kept this MC from being able to fully focus on hip-hop. After back to back life changing events in 2008 theMVP made a decision to change the way he lived, these life changes relocated him to Miami, FL. However, the attempt to blend into “normal lifestyle” and pretend he could live and function in Corporate America drove theMVP into a massive relapase on drugs and alcohol, which ended with him in rehab 2 times. After getting discharged from rehab in 2018 theMVP was attempting to build a independent business, after a meeting with a local film artist, he played a instrumental beat he made for theMVP to show him, this turned into a freestyle session that impressed the artist, the freestyle landed theMVP a spot in a local studio in Richmond Heights neighborhood of Miami. After recording 30 demo songs theMVP took the songs to many professional producers to turn them into official songs. After inspiring Yeyo787 owner of Trapical Music, grammy nominee and ASCAP awarded artist, the two teamed up to make theMVP’s debut album Blood on the MIC.

Initially based out of Portland, OR, Teulu found an obsession with the rawness of the rich, dense forests of the pacific northwest. In these forests came those extended moments of solitude and solace. It was during these nomadic excursions that Teulu realized he had more to offer than drumming for a variety of different indie rock projects. From this, his vivid thoughts and feelings started to transform into their own compositions.

Forward thinking LA and UK based producer Kan Wakan has just released his brand new single ‘Shining Bright Truth’. The single is the second installment from his upcoming Album Phantasmagoria, Vol.2.
Opening with a meditative hum and steady drumbeat that feels almost instinctual, “Shining Bright Truth” is a compelling and personal collaboration from Kan Wakan, featuring Rachel Fannan. Fannan, known for her work with UNKLE and Pussy Riot, lends her smoky and emotive voice to the song. Kan creates a complex and unexpected soundscape that engulfs the listener into this mystical journey about an alluring stranger.
When explaining the lyrical context of ‘Shining Bright Truth’ Kan explains that it’s “A note to self about acknowledging the occasional tendency to be insincere with oneself and wander down a delusional, parallel reality.
