“Acoustic, delicate, sythesis with soft melodic patterns. Sit comfortably on your bed, close your eyes and concentrate on that heartwarming voice. The ultimate relaxing song, which cannot leave you unaffected.”

-Nagamag.com

Stockholm based A Crystal Clear Moment drops the debut album Arms Remain Open. The mix of radio-ready and feel-good singles juxtaposed against dark melancholy tracks makes it a retro-modern pop album with LP format dynamics and a meaningful story to tell. The beautiful piano ballad Close My Eyes was released all without promotion before ACCM signed with ALOADED on PR. It truly deserves a better fate and a new chance for the album release next week!

A Crystal Clear Moment was founded by Stockholm’s Rickard Abrahamsson. By his side he has an acclaimed collective of musicians, engineers, designers, directors and cinematographers. The debut album Arms Remain Open due March 26 has a strong sense of finding inner peace and being true to yourself.

The first single Close My Eyes is a low key piano ballad and When You Were Young is an upbeat radio-ready single with an energetic synth bass. Once Again is a roadtrip soundtrack under a hot California sunshine and A Better Day is a groovy love story dressed in denim tailor-made for American radio. The rest of the story adds a darker melancholy and creates an album dynamic reminiscent of traditional albums like in the old days. It tells a story.

With its female lead vocals from starlet Harper Diaz, ACCM is musically connected to artists like Sheryl Crow, Taylor Swift or Shelby Lynne. These iconic women all display the mix of moods that range from bright, sunny and radio-ready to dark, moody and melancholic. It’s hard to believe ACCM is a Swedish project. The final touch was a supreme mastering in New York by legendary Scott Hull who has worked with Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, David Bowie and many more.

“The composition titled -Fall Asleep- has a unique feature; it opens the door to parallel worlds, where a heart beats in the rhythm of classical music and the inimitable voice of -Leila Milki- make us feel like Alice in Wonderland.”

“Композиция -Fall Asleep- обладает уникальным свойством, - она открывает двери в параллельные миры, где фонтаном в грудь бьёт классическая музыка, а неподражаемый голос -Leila Milki- даёт почувствовать себя Алисой в Стране Чудес.”

This song plays out like an orchestral dreamscape, a hazy lullaby. I created it as an extension of Women's History Month (with a team of women), as a daughter of Lebanese immigrants navigating my independence in a new world. It showcases my vocal + classical-piano performance, along with an unfurling string quartet. It's meditative, romantic, and mysterious, with dark-meets-light + Arab-fusion influences.

"Fall Asleep" explores the vulnerable push-and-pull of asserting our femininity and confronting danger for the first time, when we've been taught to stay silent + keep the peace. Through this cinematic ballad, my hope is to champion visibility for fellow first-generation daughters of immigrants whose dual-identity limbo often intensifies our experience of early adulthood.

Innocenzo Genna – The Evolution of Things (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“-The Evolution of Things-, a piano highlight in the world of neoclassicism. Absolutely harmonic and melodic minimalism. The sincere, kind-hearted tale of -Innocenzo Genna-.”

“-The Evolution of Things- фортепианная изюминка в мире неоклассицизма. Откровенный минимализм, гармоника и мелодичность. Искренняя, душевная история от -Innocenzo Genna-.”

-Nagamag.com

Artist shared few words about this song with our magazine:

"This music was composed long time ago, in 2013. The inspiration started during a snowing night in Belgium, while returning from a very good jazz concert in Leuven (Bollani and others). I was inspired by some notes I heard during a performance and I kept them in my mind. During the night I started to compose and then it took some months to complete the entire piece. In the meanwhile, while trying to finalize the music, I was impressed by the news coming from Istanbul, namely because of the people protesting against the destruction of the Gezi Park, with the following brutal repression by the State security. The entire event let me think about how things evolve in life, and how everything is unpredictable at the end. "

Innocenzo Genna, called also Inno, has always lived music in multiple dimensions: as a musician, firstly performer and entertainer, and then composer, but also as a technology scholar. His interest in music is not only artistic and emotional, but also professional, because for years Inno has been working in the Internet and technology sector as a lawyer and policy expert, so as to be involved in the major political debates concerning music and technology: from P2P to online piracy, from online platforms to the liberalization of collecting societies, up to the recent European copyright reform.

Such an intense professional activity enriched Inno’s musical vocation, while adapting his classical practice with modern and pop piano, blues and jazz, so as arranging the various genres into a personal compositional style. The many trips in Italy and abroad have contributed to creating the context of images, memories and fantasies from which his compositions are born.

In 2007 Inno settled in Brussels where it found new creative inspiration through the contact with the dynamism and the international ésprit of both capital city and European institutions, the creative Belgian surrealism, and also because of the rainy and melancholy climate of the place. In 2016 he completed his first collection of piano compositions "Brussels Stories", while a second CD is scheduled to be released in 2020.

The piano compositions of Innocenzo Genna fall within the categories of minimalism and modern classic, with frequent combinations into blues and jazz. He is similarly conservative as a composer, for his music drawing heavily on harmonic and melodic practices found in 18th and 19th-century European compositions. His repertoire is freely accessible through his website and social networks such as Youtube and Soundcloud, while being available also on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Deezer.

Sophie Hutchings – Love & Keep (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“Delicate composition -Love & Keep- from the eponymous single. Like a bunch of white flowers that shatters into our wounds, healing them. Beautiful classic sound from the charming -Sophie Hutchings-.”

“Нежнейшая композиция -Love & Keep- с одноимённого сингла словно гроздью белого винограда рассыпается на наши раны, заживляя каждую из них. Прекрасное классическое произведение от очаровательной -Sophie Hutchings-.”

-Nagamag.com

Sophie Hutchings is an Australian composer who flourishes in an outdoor lifestyle. She embraces and thrives in both the calm and sometimes chaotic aspects of nature. Sophie is slowly working towards the release of her Love & Keep EP. The EP brings tranquillity into an uncertain space and looks at the value life and friendships can bring no matter what you are facing. The two segments released so far came in the form of the softly nostalgic injection, Elysian Days and Not Alone. Both hold similar qualities of appreciation and connection. The third injection, also named Love & Keep, nods in solidarity to world sleep day. As an insomniac, Sophie embraces the calm that her music expresses. As she’s learnt more and more about her insomnia, Sophie utilise this routine it to aid her nighttime rituals.

"I guess it's just allowing time to contemplate, reflect and breathe, to free us of extra anxiety to what has already been brought upon us and to not feel alone in that"

Instead of leaning towards the (arguably) traditional outlets of a teenager, Sophie grew up drawing on the mindful, meditative benefits of the ocean and the environment around her. It came naturally to Sophie to weave elements of this medicinal effect through her work. When Sophie wasn’t riding the waves, or absorbing the changing scenes of the horizon, Sophie was thrown into her Father’s vast jazz collection or her older brothers’ love of heavy indie rock.

Although creating, crafting and tweaking her music comes naturally, Sophie prefers to work internally, immersing herself in sound, rather than launching herself into the world of the stage. Her music has been described by The Guardian as holding “an intimate contemplative quality; sometimes melancholic, often with an exhilarating beauty.” Having amassed over 80 million streams on Spotify alone, Sophie has crafted her trademark sound and has collected accolades that include a play on Jorja Smith’s Tearjerker podcast as well as support from 6 Music, Radio 1’s Chillest show in the UK and ABC in her home country, Australia.

"Though it initially felt like a challenge, once I got going the experience became unique doing something opposite to the routine of others. It was peaceful, like a moment in time had stopped and I was documenting that moment."

Love & Keep is a body of work that exposes a profound self-discovery journey that analyses connection, embracing the unpredictable, sometimes volatile, nature of the world, and how sleep is fundamentally intertwined in everything we do. Recorded in the dead of night, this six-track EP looks at the sometimes expanse of sleep as a quiet, reflective beauty, through the unique lens of the insomniac, Sophie. Sophie’s delivery holds a reminiscent feeling, a longing for the support of your loved ones, rather than another soulless, endless, scroll through the social universe.

“Lo-fi acoustic sounds, echoing guitar strings with piano keys and a little trombone... all in thick ambient & drone layers of mist. In the output we have the lovely song -Quiet Old Shipwreck- by the magicians and sorcerers of the business -Magnetic Vines-.”

“Акустические звуки lo-fi, эхо гитарных струн и пиано, немного тромбона, всё это в густых слоях тумана из ambient & drone и на выходе мы имеем очаровательный трек -Quiet Old Shipwreck- от магов и чародеев своего дела -Magnetic Vines-.”

Black Lilys – Canary in a Coal Mine – From “Lockdown Experience” – song by Black Lilys | Spotify (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“Some kind of miracle we're seemingly able to see, much closer and more accessible to everyone. The psychic composition -Canary in a Coal Mine- is a glaring example. Currently coming from the world of neoclassical music.”

“Любое чудо, казалось бы, способны видеть немногие, но оно намного ближе и доступно каждому. Душевная композиция -Canary in a Coal Mine- тому яркий пример. Настоящее ископаемое в мире неоклассической музыки.”

-Nagamag.com

Canary in a coal mine, composed during the first lockdown is the soundtrack to the documentary Lockdown Experience directed by the two Ebinum Brothers dancers.

Canary in a Coal Mine refers to an old practice of miners bringing canaries into coal mines to detect toxic gas emanations. As long as the bird continued to sing, the miners knew that their air supply was safe.

The expression means something or someone who acts as an indicator and becomes an early warning of possible adverse conditions or danger.

How many more Canaries in a Coal Mine will it take before we realize that we have gone too far? How many more scientific reports, burnt forests, polluted seas, extinct species, melting glaciers and new viruses before radical decisions are taken to save the life on our planet

https://www.facebook.com/blacklilys.officiel/

Black Lilys is the sweet blend naturally born between Camille’s husky voice and Robin’s sombre guitar melodies. Together, they offer us a strong indie pop with folk nuances, because they love to combine contrasts. Following their EP “Memories of a Blind Mind” released in 2014, the brother sister duo flavours the musical landscape with their sensitive force, inviting us in the intimacy of a rage that does not leave us indifferent. Multiplying their concerts in these past 3 years, their complicity seems even more obvious and their sincerity wins the adhesion of the public.

This first album, powerful and full of emotion, tenderness, at the same time, recalls, in a way, Björk, Ben Howard, The XX or Aurora. However, it is strikingly unique due to the highly modern realization based exclusively on organic sounds. An invitation to a deep introspective voyage, warm and universal.

“Incredibly beautiful, virtuosic and enigmatic work. -Face Plant- can be easily compared with an unsolved puzzle that leaves some shade of mysticism. Fascinating piano and striking sound vibration theremin.”

“Невероятно красивое, виртуозное и загадочное произведение. -Face Plant- во время прослушивания можно легко сравнить с нерешённой головоломкой, которая оставляет лёгкий оттенок мистики. Завораживающая игра пиано и поразительное звуковое колебание терменвокса.”

-Nagamag.com

Kepa Lehtinen Face plant

A new musical excursion from Kepa Lehtinen …Face plant is six track mini album of original contemporary classical music written for piano, contrabass, and theremin. . The theremin is an century-old electronic instrument that’s played by hand gestures rather than direct contact.

Nobody uses theremin like i do. It is not a solo instrument anymore. Because theremin responds to even the slightest movement (even to the players breath) it has become the organic sonic cornerstone of my music. It is the element that makes the soundscape really come to life ”

Face plant “I am 50 years old skateboarder. I have always loved the expression ”Face plant” (an instance of falling face first into or on to something.) If you skate on the limits of your skills you are going to fall at some point. It is going to hurt.”

Kontula Kontula (2018) is my most beloved composition. (740 000 streams on Spotify) ”Kontula ” is new solo remake of the piano version of the theme.

Fall ”The mix of classical and retro electronic music makes ideas escape easily and appreciate the changing season. Beautiful, very, very beautiful.” Mika Roth/desibeli.net

Nowhere ”Kepa gives an original instrument a new voice and expression in a center stage manner that merges electronic with a future indie classic. ” Ryan Martin/Jammerzine

Lockdown…Arpeggios on a broken piano – the sound of a pandemic.

It is ok to be a computer… Chiptune version of my track ”It is ok to be sad and dark” The last track on all my solo records is the Commodore 64 version of some previous song. The Spotify algorithm will punishes me – lol.

Gustav Hoyer, Peter Pejtsik, The Budapest Film Orchestra – Terra, the Bringer of Life (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , , |

“-Terra, the Bringer of Life- is an excellent opportunity to plunge into the world of classical music in its true demonstration. The vast and varied compositional heritage of the XVIII century, where you can listen the orchestral concert performed by the virtuosos -Gustav Hoyer-, -Peter Pejtsik- and -The Budapest Film Orchestra-.”

“-Terra, the Bringer of Life- это отличная возможность окунуться в мир классической музыки в её истинном проявлении. Огромное и разнообразное композиторское наследие XVIII века, в котором вы сможете услышать виртуозный оркестровый концерт в исполнении -Gustav Hoyer-, -Peter Pejtsik- и -The Budapest Film Orchestra-.”

-Nagamag.com

Standing at 7 minutes and 40 seconds, "Terra, The Bringer of Life" implements fervent violins and chimes to invoke the feeling of natural beauty on earth and the cycle of life, and mimic the musical elements of mother nature such as; flowing water, sprouting seeds, and flying birds. We are then given a quick glimpse of earth from the heavens with a beautiful melodic harp and flute section about one minute into the piece, which complements the overarching tone seamlessly.

The piece, though classical, is modern and relevant, which is not surprising given Gustav Hoyer's reputation as a prolific composer who is dedicated to giving "people a chance to experience this great art form in untraditional ways". He does this in multiple ways, and has recently been focusing on creating a virtual reality software that would allow a listener to not only watch a visualizer, but experience and immerse themselves into the music like never before. Though the VR platform isn't ready yet, you can still immerse yourself in the musical richness that is classical music through the new episodes of Gustav's podcast "Anachromism", were he focuses on slowing down and actively listening to music to get the best experience possible.
