SØLYS – Tranquility
(Spotify)

"Tranquility" by Canadian composer and multi-instrumentalist SØLYS (Michael Chambers) is lilting atmospheric piece centred around a simple piano motif. About halfway through the song a glockenspiel enters like a soft lullaby. The piano motif finally returns, joined by a rich backdrop of lush guitars and synth pads. Perfect for sleep and relaxation playlists.

The intention of this music piece is an acoustic interpretation of the continuous adaption of nature and individuals as well as the fact that everything is transitory.

The transformation from icebergs, via glaciers to floating meltwater is symbolic that nothing is forever. (see Iceberg Cover, which was shot by Simon Husung in Iceland)

Chiara Dubey – Find Time

Chiara Dubey said about this song "I often feel that people are frightened by the idea of wasting time, dooming themselves to a hectic existence, forgetting to valorise the present, not allowing space for the little things, the little “empty” moments, ignoring the details that give to the present its flavour. Find Time is an invitation to taste the passing time instead of fearing it and fighting it. Being a classical composer , a singer, and an electronic passionate, I merged all of these components in one hybrid genre"

Saudade' is an untranslatable word. It a deep emotional state of nostalgic or deeply melancholic longing for an absent something or someone that one loves. Saudade was once described as "the love that remains" after someone is gone. Saudade is the recollection of feelings, experiences, places or events that once brought excitement, pleasure, well-being, which now triggers the senses and makes one live again. It can be described as an emptiness, like someone or something that should be there in a particular moment is missing, and the individual feels this absence. It brings sad and happy feelings all together, sadness for missing and happiness for having experienced the feeling.

Frostfell was written to depict a story of my own imagination: the tale of a Nordic town cursed for generations by an endless, bitter winter, and a young boy’s prophesied journey through the tundra to lift that curse.

This piece serves as an overture to the album, depicting the present state of the small town of Frostfell: barren, frozen farmlands, its citizens just barely clinging to life that once flourished.
