Diane Arkenstone, David Arkenstone – She Reigns Through Tears – song by Diane Arkenstone, David Arkenstone | Spotify (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , |

“Airy, almost unreal vocals seep through the general lyrical mood. Such an interesting characteristic distinguishes this composition from many others earning the attention of many listeners. Magic music and great listening pleasure!”

“Через общее лирическое настроение просачивается воздушный, практически внеземной вокал. Такая интересная находка выделяет эту композицию среди многих других и заставляет обратить на себя внимание. Волшебная музыка, нереальное удовольствие от прослушивания!”

-Nagamag.com

Neo Pacifica Recordings announces the release today of a new single by iconic instrumentalists Diane Arkenstone and David Arkenstone. Titled “She Reigns Through Tears,” the track is taken from a forthcoming album, Avalon: Between The Earth And Sky, which is a follow up to their classic album Avalon: A Celtic Legend. The magical, fully orchestrated track produced by both, features Diane on guitar and vocalizations and David on keyboards, guitar, mandolin, penny whistle and programming. Accompanying them is Luanne Homzy on violin and viola.

The highly imaginative fantasy narrative of Avalon is continued on the new single, but from a feminine point of view. They note: “’She Reigns Through Tears’ represents the Queen's old life being torn from her, yet as Queen, she has the responsibility to carry on. Behind the crown she wears a stoic face and hides a saddened heart, while deep inside a powerful change is being born.”

ABOUT DIANE ARKENSTONE

For well over 20 years, musician Diane Arkenstone has gained worldwide acclaim with her extensive repertoire of distinctive instrumental recordings which garnered much success within the ambient, health and wellness circles. Diane has incredible success with Neo Pacifica, the independent label she launched with David Arkenstone in the late 90’s. Yet at heart, the singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist--who recalls penning her first song at age three, four years before she first picked up an acoustic guitar—has always been a soulful storyteller, passionate and artful at weaving emotions through a perfect blend of graceful melodies and poetic words.

Diane’s success in the realms of Celtic, global and Native American music is unparalleled, both as a recording artist and label/owner entrepreneur. Having seen the challenges her then-husband and frequent musical partner David Arkenstone was having with the big labels he had signed with, Diane—without any formal business training—launched Neo Pacifica Recordings and her publishing company Mulamu Music, with the simple goal of releasing their own music.

She has never let the lines of genre stop her from exploring the depths of music and where it can take her.

Muidas – Andromeda (Video)

Categories: Neoclassical, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“Very beautiful creation with a stunning lyrical mood. Light layers of Ambient sound, affectionate guitar melody and serenity of being. Such works bring light in the heart of each listener. Result which is burning with its warmth and artistic touch.”

“Очень красивое творение с потрясающим лирическим настроением. Лёгкие слои из ambient музыки, переливающаяся мелодия гитары и безмятежность бытия. Подобные произведения зажигают лучи добра в сердце каждого слушателя, обжигая своим теплом и ослепляя умиротворением.”

-Nagamag.com

Andromeda is Muidas’ fifth single, the first one of the “Above the Clouds“ project. The song is characterized by a dreamy and emotional mood, with a soothing guitar lead accompanied by falling piano notes. Inspiration came while meditating on how the universe appears to us: a harmonious constellation of immutable and shiny objects. I believe this is indeed one of the biggest and most beautiful optical illusions of our existence! For example, did you know that Andromeda and the Milky Way galaxies are likely set to clash in a few billion years? This song tries to portray the solemn and evocative journey of Andromeda towards us.

Andromeda is also an invitation to dig into ourselves. Tap on the play button of your favorite streaming app, close your eyes, and let your thoughts flow freely. Try not to engage with them, just observe and let the music guide you through this journey. When the piano plays the final notes, take a deep breath and check how you feel. Do you feel different? A bit calmer perhaps? No matter how you feel, kudos to you for finding some time to disconnect from the daily grind.

PRODUCTION

Recorded 2 full days in Abbey Road Studio One, London UK with 60-piece orchestra (fiddles, strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, harp) as part of the upcoming album Norse Mythology. Norse choir (24-people strong) was recorded in Synchron Stage Vienna. The entire album is based on the creation of Cosmos and Earth according to ancient Norse myths. Composed, produced, mixed and mastered over the course of 3 years through mid-pandemic, Norse Mythology was one of the first large orchestral recordings to be made at Abbey Road Studios since lock-down in the UK.

STORY BEHIND THE SONG AND ALBUM

The single "Death of Ymir" is based on the belief that Ymir was the first original being in the cosmos and the monster ancestor of all giants. There was much hatred between the first gods and giants so when Odin, and his brothers, Vili and Ve grew up they decided to kill Ymir. This despite Ymir being their ancestor since they believed that for order to life to take place in cosmos, the original being had to die. This mournful and heroic track is about his death. In honour of the fallen giant, rain fell from the sky as tears and only then could the creation of Earth begin...

“A beautiful cinematic sound canvas, plunging into atmosphere where you forget everything about this world. There is a feeling of rising in weightlessness to the environment of billion stars. In deep silence, there’s only you and music.”

“Красивое кинематографическое музыкальное полотно, погружаясь в атмосферу которого забываешь всё на свете. Возникает ощущение, что ты паришь в невесомости в окружение миллиардов звёзд. Вокруг безмолвная тишина. Только ты и музыка в твоей голове.”

-Nagamag.com

Jackson Quinn is an American artist, composer,, painter, image designer, and educator who has had a connection with music since touching his first guitar. His mixture of sounds are a combination of his connection to the natural world with intellectual thought. A world traveler, he is often musically inspired from past travels and living in different cultures, especially those in cold climates which are known for their reflective atmosphere. Eventually, this affected his music and art, later persuading his contemporaries to nickname him the Wintry One after a poetry and music session in snow covered Nova Scotia, Canada. Indeed his music is reflective in tone, but he incorporates it into his interpretation of Ambient electronic, Deep House, Chill out and Cinematic music.

The album was recorded with a line up primarily of piano, strings, synthesizers and bass along with select guest appearances including Gene Back on Violin and the Hi-Lo Singers on vocals on the beautifully stripped back choral track ‘Outpour’.

Talking about the creation of MIBIAL, Emily reveals: “I was in my studio and started humming - there was something about the melody, so I wrote it down and it sparked this process. It was the door to me starting the album and that humming became album opener and first single ‘Come With Me’. It was an invitation for me to start writing, and an invitation to others to come with me on the journey of the rest of the album.

“MIBIAL is a love letter to home. The fondness, pining, sadness and hope that came with all the emotions stirred up by the pandemic. In recent years, at times it feels like we’re living in a movie and there is definitely a cinematic feel to the soundscape of MIBIAL.”
