DuPont Brass is a unique, soulful, brass ensemble hailing from the D.C. Metropolitan Area. Originally composed of five music majors from Howard University trying to raise money for tuition during the Christmas season, they have now grown to a 8-piece ensemble consisting of brass, a rhythm section, and vocalists. Gaining popularity from playing at local Metro stations, DuPont Brass started out professionally playing for weddings, banquets, and other private events in the surrounding area. Thanks to the foundation laid in their earlier years, DuPont Brass has had the opportunity to perform in conjunction with the D.C. Jazz Festival and on the prestigious Kennedy Center Millennium Stage. Consistently touching the hearts of the community with their heartwarming testimony, DuPont Brass has been featured on WPFW's “Live at Five” three times and featured in the Washington Post Newspaper five times. Through their training in both classical and contemporary styles, the young group has developed a sound that mixes varied genres of music, including jazz, hip-hop, and R&B. Their latest release entitled Eclectic Soul is a testament to that sound. Overall, the mission of DuPont Brass is to uplift the spirits of people with their music, not just in the DMV area, but across the world.

Cadence Weapon, the moniker of Toronto-based rapper, producer, writer and poet Rollie Pemberton, is back a blistering new LP Parallel World, out April 30th via eOne Music.

“SENNA” is the first single, about self-determination and taking the road less travelled, and is a reunion collaboration with Jacques Greene (LuckyMe/Night Slugs/Vase Records) following their work together on the self-titled Cadence Weapon (2018). It’s inspired by legendary Brazillian F1 driver Ayrton Senna.

Using elements of trap, drill, grime and acid house, Parallel World is the soundtrack for the dystopian future we’ve somehow found ourselves in, with everyone dealing with their own realities relating to these issues.

Darrin Willz is a rap and hip-hop artist with a twist of soul from Oakland, California.

In early 2021, the rapper released his single ‘A Kid From Oakland’ featuring Oakland’s legendary Freestyle King, Mistah F.A.B. Both rappers reflect on life growing up in Oakland, how they fought through adversity and have experienced success. His debut album, ‘The Beautiful Storm’, is set for release in March 2021.

Darrin began making music at 9 years old, inspired by the thought of bringing his “Oakland” worldview to the rest of the globe through song. After multiple late nights rapping and blasting music in his teens, Darrin’s father took him to his uncle’s studio for his first recording session. The rest is history.

Inspired by his real-life experiences, independent rapper says: “I want to make music for everyone in the struggle. If you’re working everyday, sun up to sun down, my music is for you. If you’re feeling hopeless, lost and not sure where this life will take you, my music is for you. And if you just want to feel good, my music is for you.”

One of hip-hop’s most unforgiving and raw voices, Slaine has grown into a multi-talented artist through his music and acting roles in some of the most renowned crime dramas of our generation. He appeared in The Town, Gone Baby Gone, and Killing Them Softly alongside legends like Ray Liotta, James Gandolfini, and Brad Pitt, while continuing to hone his craft as an emcee.

And now, Slaine releases his most visceral album to date with The Things We Can’t Forgive. It’s a lyrically-charged journey that touches on love, sex, heartbreak, narcissism, trauma, betrayal, addiction, forgiveness and recovery. What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Broughton:
Rap, Hip-Hop is what I create. From R.I.P Joyce a deep, heartfelt song about my Nan who died because of cancer to Ocean Thoughts a wavy banger with bars. I don't make the same song over & over I create different songs with different vibes for any moment.

Few words about your musical background and career?

Broughton:
I've been making music since 2015, I'm one half of the collective NQH. (Not Quite Human)
I've got two EP's on SoundCloud, 24 Singles on all digital platforms & 18 music videos on YouTube. NQH YouTube channel.

Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Broughton:
I've loved music my whole life, music is life.

Broughton:
