S. E. Webster is a folk-rock artist born and raised in the deserts of Southern California. S.E.’s music evokes sunsets, sepia tones, and long drives on dusty, far-off roads. With intimate vocals and lush instrumentation, S. E. has cultivated a modern but timeless sound. His music gives voice to feelings of longing and nostalgia for what could have been.

“You & I Would Die” is a 4 song debut EP set for release on February 26th, 2021. The songs trace the arc of a romance destined to end too soon, the victim of circumstance and cross-country moves. As the first chapter of a trilogy, this EP sets the scene and brings the listener along for the ride. The follow-up EP is set to be released in Summer 2021.

S. E. collaborated with producer/composer Erik Groysman (Karmina, Cape Weather, Drunk History) to create a visceral, visually-stimulating experience with the help of mixer Steve Bone (Cape Weather, Mario Jose, Hannah Sumner).

This song is part of an album that was written while I was going through the emotions of being diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Although sad and melancholic, The music also conveys a sense of hopefulness. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Oregon instrumentalist Joshua Carlton toured the world with post rock band This Patch of Sky for the last decade. This lead him to compose music for television and film such as ‘Brand, a Second Coming’ (a documentary film on actor Russell Brand and his battle with drug addiction), and the Vice channel. He has also been featured in the McDonald’s Ramadan commercial, as well as large brands such as Petco. Joshua’s excited to share his new solo project. “This is an album that I absolutely had to write” he says of 2021 debut ‘Moonlight Under the Black Flag’. Joshua was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in February of 2020 and found solace in purging his emotions through the music he was composing. “This music is truly my heart, and I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed creating it”.

"...This is my score to my short film "The Smell of Burning" about finally learning to process my mom's death over a decade later.

ABOUT THE FILM:

“i see my mom everywhere i go, in everything i do, and in everything i want to accomplish, but she is always just out of reach. i am entangled in her memory, and the memories of those she inspired.

my memory of my mom is more of a protective energy than a face. the feeling of her arms, her voice, and her security.”

I’m Remy Styrk and I’m a composer and creator. I was born to a homeless heroin addict in Newark, New Jersey in 1999. At the age of 14 months, I was adopted by a couple, the husband, a fashion photographer and wife, a creative director. My parents’ love of the arts helped deepen my curiosity in music and the creation of it. In 2004, we moved to Leawood, KS from our colonial house in Accord, New York. Within months of settling into the new house and state, my mom suddenly passed away due to a brain aneurysm. She was my guiding light.

So here I am, grieving the loss of my mom and growing up in suburban Kansas as predominantly the only black kid in the neighborhood. I played into a character not my own, often choosing isolation. My mom was learning to play the piano in her adulthood and had a Roland Keyboard. I knew as long as I had the keyboard, I was safe. Starting to make melodies on it allowed me to express honest energy.

I've studied at the Grammy Museum, learning from artists such as Matchbox Twenty, Fallout Boy, and Sevendust. I've worked on sound design and music for films, tv shows, and commercials from HBO/Showtime.

I make short films to tell personal stories. These films also double a way to continue to process trauma, learn and educate, and continue to my mom’s memory..."

This song is inspired by an astronauts trip to space. It opens with a slow rise that signifies the anticipation before take off and grows into a wall of sound catapulting the listener gently through the earths atmosphere and into the weightlessness of space. The song is atmospheric and calming with gentle piano at its forefront. 'Moonwalk' is the lead single from the upcoming EP entitled 'Ma'.

HRDY, also known as Wouter Hardy, is a Dutch composer, producer and musician. Hardy discovered the piano and played his way onto the stage with the artist Kovacs where he inhabited the role of musical director and pianist for some time.

Hardy made his 2019 global debut as a producer on the record 'Arcade’ by Duncan Laurence. The song led the Netherlands to victory at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Over the last months, Hardy has been working on his solo project HRDY, composing music to be released on his own studio album. Influenced by music pioneers such as Ólafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm, Max Richter and Joep Beving, his compositions blend the styles of the neo-classical era with ambient, electronic sounds, resulting in multi-leveled, immersive and cinematic music pieces. For the first song of the album, to be released in the first week of February 2021, HRDY utilized a string section alongside his beloved 1870 pianola, 2019 Zimmermann and multiple analog synths from the 70’s and 80’s to create a floating, enticing and intimate piece. HRDY will be complementing his full-length debut album in the course of the coming year by releasing a new song each month, enjoy!

“Morning Star” consists of works composed by Zenon Marko in the immediate aftermath of his mother’s death. These minimalist and atmospheric ambient piano pieces were written as tribute, meditations, and expressions of the diversity of emotions, reactions, thoughts, memories, hopes and fears that follow upon such a loss. The music also attempts to sympathetically comprehend the experience of one’s last days and weeks, facing mortality. The hope is that others who have experienced loss, or are facing their own mortality, will feel an echo, a recognition, and perhaps find solace, within this music. All the pieces are at a tempo of 60 beats per minute, the rhythm of the second hand of a clock, to express the sense of time passing, inevitability and transience.

"...This music was created following a challenging trip in Iran during Easter of 2016. Just few days after return from Teheran I was sitting on the sofa and watching TV. It was night and I ended up in a documentary about the wars of Alexander the Great in Persia. The documentary described the travel of Alexander through places which I had visited few days earlier. It was night and I started to improvise a music matching the images on the TV screen and, in approximately one hour, the fundamental part of the melodies was created. The entire compositions was finalized during the following 3 weeks..."
