Rust Roest’ is the first single off the upcoming debut album of Brussel-based artist Nite Kite. It will be released on all digital streaming platforms on February 17th, 2025.
After his previous EP ‘En Plein Air’ (2022) caught the attention of Belgian media, Nite Kite has ambitiously continued his journey. In the wake of that release, he invited other musicians to join him in playing his music. ‘Rust Roest’ is one of those first songs and the collective work shapes the song.
The resulting single is still wholly Nite Kite: melancholic piano melodies interwoven with hypnotic synth sequences, haunting yet always resolving with quiet hope. To highlight and accentuate spontaneous interplay and close friendships, he found an isolated studio in nature to host an eclectic group of musician friends. The final live-tracked performance is refreshingly human for an electronic genre; piano, synths, double bass, drums, and electronica come to life, weaving together (proof of) an intimate exchange, blurring the line between composition and pure improvisation.
This first single perfectly bridges the gap between Nite Kite’s earlier work, which came into being from a solitary process, and the upcoming album, a collective effort of more than ten people, and sets the mood for the forthcoming full album.

The tale of The Awakening unfolds as a soul ventures into a hypnotic journey, drifting seamlessly between realms of consciousness and unconsciousness. As his senses fully awaken, he is carried across multiverses, each a fragment of an infinite reflection. In a fleeting moment, he stands before another version of himself—both familiar and unknown. A silent, ineffable sensation sparks the genesis of an odyssey beyond time, beyond space, beyond self. The Awakening is a solo piano piece which will be the first movement of a forthcoming, eight-movement suite, loosely modeled after the structure of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, which OHNomad lists among his most influential works. The Awakening is performed by pianist Chi-Jo Lee, with whom OHNomad has collaborated on many of his other pieces including Places of Origin, Danielle, Rosenwald, and others. It was recorded November 8, 2025 at Allegro Recordings by Grammy Award-winning engineer, Matthew Snyder. The cover art was co-designed by the composer and French illustrator Aude. The female figure in the artwork represents a blend of both the composer and pianist; and, an expression of the fluidity of emotion, sensuality, and creativity.
