NOTI – dante (Spotify)

April 7th, 2021|Audio, Electronica, The Latest|

“The success of track -dante- rests on its three pillars; melodic lounge sound, relaxed chill-hop rhythms and pulsating, captivating vocals. Your music library collection will soon be richer. Enjoy!”

“Успех трека -dante- держится на его трёх китах; мелодичность lounge музыки, непринуждённые ритмы chill-hop и пульсирующая мелодия пленительного вокала. Ваша библиотека станет на одну золотую коллекцию богаче. Наслаждайтесь!”

-Nagamag.com

NOTI’s new track Dante dances back and forth between laidback lo-fi and soulful R&B. All but shrouded behind the curtain of the intricate instrumental, an anonymous Italian artist recites the introduction to eponymous poet Dante Alighieri’s Canto V of Inferno (Divina Commedia), instilling the composition with an aura of history and literary mystique. NOTI’s latest release soars to its climax when Anna Rossinelli’s ethereal voice enters the stage and brings Dante‘s final act to a triumphant close. Put your feet up, top off your glass of Chianti - and enjoy!

easing is Noti’s first instrumental solo-production. The recent lockdown afforded the highly sought-after songwriter and instrumentalist an opportunity to craft this production at his home studio. The 5-song EP showcases Noti’s wide-ranging abilities as a songwriter and musician, and draws on his rich experience as a fixture in the Swiss scene. Noti’s diverse influences, unified by his distinct, original style, shine through on lead single “85km/h”; an ode to poised motion, the track pulsates, subtly speeds up and slows down but remains ultimately unstoppable - much like the artist himself.

Damien Sebe, CHG – Love… I Guess (Spotify)

April 7th, 2021|Audio, Hip-Hop, The Latest|

“Love makes wonders and so does music. The piece -Love ... I Guess- has its rhythm broken on the foot of a lone beach rock. Only you, only music and nothing but love.”

“Любовь творит чудеса точно так же, как и музыка. -Love... I Guess- разбивается своим ритмом о подножия одиноких скал на берегу. Только вы, только музыка и только любовь.”

-Nagamag.com

"Love... I Guess" is a song inspired by a friendship that develops into a romantic entanglement. Both parties find it hard to express their feelings for each other in fear of how strenuous relationships can be, they don't want to ever stop talking if things don't work out. With some Ballad Jazz chords setting a romantic feel and guitar parts that lighten the song into a happy mood to reminisce happy times between the two. - Damien Sebe

Daniël Tomàs – Ambedo (Spotify)

April 7th, 2021|Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|

“Beautiful and melodic work in the direction of classical minimalism. -Ambedo- intends to drive his listeners in his splendor. Peaceful harmony and balanced spirit.”

“Красивое и мелодичное произведение в жанре классического минимализма. -Ambedo- позволяет себе растворить своих слушателей в своём великолепие. Тишина и покой. Покой и тишина.”

-Nagamag.com

The Dutch pianist and producer Daniël Tomàs (van der Duim) has been one with the piano from an early age on, since his grandmothers piano was situated in the living room from the moment he was born. It was this playful discovery that triggered him to further study jazz/pop piano at the ArtEZ Conservatory, focusing on improvisation. Throughout studying Daniël kept a specific passion for intimate, neo-classical piano pieces and in his master studies he decided to further deepen this sound by combining it with improvisation and electronics, with the help of the acclaimed pianist Jeroen van Vliet.

After studying Daniël mainly worked as musician, composer and producer for multiple pop, jazz and theater projects, like his jazz-trio: Doppler Trio or his productions for singer ELIËN. But the corona pandemic in 2020 forced him to stop performing and allowed him to focus on one of his biggest dreams: recording a successful solo piano record.

For four months in a row he started every morning with recorded improvisations, followed by writing down and organizing ideas on his childhood piano.

It was throughout this proces that he rediscovered the beauty of his childhood piano, being combined with felt before the hammers, which gives it an intimate mood. This led to the decision to fully record the piano in the same room as where he spent almost all of his childhood hours studying, resulting in the album: “Pintures”.

“Pintures” (- French for: “painting” but also meaning piano textures) is about the power of imagination.

Although the music is recorded from an introspective perspective, the effects and vocals are creating a whole new world ‘behind’ the music.

Every song is a new painting, it has its own journey through intimate and distant worlds, but always has the same intimate felt piano keeping you ‘home’ in a certain kind of way.

The titles are meant to create an extra dimension behind the music, creating an ambiance for the mind to wonder. Like the song title Ambedo, which means: “A kind of melancholic trance in which you become completely absorbed in vivid sensory details”.

The music can be described as atmospheric, narrative, neoclassical piano music in combination with etheric voices and droning synthesizers.

The album will be released end 2021/beginning 2022.

Bukola – A Good Thing (Video)

April 7th, 2021|Pop, The Latest, Video|

“Our lives may not actually be as we wish, but from time to time good oportunities appear. Do we recognize the good things or let them pass away? Listen to this cheerful song from Bukola and find out what we mean.”

-Nagamag.com

Vancouver musician Bukola has been dreaming of releasing her own music since she was 9 years old and now her dreams are coming true with the launch of her debut single and video ‘A Good Thing’.

The first single from her debut EP The Chronicles of A Teenage Mind which is set for release this summer, ‘A Good Thing’ is all about knowing your own worth and not settling for anything less.

“‘A Good Thing’ was originally written as a way of me poking fun at the ‘player’ mentality that quite a bit of people my age adopt,” says Bukola. “So when you listen to the song, you’ll notice a bunch of witty lines and references to them needing to grow up and to ultimately recognize ‘A Good Thing’ when they see it. However, as I’ve gotten to live with the song, it’s also taken on an anthemic role as it serves to remind myself and hopefully others that we are all deserving of someone who will treat us right. The song reminds us we are good things, and if someone can’t see that – it’s on them.”

Recently hailed by the CBC as one of the Top 10 Soulful Female Artists in the 2020 CBC Searchlight competition, Bukola blends the sounds of contemporary R&B and Jazz music to create her own soulful sound. She’s deeply influenced by artists such as India.Arie, Daniel Caesar and H.E.R., and worked with Grammy Award-winning producer, Chin Injeti, and Juno Award-winning producer Ben Kaplan on her soon to be released debut EP The Chronicles of A Teenage Mind.

Bukola’s new single ‘A Good Thing’ is available now on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes, and other digital retailers and streaming services worldwide. For more info, please visit https://www.bukolamusic.com/

  • Loyk - 1999 (Spotify), Hip-Hop music genre, Nagamag Magazine

Loyk – 1999 (Spotify)

April 7th, 2021|Audio, Hip-Hop, The Latest|

“The new heartfelt single 1999, from 20 year old Belgian singer songwriter Loyk (Björn Loykens), who incidentally is famous for his dancing in his home country. Is out now & if this song is anything to go by? His dancing is soon to be overshadowed by his outstanding musical performances. The track opens with a melancholic solo piano intro & then slips seamlessly into a vocal drifting somewhere between R&B & cloud rap.
This is a wonderful song, Lo-fi in its hazy, dreamlike and relaxed sound. The lyrics pull you into the heart & soul of Loyk & the loving, yet difficult relationship he has with his mother. Beautifully performed & produced I can highly recommend this tear-jerker of a track.”

-Nagamag.com

At age 20, Loyk (Björn Loykens) is already a veteran dancer in Belgium but only recently got naturally ushered into making music. After meeting producer Jazz Maeson, he’s been sojourning in a creative space for the past year. He eventually reconciled to a wavy sound that explores the edges of r&b and cloud rap, the perfect vehicle to spread his message and express his personal feelings. Loyk is now ready to share his music with the world.

Jax Anderson, K.Flay – I Don’t Care Anymore (Video)

April 7th, 2021|Pop, The Latest, Video|

“This work is insanely creative and full of positive energy. -I Do not Care Anymore- Basically having affections from indie & lo-fi pop and demonstrating quality humor by -Jax Anderson and K.Flay-.”

“Безумно креативная работа наполненная позитивной энергией. -I Don’t Care Anymore- вереница из таких удачных звеньев, как indie & lo-fi pop и качественный юмор от исполнителей -Jax Anderson и K.Flay-.”

-Nagamag.com

Today, newfound friends Jax Anderson and K.Flay team up for their self-empowerment track “I Don’t Care Anymore”, released via Jax’ label Neon Gold Records HERE.

https://stem.ffm.to/idontcareanymore%C2%A0

Jax started the song as a demo on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@jaxandersonmusic/video/6938879468085857542 where it tracked 400,000 views and proved to be an undeniably relatable bop. She decided to invite K.Flay along into the studio, as well as producer Tommy English, to bring the song to life while creating an important dialogue at the same time.

Jax says: “Someone commented recently that I Don’t Care Anymore is a song about nihilistic optimism & I’d say they’re totally right. I’m saying “nothing matters, but isn’t it freeing?” It’s my way of fully accepting who I am & rejecting any standards that I’ve learned to carry. It’s incredible how freeing life is when you choose not to give a fuck, right? All I can do is live as myself, truly & fully & it’s been awesome.”

K.Flay adds: “This collaboration came about totally organically. Jax posted an early version of the song on TikTok, people loved it, and a bunch of folks commented that I should feature on the track. So we made it happen! The lyrics really resonated with me. For anyone who’s felt like an outsider, you eventually reach a point where you actually stop caring what other people think. And you embrace yourself with a newfound sense of confidence and swagger and kindness. To me, that’s what this song is all about.”

Jax Anderson, who changed from her Flint Eastwood moniker to her real name, has built a reputation for writing alt-pop anthems that boldly speak to overcoming the forces in the world that try and keep us from loving ourselves and actualizing our full potential.

About K.Flay: The Chicago-born K.Flay’s near-undefinable amalgamation of dark-electro soundscapes, art-pop sensibilities, spitfire rhymes, industrial rock backbone and versatile chameleon-like vocals has led the songwriter/artist/multi-instrumentalist to two GRAMMY nominations (Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for ‘Every Where Is Some Where’, and Best Rock Song for “Blood in the Cut”), tours alongside Grouplove, Imagine Dragons & Thirty Seconds To Mars, and festival spots at ACL Fest, Bonnaroo, Coachella, Treefort, and Riot Fest. She most recently dropped her ‘Don’t Judge A Song By Its Cover’ EP via BMG in December where her transportive musicality takes a blindsiding trifecta of 90s rock staples (Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff”, Green Day’s “Brain Stew” and The Offspring’s “Self Esteem”) and reimagines them into another dimension.
