“Each of us has a special place, where to calm down and relax. At such moments, this music acts in a special way. The heart calms down at the end of the day, when the Sun sets on the horizon. Beautiful piano chords that can reach our tired souls.”

“Есть у каждого человека на этом свете особое место, куда он приходит отдохнуть и расслабиться. И именно в такие моменты подобная музыка воздействует особым образом. Сердце успокаивается, гаснет день на линии горизонта и слышно красивое пение цикад за окном. Музыка, которая лечит наши уставшие души.”

Andrea Sertori is an Italian pianist and composer of instrumental music. He started his first classical piano studies when he was 9 years old and his first keyboard experiences when he was 15. He had the opportunity to play in different rock bands and at the same time to continue studying piano in order to improve his piano technique and sensitivity as much as possible. Beyond the piano he has the great passion of synthesizers. The study of synthesizers allowed him to learn how to combine classical piano music with electronic music. His first solo work was 'Mosaic Room' (2017), a 5 track EP where piano and synthesizers overlap. From this moment on, in succession, he released a series of tracks that are characterized by a fusion between neo-classical and electronic music.

Artist shared few words with Nagamag behind her song inspiration:

"Stranger is a moment of reflection on the strange experience we all went trough recently. The lockdown.

The lockdown was like a surreal dream. A blanket of solitude and quietness that just felll on us. Rythms changed, patterns changed. We changed. And yet, in this silent storm I found something good: I found this person in my empty home that I had lost a little along the way.

Myself. I was a stranger to myself.

But suddenly there was enough time and space to look inwards and it felt good. It felt like meeting an old friend after a long time.

Writing this piece, this intimate conversation with my very own soul, was liberating.

Maybe it will feel the same for those who listen as well.”

Artist few words with Nagamag behind the source of his inspiration for this song:

"I wrote this song after I had gone for a walk during a rainy night in Berlin. In my neighborhood there wasn't much going on anymore except for a few people in a bar waiting for the rain to end while having a drink. I thought it’s just incredible how many different life stories and experiences take place in a single city. Music can completely change your perspective on what you perceive in that moment. This song is a little film music of life with which I tried to capture the feelings of that night."

ÜUCE, Arttu Silvast – sea / boat / water (Spotify)

“Where the sea meets an altar and waves embrace the crystal cathedrals is where this takes place. A romance with sound of synths and strings telling the tale. ”

-Nagamag.com

'sea / boat / water' is the first single that’s flourished from a collaboration between two neo-classical composers; ÜUCE (USA) and Arttu Silvast (FIN).

The project started to come together after the two musicians found each other through shared digital spaces and started exchanging musical ideas online. It turned out that they both had a similar taste in music, sounds, and textures.

I grew up spending my summers in the sand on the east coast of the USA. Naturally while there, I had life-giving experiences, fell in love with the ocean, and fell in love with the women who ended up becoming my wife. As the years moved on and I finally got to enjoy the sea with my son, a melody broke onto the shore in front of us. After sharing the concept with Arttu, he thoughtfully observed the notes to find the meaning for me… not to mention expand profoundly on it. - ÜUCE

I’m originally from a very small seaside town in Southern Finland and the sea has always made me feel at home and offered an endless source of inspiration. ‘sea / boat / water’ came together as ÜUCE sent me one of his piano ideas that I started to build on. Turned out that we have a very similar taste in aesthetics and music but also, we are both fascinated by the sea. - Arttu Silvast

Zachary Greer, Pallmer – Final Breath (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , |

“Simple and influensive Cinematic beauty, based on acoustic chords and some quite artistic singing. "Final Breath" has the power to stimulate the mind and affect our mood. The cooperative work which you cannot easily skip!”

-Nagamag.com

“Final Breath” hails from The Duel, a striking instrumental album memorializing the two hundredth anniversary of New Brunswick (Canada)’s last fatal duel.

https://www.zacharygreer.com/

“On the surface, ‘Final Breath’ is about George Wetmore and George Street’s emotional journey leading up to the events of the last fatal duel in New Brunswick,” said Zachary Greer (he/him) on the eve of the October 2 anniversary. “However, the themes of their characters are so current. The experience of carrying guilt and regret, and the potential to succumb to ‘darkness’ when under extreme emotional pressure are timeless tropes of the human condition. I also found that the immense significance put on reputation, which was the main reason Wetmore challenged Street, resonated so well with our current society and its relationship with social media.”

https://zacharygreer.bandcamp.com/

Recorded at Fredericton’s The Recordery with Brad Perry and Evan Hansen, the LP features contributions from Fredericton string duo Pallmer and violinist Ali Johnson.

https://www.instagram.com/zsgreer/

“Pallmer has an intimate and raw sound, which is exactly what I wanted for this story,” said Greer. “I wanted raw and gritty textures, but there’s also beauty, representing the complicated lives of these characters. Some of the tracks were basically written in the studio, and then I structured them around the improvised takes we did. I envisioned this single in the story as a local group in 1821s New Maryland, playing this song in a little tavern just after the duel occured.”

Inspired by how Beethoven would write incidental music like the “Egmont Overture” or the “Coriolan Overture,” which were both based on plays, Greer’s album unfolds chronologically with the events of the duel, as outlined in a companion digital booklet.

“This story that took place just outside of Fredericton is so surreal, and people don’t realize what kind of history we have here in New Brunswick,” Greer said. “To make a film or television production of it would require a crazy budget and resources, so I felt this was a great opportunity to bring it to life with an instrumental album.”

Libertad (Main Theme) | Far Cry 6 (Original Game Soundtrack) | Pedro Bromfman (Video)

Categories: Neoclassical, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

“Whether you’re a fan of Cinematic music or not, some productions can prove quite impressive. “Libertad” is surely one of them. Exceptionally built electronic track, with plenty of synth layers that form an addictive atmosphere from where we couldn’t escape!”

-Nagamag.com

For the new entry in the long-running Far Cry series, Brazilian composer Pedro Bromfman— known for his work on Narcos and Robocop — creates music that is drenched in lush soundscapes, driving percussion, processed organic instruments and a ton of synthesizers. The game takes place in the Caribbean island of Yara, and the music reflects its surroundings with roots in traditional Latin American and Caribbean music, while being completely free to experiment with contemporary sounds, elements and techniques.

Today “Libertad”, marked by a layered build of guitars and thick atmosphere, makes its way into the world as well. A theme Bromfman created for Yara’s revolution, it’s part of a greater body of work marked by expanding synths wrapped around dark-cloaked strings with a distinct pulse.

“We needed a powerful melody, full of beauty and longing like the island itself, that could also encompass the grit, darkness and pain of a bloody war,” he describes. “With heavy percussion and electric guitar, it quickly builds and explodes into an anthem for Yara’s, young and old, fighting for their freedom.”

Bromfman’s score for Far Cry 6 has a clear artistic vision, with distinctive, haunting melodies and character themes, fully immersing the listener. He calls it “a journey full of beauty, violence, adrenaline and passion,” and it’s hard to disagree with those descriptions once the entirety of the score is taken in.

The Far Cry 6 (Original Game Soundtrack) is out today, with the expanded Far Cry 6: Complete Music (Original Game Soundtrack) out 10/21 via Ubisoft Music.
