Altamullan Road – Underwater
(Video)

Gearing up for the release of their mesmerizing debut album due in
the fall of 2020, Altamullan Road, fronted by the sublime voices of
Johanna Kurkela and Johanna Iivanainen already gave us a peek
into their world of wonders with their 1st single “When It’s Time”.

There may be no return after the 2nd, saturnine “Underwater”.
With “Underwater” the supernatural sisters paint a gloomy picture
of a deathwish bittersweetly mixing with hope. A musical canvas
resounding with echoes, the song is sparsely colored with firm,
broad strokes and eerie harmonies. The song weaves an intricate
network of gossamer melodies and submerges the listener in
gothic, melancholic bliss. As light and airy as the singing appears at
the outset, the lyrical message lies clandestine, anticipating just
below the monochrome surface for you to dive in.

“Underwater” is a pensive tide, lying in wait to wash over you.
Altamullan Road is the silent wail of angels becoming the darkness,
the grief of waning memories and the faint flickering of candles in
the dark.

(Spotify)

Warm and dark piano piece with layers of emotions. This track captures the peace of mind. The idea is sprung from when going through hardship and once you're through it, it becomes part of you. And you wouldnt' be the same without the bad things you've experienced since you become wiser too.

at_bubble"String Theory member PC Nackt re-uses classical piano compositions, processed and played live through MIDI Pianos. "Exobase_Scarlatti” continues to push classical music into unexplored territory." A couple years back, !K7 label founder Horst Weidenmüller launched the !7K sub-label to further explore new classical and undefined music. And when he did that, he thought of Plunderphonia -- a way to mirror the the respected DJ Kicks series on !K7 but through the !7K lens.

Continuing a theme explored in Henrik Schwarz’s 2018 Plunderphonia concert, which re-appropriated 700 string sequences, frequent Apparat collaborator and The String Theory member PC Nackt’s upcoming album re-uses classical piano compositions that have been selected by music supervisor Hania Rani. The piano scores have then been played into MIDI by pianist Antonis Anissegos. And the MIDI Files have been “plunderized” (processed and played live) by PC Nackt through two Yamaha Disklaviers (MIDI operated classical pianos), creating compositions that take classical music into unexplored territory.

The inaugural Plunderphonia album release from PC Nackt is set for a June 26th release date on 7K!. Following "Space_Schubert", today the new track "Exobase_Scarlatti" is released to the world, displaying another creative layer to the project.
