“Crystal, clean and at the same time lamp sound. That guitar melody, enveloping vocals, slow and durable Indie Folk rhythm, are completely balanced and sound unique! If you listen "Porcelain Dreams" at its full length, you'll feel every note performed by its producers.”

“Какой кристальный, чистый и в то же время ламповый звук. Мелодия гитары, обволакивающий вокал, медленный, тягучий ритм indie folk, всё максимально сбалансировано и звучит просто невероятно! Если послушать трек от начала и до конца, то можно прочувствовать каждую ноту, исполненную музыкантами и исполнителями.”

Based in Lafayette, Dustin Dale Gaspard is both Alt. Folk Songwriter and front man/ vocalist for Rock N Soul group DG and The Freetown Sound. He has prided himself on conviction of live performance, clever cryptic lyricism and an always evolving songwriting style. From howling vocal ambiance of solo tunes like "Same C", to other creative, yet simple folk driven tunes, "Widower & The Water", his writing reveals a variety of range. Gaspard focuses on sharing tales and sustaining soul touching live performances. With new age roots on the rise Gaspard looks to make his mark for any listener willing to dance to his vision. "Porcelain Prayer Tapes" is the first full demo release. If you’re looking for a new serene acoustic guitar-led soundscape to surrender your consciousness to, up and coming artist Dustin Dale Gaspard’s latest single “Porcelain Dreams” comes highly recommended. Porcelain Dreams finds the perfect balance between Indie, Folk, and Shoegaze to offer a bluesy, soulful and intrinsically melodic soundscape. It wouldn’t be a stretch to call the US-based 6-piece’s latest offering of Ambient Americana one of the most mesmeric soundscapes we’ve heard this year. Many similar downtempo singles all too easily fall flat and into the realms of pedestrianism, but there’s an alchemy to Dustin Dale Gaspard’s sound which will become more than perceptible once you hit play on their latest release.

Mystic Peach – It’s Not Their Future (Video)

“Are you strong enough to withstand the heat of “Mystic Peach”? Hot like fire single in Garage Rock mood. Electric guitar patterns are driven along with some wild lyrics and distortion effects. Sound with attitude, not for every kind of listeners. Dare to try it!”

Southampton’s hair-raiser trio Mystic Peach have today shared their genre-thwarting single ‘It’s Not Their Future’, as well as their highly anticipated debut EP ‘M?’, via on-the-pulse South Coast label and promoters Honeymooner. In addition to the EP comes the band’s debut UK headline tour.

“Taut, intense songwriting with a rock crunch” – Clash Magazine

“No-one has managed to capture pre-lockdown loneliness in a three-minute isolated snapshot as prevailingly as Mystic Peach” – So Young Magazine

“Mystic Peach’s vocalist and guitarist Curtis Gale’s vocals are gale-force winds of their own, smashing through waves of sound with an accelerating menace while the grungy riff antes up worryingly like the most earnest of poker bluffs, daring you to call it out” – The Line of Best Fit

“There will be times in the future where Mystic Peach will be able to purr their way through people’s ears, right now it’s all about the chaos. Please don’t stop!” – Jack Saunders

“They’re really, really good, really intense and every song comes straight from the heart.” – Huw Stephens

Having previously been selected as Jack Saunders’ Next Wave on BBC Radio 1, a track remixed by New York’s A Place To Bury Strangers and recently signed to Marshall Amplifcation’s Live Agency, 2021, despite it’s grievances, was a force which encouraged Mystic Peach to indulge in a total rebrand- a change in artistic direction which enabled the group to embrace their vulnerabilities, as they gear up to unveil their biggest work yet; a labour of love and a concoction of emotions created in pockets of isolation, that’s itching to be unleashed into a freer, more creatively lucid state of existence.

Of the EP, vocalist / guitarist Curtis Gale notes: “We’re excited to finally release our first major piece of “art”; an EP that seemed to flawlessly meet the narrative of our intentions of being open on mental health, with personal experiences turned into a short story and the regression of the protagonist’s sanity.

Though that may appear negative for us, it’s an insight of our difficulties and sharing them through our music in the hope that it helps someone out there and we can celebrate our weirdness together.”

Recorded in lockdown by George Murphy at West London’s Eastcote Studios, ‘M?’, and subsequently ‘She’s So Neat’, are two captivating examples of how banded self-progression can result in long term fluidity, and confrontationally companionate euphoria. Neither a “real” name nor a symbol of mystique but rather a self-adaptive emblem of headspaces trapped in time, and set-free in guitar based anarchy, ‘M?’ is a raucous tale of subconscious intuition that combines influences of 60’s garage and Motown/Northern Soul, with a psychological plethora of Psych-Punk precision.

Categorised manically into four key stages: ‘She So Neat’: Obsession, ‘Demon Sway’: Delusion, ‘It’s Not Their Future’: Denial and ‘Float’: Suicidal tendencies, ‘M?’ is without a shadow of a doubt a four-way trip to god knows where, and just about every corner of the mind; exemplifying Mystic Peach’ innate ability of documenting the “ordinary”, during exceptionally extraordinary circumstances.

Curtis Gale continues:

“It’s Not Their Future is denial. It’s obsession. The thought of looking at yourself in the mirror and discovering flaws. Going to the dark side of your mind to discover why you feel the way you do is sometimes too much for one human to take. So what now? Blame someone/thing to make out that you’re not the problem… that turns into obsession, unfortunately. To speak for others because you feel depressed too doesn’t mean you should. Just because an antidepressant didn’t work for one person – it doesn’t mean it won’t for others. Just because your views do not match theirs – it doesn’t mean they are wrong. It’s unhealthy for the mind to obsess, and the majority of people are obsessed. We are all unhealthy.”

“"Phill Reynolds" keeps the pace at a lower level and gives emphasis on even the smallest detail in sound. Folktronica production which gently cuddles its listener and introduces a new dimension in music. warm and elegant result which many artists wish to achieve.”

-Nagamag.com

The first new material since his latest album 'A Sudden Nowhere' came out earlier this year, the track features sparse and bare arrangements. A Fender Rhodes loop and minimal guitar touches are accompanied by the silky synth lines and vibrating backing vocals provided by Italian composer Iosonouncane. Phill describes it as "an SOS sent to a blurry promised land from inside a dream".

“Beautiful, exquisite ballad in which spiritual vocals and melodious mood are so harmoniously combined. The song instantly reveals its romantic promise and integrity, artistic charisma and originality.”

“Красивая, изысканная баллада, в которой так гармонично сочетаются душевный вокал и мелодичное настроение. Песня мгновенно затягивает своим романтичным посылом и цельностью, крепкой харизмой и оригинальностью. ”

Artist shared few words with Nagamag behind this song inspiration:

"I wrote this song during the Texas Freeze last year, when so many people were stuck in their homes, without heat or power, for days. I had a song due for my songwriting group that week, & the subject was something I can't remember, but all I could write about in that moment was what I—& the people around me—were experiencing. This fall I went into the studio with Brian Douglas Phillips in hopes of capturing the song with a live studio feel. I think we accomplished that."

Emily Shirley’s brand of thoughtful songwriter pop/rock is as finely tuned and brightly colored as the graphic design projects she works on for her day gig. Her latest release, DuoTone, is a genre-bending hybrid of indie-pop melodies woven over thoughtful, grounded lyrics. It represents the full, vibrant sonic image of a writer who has come into her own in the Austin, Texas scene.

A Connecticut native, Emily was steeped in church choir, musical theater, and Debbie Gibson at a young age. Classically trained on piano and a veteran of high school and college semi-pro acapella choirs, she found her place as a vocalist and writer when she joined the Boston based band Amun Ra as the lead singer, touring their soulful pop songwriting with breakbeats and electronica to clubs across the Northeast. They released 2 full length albums in her 6 years with them.

In 2006, Emily moved to Austin, Texas and realigned her musical existence. Starting over in a new city without a band as well as juggling her graphic design business and being a mom, “I had to carve out my solo space and find a way to let music work with my lifestyle,” she notes. She fell in love with the piano again and began writing and gigging; she released her EP Tiny Truths in 2010, produced by Daniel Barrett (Ruthie Foster, Susan Gibson). Reviewsic described the EP’s sound as “executed with the same old-meets-new-quirkiness of Feist.” In 2013 she found her band again, joining Austin favorite The Belle Sounds on piano, synth, and vocals. She's toured Texas and the West Coast with The Belle Sounds, performing in esteemed venues like Strange Brew in Austin and The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.

Most recently, Emily released a series of singles that culminated in the release of her 2015 EP DuoTone, now available as a limited edition disc. Featuring songs produced by Mark Hallman (Carole King, Ani DiFranco) and Daniel Barrett, DuoTone displays Emily's ability to illuminate scenes and landscapes through sound. "Suffering Soul" has a sonic palette that drops the listener in the middle of the desert, parched and desperate, searching for salvation. “Starstruck” brings a swinging piano and brassy horns to themes of nostalgia for more innocent artistic times, and hints to her list of musical influences like Nellie McKay and Rufus Wainwright. Emily Shirley’s artistic point of view and skillful sonic experimentation make for a varied and stirring repertoire. “My formative years are still happening,” she jokes when describing her musical life, the honest response of a musician and creator always on the lookout for the next spark.
