if it was indigo – Love Away – Midnight Remix (Spotify)

Aetherial emotive vocals with a dark downtempo mood and brilliant sound design with "light" harmonies not missing here.

A new project by songwriter-producers Josie Charlwood & Lef Germenlis , ‘if it was indigo’ combines contemporary electronic pop soundscapes with emotive, soulful vocals and gripping storylines.
Both established songwriters releasing under their own additional projects, ‘Love Away’ is the first release which falls under the new ‘if it was indigo’ alias. ‘Love Away’ was produced entirely from a home studio in South London, something not alluded to through its production values inspired by the likes of Nao , Sinead Harnett and Ariana Grande. Juxtaposing a somewhat uplifting sound, the lyrical content of ‘Love Away’ is melancholic and emotional, pinned around the loss of a first love

Blue shadow is a song about how often it's hard to love every side of ourself. Our "Blue Shadow" represents everything that is in us and that we often deny. Emotions and feelings often considered negative and that we must learn to accept and love. Sadness, anger, depression, discouragement. There is nothing wrong with embracing this part of us.

AFAR – Lulled and Fake (Spotify)

After hitting the stages of numerous clubs and festivals with their impressive live act, electronica duo AFAR deliver the 12th EP of Vienna’s Heimlich Musik – with Oberst & Buchner and Geju on remix duty. "Lulled and Fake" is a freshly unique piece of music consisting of dark analog synth lines and accentuated guitar notes that create a rich and powerful surface for vocals using a broad spectrum of the harmonic scale. Created in an attic in the middle of nowhere, complex rhythms are guiding the journey exploring the discrepancy between a human being’s inner soul and the constant need for self-promotion in a digital world of superficiality.

Heimlich’s own Oberst & Buchner are extending the original mix by laying down classic acid lines and arpeggiator parts while sticking to the main theme as a storyline. A stripped-down drum kit leaves just enough space for the duo's trademark hypnotic vibe to evolve through the re-imagined arrangement.

The third duo featured on the EP is Geju from Moscow, delivering the second remix for "Lulled and Fake". Their remix is based on the guitar parts while a playful rhythm is created by blending drum parts from the original mix with their own unique style. As a result, Geju transform the original mix into one of their own creations of recognizable value with the potential to create special moments on the dance floor.

Spherical ambient with eternal voices. Are you loosing your mind? You will. "Oceanic Eyes" is in the tradition of impressionism describing a feeling with music. It has a mind loosing timbre and ambigious tonality. Claude Debussy would have his pure pleasure seeing his ideas catapulted to the modern times.

The Ginkgo Biloba, also known as the 'tree of a thousand coins', is a tree that can live for more than a thousand years. _„This tree has been around for over 270 million years already, even before the dinosaurs, and will probably still be here after mankind may be gone.”_, Rone told us. This sense of permanence echoes the very nature of this new single from 'Room with A View', which carries all of Rone's DNA. The piece is set in a marvellous world where the abundance of sonorities seems to weave around a melody equally familiar as irresistible, before flying away to a choir of celestial voices.

Devault – Need To Know (Spotify)

Ruby is the third instalment of Devault’s audio-visual experience. After the gritty sounds of ‘Jade’, and the nostalgia brought on by ‘Sapphire’, Ruby takes on a more futuristic approach. A clash of 80’s like vocals with a new dark sound. Featuring collaborations with The Bloody Beetroots and Power Glove, Ruby captures the true sonic nature of Devault and his world. Darkness, tension, and release. Ruby altogether is 6 songs accompanied by a 10 minute short film divided into 3 episodes. As you take in the project and it’s visual piece, Devault’s desire to create a unique footprint in the electronic scene is taking hold.

A personal quote from Devault: “Ruby to me is full plunge into the world I’ve always wanted to rest in. This dark soundscape accompanied by an over-dramatic film piece is something I’ve had in my head for a very long time, but could never find the perfect timing. The songs are mature, but hold nothing back, and I think that will be seen as you hear each record.
