“The track -Ascent- is a real gem in the genre of downtempo. Noticeable and distinctive rhythm, sometimes reminiscent of classic trip-hop and warm ambient layers. Its hypnotic effect is guaranteed.”

“Трек -Ascent- настоящая находка в жанре downtempo. Выраженный и характерный ломаный ритм, местами напоминающий классический trip-hop и тёплые слои ambient. Гипнотическим эффект гарантирован.”

AONIAN brings his new single 'Ascent', fusing melodic, trippy electronica with Mediterranean soundscapes.

The first glimpse to Aonian's world as the first single of his upcoming debut album, it showcases a blend of contemporary electronic synths and swirling melodies, colliding with dreamy traditional and ethnic soundscapes.

With references to traditional and folk elements from his home country, the Greek born and London based producer successfully pays homage to our past and present whilst remaining loyal to an ever-changing cultural identity.

Having already established a trusted reputation in composition across media and brands (including Louis Vuitton and Glossier), AONIAN emerges from five-years of conceptual and instrumental experimentation, delivering a refreshing sound, listeners need.

His recent remix for the Glastonbury brothers - Speakman Sound - has been supported and played by DJ John Digweed in a Bunker Sessions set and his upcoming debut album has attracted interest from the likes of London start-up Remixology HQ and the recently awarded music blog Give it a Spin.

MARTIN HERZBERG – SAILS DECTO REWORK

MARTIN HERZBERG – SAILS DECTO REWORK (ENGLISH)

The „Sails“ Reworks want to enforce the confidence with which we go through foggy times. A piece of trust, also in those moments when we cannot navigate by the stars. When the view becomes murky, because our ship glides through this fog and we do not know where the wind is taking us. When the storm assails us and we hold on to the gunwale in strong waves, unaware if the morning sunlight will touch us again.

However, no panic reigns on board, since our movement comes from our own strength and we know that the storm will calm down. After the fog a clear view follows and for the rest of our way and an encouraging, deeply rewarding feeling grows that catches us when our sail goes back in the wind in all its magnificence and our ship eventually picks up speed again.

Martin Herzberg (ENGLISH)

Martin Herzberg, pianist and song writer, is moving with his music in a new direction. Instead of a record company he simply has his good friends, his piano and the internet. Martin says he has become known through "the right decisions, for the right people".

Martin studied musicology in his hometown Berlin and afterwards started to tour Germany passionately since 2012. He hired a good friend as concert manager and is accompanied by cello and lately his own string ensemble. With his camera man, a childhood friend, he shoots music videos that just capture the heart. 10 years down the line he has 25 million views on YouTube, and over 100.000 Facebook/Instagram fans and is capable of filling concert halls throughout Germany, Austria and Switzlerland. And still: his best friends are with him on the road.

Martin’s music touches your soul and allows you to escape in contemplation. He has been influenced by composers such as Ludovico Einaudi and Yann Tiersen, inspiring him with their soundtracks to „The intouchables“ and „ The fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain “, creating a wide audience for this special kind of the piano music. Martin introduces his personal touch and unites stirring soundtracks with vivid pop elements. This is why Martin's music doesn’t need a film to move you as the music itself is like the soundtrack to your own life.

Alberto Rizzo Schettino Interview on Nagamag

Categories: Features, Interviews, Neoclassical Features, Neoclassical Interviews, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

.

Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Alberto Rizzo Schettino:
I write original music for film and video games. I play piano and keyboards and in the years I have gathered quite a collection of synthesizers, guitar amps and FX pedals. This definitely drives my music towards those instruments as I like to mix elements of electronic music (ambient, downtempo, glitch etc.) with more traditional orchestral instruments (strings, brass, percussion) and ethnic sounds from Africa and the Middle East. I try and mangle these original acoustic sounds from world music to be 'assimilated' by the machines, while still retaining their contrasting features. I try to maintain a delicate and constant fight between an industrial, cyberpunk and somehow dystopian sound palette and a more organic, classical setup with roaring strings and epic orchestral elements. I guess a lot of my work with techno artists and the club scene plays a role in what I imagine would be the sound of the streets and the underground in a distant future.

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Alberto Rizzo Schettino:
I've worked as a pianist/keyboardist for artists, bands and recording studios, mostly as a session musician. I've had my good share of live gigs in rock, acid jazz and fusion setups in which I would bring my keybards, guitar amps and guitar pedals and kinda force the stage to accept my sounds. I am not a fan of playing 'realistic instruments' live, and unfortunately you can achieve pretty good ones these days with keyboards.. but for me it's either acoustic piano, vintage keys or straight up synthesizers and mangled sounds. There's no in-between. In 2007 I opened my own recording studio, called 'Fuseroom' and I started producing records and keeping the facility open to music education programs. In the past years I went back to my role of composer and joined some game development companies (among which were some good friends of mine, from high school) to write original music for their video games. Getting back to writing music by myself was an adventure and somehow reconnected me with an artistic self that I had kept asleep for a while. It was a good time to get back at it and I was able to use this momentum to release a new solo record, called 'Future in the Past', highlighting some of the most iconic elements of my sound and songwriting, in the soundtrack genre.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Alberto Rizzo Schettino:
As a kid I was lucky to have friends who one day told me on the phone: "We're making a band. What do you want to play?". It was that simple. We wanted to move from air guitars and air drums using broomsticks and empty soda bottles to playing for real. I looked around, I had a small digital keyboard I had been playing since I was in primary school and decided that I wanted to play piano and go to a real teacher. I started both classical and modern piano together and never stopped taking lessons from the day. At around 18 I felt like I had to choose and was captivated by modern music. I've played in pop/rock bands, jazz ensembles, small freestyle and acid jazz bands etc. especially when I moved my beautiful (but small) town of Firenze (Italy) to continue studying in Los Angeles. I cannot remember how many people I've played with and whose projects I joined. From there on I kept on studying, moving cities, attending to more music academies in the US and in Europe. If there was one constant that never left me is that I do not partake in projects that I do not like. I just cannot do it. I've studied to be a professional musician and I am happy to provide others with my expertise but I have to hear some kind of pulse in the project. Exposure, fame, money, you name it.. they just do not cut it in the end as I cannot go to sleep and look at myself in the mirror if I am doing something I do not genuinely and directly enjoy. I guess that spontaneous phone call from my friends when we were kids really left a mark.

Nagamag:
Is there a cliché or recurring pattern in the way you come up with a new piece of music?

Alberto Rizzo Schettino:
With the passing of time (and things become more recurring or fixed, with deadlines, revisions, team discussion, production supervisors and so on) I noticed that I start working on a song only after I can hear it in my head 'enough', over the course of a couple days. It is kinda funny to say that but once I receive the initial brief for a new music project and the team or production sends me guidelines for the vibe they are looking for, I do not sit at the instrument and try to put down ideas. I just let things breathe for a couple days and I start thinking about a tune. It might happen at the worst time or before falling asleep. If the idea is good, in a couple days I can always recall the main theme and at least the B-section that answers it. That is usually the right time for me to sit down, turn my computer on and start writing music.

Nagamag:
If you only had to keep one musical instrument, what would it be?

Alberto Rizzo Schettino:
This would be very challenging. I certainly consider the acoustic piano as my foundation but I have so many instruments that I like for their specific sound palette, some of which have almost healing properties when played, in my opinion. I would have a very hard time parting from my Voyager, Polysix, Juno-6 and Hammond, as well. Please do not make choose! ;)

Nagamag:
Most artists have a favorite song from a different music genre than the one they are producing music for... Which is yours?

Alberto Rizzo Schettino:
Andy Summers Mysterious Barricades

Nagamag:
Of Course Nagamag would love to listen also which track from a similar artist you admire?

Alberto Rizzo Schettino:
Ola Strandh Tom Clancy's The Division (Original Soundtrack)

Dreamy soundscapes from SINE. The new single "Closer" is out now

https://www.instagram.com/sineworld.de

SINE is a music project created by Thomas Hauser. Having released two albums, one EP, numerous remixes and being part of several high-class chillout/electronic compilations SINE belongs to the most active and established artists of his genre. Both albums “RUHEPOL” and “TIEFBLAU” reached top positions in various download- and CD charts. Further SINE’s music is played in well-known radiostations all over the world that are focussing on chillout and electronic music.

The musical career of Thomas Hauser started in his early childhood. He had several years of accordion lessons and later switched to keyboard. He didn’t want to focus on keyboard instruments only though which made him pick up the guitar, learning it all by himself.

He played in many different bands of different styles of music, e.g. pop, indie, punk, grunge and much more. Nevertheless he now and then needed time for himself to calm down and relax all by himself in the studio. That was the first slight hint of his future project SINE.

In 1997 he and his brother Jochen Hauser founded the production company COSMIC SOUND having their own studio and being music publisher. Many CDs of many different genres have been recorded and published there. Thomas Hauser also worked on other chillout projects which have been released on various labels. By now Thomas Hauser can look back on over 100% releases.

2008 was the year of SINE’s start. A fresh and independant project with its specially newly founded music label SINE MUSIC. The first release was the EP “CROSS THAT LINE” that caused a real stir in the chillout and ambient scene. Some songs of this EP have been played in radio stations all over the world and reached many of the genre’s relevant charts.

After these first great successes Thomas Hauser produced new songs that have been released on numerous SINE MUSIC compilations.

In December 2014 the day had finally arrived when SINE released his first album “RUHEPOL”. The album was in the German chillout charts for over six months as well as in the top ten of several download stores like iTunes. The CD was available with an included photobook. Another passion of Thomas Hauser. Photography. The photobook was sold out after just one month.

In November 2016 SINE’s second album “TIEFBLAU” was released as CD and download. SINE’s love for the oceans in this world lies in every tone of “TIEFBLAU”. A very multifaceted album presenting SINE songs of the last two years. The blue colour of the oceans is the colour of calming down and relaxation for SINE

In January 2018 SINE has released his new single “Stupid Minds“ in which you can hear him sing for the first time. A journey in musical unknown waters.

In March Sine Music has released the Remix EP Part 1 and April Part 2 of Stupid Minds. Including remixes by Thomas Lemmer, Glint, Silky Wave, Gold Lounge and many more.

SINE reappears on the screen in January 2019 with a new single „Save Me“

Nami & The Dancing Wind – She Dwells (official video) (Video)

“Experience the silent force of a great Psychill track. Original mystic atmosphere, which connects our future with the past and awakens our ancient spirit. Remarkable overall synthesis that we wish to be appreciated by a big audience.”

-Nagamag.com

She Dwells is a simple invocation of the sacred feminine force. We believe, after a long age of patriarchy, which took place over matriarchy some days in deep human history, now is the time we dive into the deep roots of humanity and bring back the living pure core. It`s a salutation to the Shakti, waiting so far in hidden places, waiting to be born fully into this world.

Misaïdu – Shinobi (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Electronica, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , , |

“Misaidu comes with a great surprice for our ears. Follow the harmonic flow of "Shinobi" with the various chilling melodies and Psydub core. A wise selection that fits in every situation.”

-Nagamag.com

Shinobi is an organic electronic track divided in two main parts. The first one is dark and enigmatic, led by a deep pad and sharp glitchy drums. All the suspense developped in the first part is resolved when the track opens itself in the second part, wich reveals a dreamy downtempo track !

Misaïdu

A fraternal duo created by Thomas and Nicolas Beau, Misaidu stands out with its hybrid music. Through "Tiger Lily" and "How To Change", featured on U.BABA Vol.1, and a single titled "Half Light", we discover a generous and powerful sound, with multiple influences, sonorities and textures. This is no accident.

On the influences side of things, both brothers have bathed into the CDs, cassettes or vinyls of their parents. Quickly, they became independent music lovers and soaked up many genres ranging from hip hop to metal, from house to jazz and IDM.

The variety of processes sculpts the landscape of Misaidu’s music. The duo mixes sampling, analog and digital synthesis, drum machines and acoustic instruments such as bass or piano. The result is a colorful and bewitching electronic music and the duo wishes first and foremost to share their emotions and love for electronic music.

Lion Child – Mixing Chemicals (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, The Latest, World Music|Tags: , , , , |

“Not always the debut work of musicians for a long time remain in the memory of us, the audience, but the self-titled album Lion Child once again proves the opposite. Swing, add to their playlists and enjoy.”

“Далеко не всегда дебютные работы музыкантов надолго остаются в памяти нас, слушателей, но одноимённый альбом Lion Child в очередной раз доказывает обратное. Качайте, добавляйте в свои плейлисты и наслаждайтесь.”

-Nagamag.com

This song is written in metaphor about a man denying his real heart and hiding behind his work and life to avoid the love of his life. Sometimes fear can dictate an unknown path and destiny is never found..

Konchord – Drowsy Dawn (Video)

Categories: Electronica, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“Konchord delivers a nice electronic piece; Drowsy Dawn with characteristic bouncy bass and overdriven melodies straight from his liveset. Enjoy the uniqueness of sound in a pleasant six-minute break.”

-Nagamag.com

At the intersection of slow melodic techno and psychedelic rock is where Konchord takes the listeners on a flight with soulful electronic music. Sometimes soft and tender, sometimes dark and deep, sometimes as bright as the sun, always with an inner compass for harmony and balance. With driving basslines, atmospheres as deep as space, synth melodies for the mind to fly high, and a hint of playful weirdness, Konchord’s music can evoke feelings of travelling through far distant galaxies in a neon light disco-spaceship.

For his live performances he plays with live synths, keys and vocals, while keeping the space for improvising on the fly.
