Josh Orange – I Feel Love (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“Dimensional rhythm, smooth and hypnotic pace along with a beautiful melody and vocals acting as a drinking glass of good weathered wine. The expressive side of -I Feel Love- is its cinematic side. There is a persistent feeling that you are sitting on a chair on the other side of the screen, where the white string is running on a black canvas like in a film ending.”

“Размеренный ритм, ровный и гипнотический темп вместе с красивой мелодией и вокалом действуют как выпитый бокал хорошего выдержанного вина. Выразительная сторона музыки - I Feel Love- это её кинематографичная сторона. Возникает стойкое чувство, что ты сидишь на кресле по ту сторону экрана, где на чёрном полотне бежит белая строка только что завершившегося фильма.”

I Feel Love is the fourth single taken from Josh Orange’s album “Midnight Lights”, as Burke explains the song……’It’s a dedication, a way of paying homage to the sheer beauty of the album “Rrakala” and the impact it had on me personally & spiritually when I first heard it.’

The First Nations artist from Elcho Island in far north Arnhem Land was born blind, yet by the age of 18 he was singing and playing in legendary band Yothu Yindi, he then went on to Co Found Saltwater band with the help of his great friend, producer and fellow musician Michael Hohnen. Worldwide fame finally came when he went solo and released four studio albums “Gurrumul” 2008, “Rrakala” 2011, “The Gospel Album” 2015 & posthumously “Djarimirri” 2018. Sadly, Dr. G Yunupingu passed away at age 46 in 2017. He sang in his native Yolnu tongue with a voice that is beyond comparison, it combined both beauty and pain in its purist form.

“The quality of the musicianship is the first thing that hits you right between the eyes quickly followed by the flawless production and superb guitar parts played by Richie Necker. With a distinct Country Rock flavour and smooth vocals, ‘He Was The King’ has a raunchy Steely Dan type vibe complete with brass, saxophone solos and a mellow pedal steel for good measure. Great Track.”

Asong off new album "New songs and untold stories"

Richie Necker has often excited his audience in germany and in neighboring european countries with his stage appearance, his guitar playing and his distinctive voice. He regularly plays over 200 concerts a year, solo or as a band member, and has accompanied many well-known stars as a “sideman” on tour, in studio and on TV shows.

The “Guitar Man” now presents his fifth solo release with the upcoming album “New songs and untold stories”. The songs are carried by wonderful melodies and strong hook lines. His music has a deep personal and emotional ambition that convinces the listener - direct, straightforward, authentic. You can immediately feel the emotions and the strong musical nature that has already stood and still stands on countless stages internationally.

Richie's life is the music, and so the "lockdown" in November 2020 was the trigger to dedicate himself to the production of a new solo album and to counter the generally unfortunate situation with his music. Because there are always enough “New songs and untold stories” to sing and tell. And that's exactly what Richie does almost single-handedly on the album. Guitar pop and rock, singer / songwriter and “Americana” songs, ballads and guitar instrumentals convince from the very first listen - direct, straightforward, authentic. Carried by wonderful melodies, strong hook lines, immediately noticeable emotions and deep musicality, which Richie Necker shows also regularly on countless stages internationally.

"Give me a new song - every day!" is Richie's answer to the current situation for musicians. So take every day as it comes, make the best of it, make music, write new songs, do your “own thing”, keep rocking through the crisis !

Short biographie:

Richie Necker is a thoroughbred musician who captures the spirit of the world language music with his guitars and his voice.

As a “sideman” he has accompanied stars from various areas of the music business on tour, in the studio and on TV shows.

Since 2002 he has been a member of the Europe-wide successful Italo band "I Dolci Signori", and was on stage for several years with the cabaret artist Hannes Ringlstetter (2012-2016). Since 2017 he can also be seen in theaters as a musician and performer of the successful musical "Azzurro".

As a solo artist and with his trio, he is on tour non-stop and is regularly producing his own albums. The 5th solo album "New songs and untold stories" has now been released on June 11th, 2021

Lara Hope and the Ark-Tones – Let’s Go! (Spotify)

“A song to remind you to ‘Keep Going’ and push harder to reach your goals when things don’t go right, or people let you down. A raunchy rockabilly style track that really motors along and encourages plenty of foot tapping. The gritty vocals by Lara Hope add another dimension to this boppy and thoroughly enjoyable ditty. ”

Kate Vargas – Church of the Misdirection (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Unique, raunchy, quirky & ever so slightly intoxicating. Allow yourself to be seduced by the silver tongued Kate Vardas as she is unwittingly transformed into an enthusiastic spiritual predator, & convinces you become a follower of the ‘Church Of Misdirection’. Go on. You know you want to.”

-Nagamag.com

“Church Of The Misdirection” was loosely inspired by Ma Anand Sheela from the documentary ‘Wild, Wild Country ’where a woman becomes enamored by a charming self-help/cult leader. The two fly all over the world together, having fancy dinners, going to parties, and living that lifestyle. She begins to feel the charming man really “gets” her and that they connect on some kind of deeper level. In “Church Of The Misdirection,” Kate sings about how Ma Anand Sheela goes from a seeker/follower, to a recruiter of sorts.

Kate shares, “We can sell anything, even the most preposterous ideas/flimsiest spiritual beliefs, if it looks good on the outside, if we speak about it enthusiastically. What started as a simple search to find oneself, to connect with the world, sees this person being transformed into a kind of “spiritual” predator without her ever knowing.”

Leeroy Stagger-Ventura (Video)

Categories: Rock, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“In -Ventura-, as if watching the illusory journey of the artist, enjoy with him the sunlight and mirages of invisible phantoms. Surprisingly, you fully live all 4 minutes of this track. Exact and multifaceted, bright and clean, romantic and warm moments…”

“В -Ventura- ты словно следишь за иллюзорным путешествием исполнителя, вместе с ним наслаждаешься солнечными бликами и миражами невидимых фантомов. Удивительно, но ты полностью проживаешь все 4 минуты трека. Волнующие и многогранные, светлые и чистые, романтичные и такие тёплые мгновения…”

Leeroy Stagger finds inspiration through grief on his new single ‘Ventura’ out today on all digital streaming platforms.

“The song ‘Ventura’ is about my friend Neal Casal,” says Leeroy. “The first time I met Neal was on a magical night in New York City, he was working on Willie Nelson’s Songbird record as he was in Ryan Adams’ band The Cardinals at the time. He invited us out to the 17th St. bar where all the Cardinals were hanging out, he introduced me to the band and they all had laughed how they were happy that Ryan wasn’t there because they didn’t want me to have a bad impression of him.

“Neil was always enthusiastic. We ran into him a few years later in Nottingham, England, where Ryan was playing the big theatre. Neal came out for coffee with me and my wife Coby and always had such nice things to say about my music and my career. He even sang on my Everything Is Real record, which was such an honour for me. Before he tragically passed, we had been in touch about him possibly playing guitar on some new music I was working on.

“I wanted to pay tribute to my friend in song. When it came time to make a video, I thought it would be very cool to have something surf related, as Neal was such a big surfer. He loved the ocean. I found this great old surf footage from California in the 50s on YouTube and approached the fellow who owned it (Wes Timmons) who also happened to be a film editor. He lovingly edited the video into the dream state we see. It fits perfectly to the song and is a beautiful tribute to Neal.”

‘Ventura’ is the first single from Leeroy Stagger’s new album Dystopian Weekends, which is set for release on October 1st. Recorded at Afterlife Studios in Vancouver at the beginning of the global pandemic, Leeroy says that “Dystopian Weekends is the serum of truth with a slice of light and darkness that we all need right now.”

John Bird Jr. – Mariana (Spotify)

“Such works can be listened to infinity. The melodic shades of acoustic guitar and vocals are more than fascinating. All this elegant melancholy in the composition -Mariana- makes you think about something important and disturb the most secret corners of your soul.”

“Подобные работы можно слушать до бесконечности. В невесомости парят завораживающие оттенки мелодии — гитарные, вокальные, акустические. Вся эта элегантная меланхолия в композиции -Mariana- заставляет задуматься о чем-то важном и потревожить самые тайные уголки вашей души.”

-Nagamag.com

Artist shared few words behind this song inspiration with Nagamag:

https://sonderhouse.ffm.to/mariana

"The song began with her name and a simple melody, she was an old friend who now unfortunately is no longer with us. When we were kids we shared memories and got lost in the woods and now alone I reflect on the innocence and playfulness of that childhood.

Written in my London bedroom, recalling stories of growing up in Ireland, I created an organic yet contemporary approach to a fresh folk song that whispers mystery and beauty. As the music develops and new sounds are introduced, waking the ambience, the listener gets drawn in to the magic of the memory." - John Bird Jr.

John Bird Jr. grew up in a small village in Ireland and was surrounded by songs and stories that built the foundations for his career as a musician. John has a decade spent performing around the world, alongside artists Niall Horan, Jack Savoretti, Gabrielle Aplin, Hudson Taylor and many more and has now developed his own writing style that is inspired by his roots, drawing influence from the harmonies of Simon & Garfunkel, the melancholic melodies of José González and the heartache emotion of Ray LaMontagne.

Jake Aaron – Give Me Your Horse (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Jazz, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Reading like a British musician’s who’s who cast, the line-up of the band includes among other celebs, non-other than Pink Floyd bassist ‘Guy Pratt’ Don’t let that fool you into thinking Psychedelic Rock though. Think instead a Hammond organ right out of the 70’s, and Mexican style western movie theme type trumpet. ‘Give Me Your Horse’ by Jake Aaron is creative & a lot of fun.”

-Nagamag.com

https://jakeaaron.com/

Jake Aaron is a British guitarist and songwriter whose first EP of acoustic pieces was released in 2015 to positive reviews from folk and indie reviewers, gaining him a small, appreciative audience.

His 2018 single “Give Me Your Horse” was a bigger, jazzier number which had airplay on both Folk stations as well as Jazz including the BBC’s Jazz Nights. His debut album “Fag Ash and Beer” was released in September 2019, a collection of songs, longer lyrical offerings and instrumentals. It was nominated for Debut Album of The Year by Fatea Magazine.

"One of the most surprisingly good albums I've heard in a very long time.” Roots & Fusion

"Simply calling Aaron a guitarist and songwriter is a little like calling Warhol a painter - it misses the mark by miles." Tim Carroll - FolkWords

"This next one is a treat. It's fun, it's creative, it’s written very intelligently, it's played very well by Jake Aaron the guitarist and the band - Steve Lodder on Hammond, Guy Pratt on bass, Marc Parnell on drums, Steve Waterman on trumpet - some of the best players in the UK. It's unusual, it's also gonna put a smile on your face. Think Mariachi, think 1800s, kind of Western, America, Mexico and this will finally seal it for you - the track title - Give Me Your Horse! Give Me Your Horse! What a brilliant name! I think there's a Movie Soundtrack in this one actually..."" Linley Hamilton, BBC Ulster Jazz World with Linley Hamilton

a song about growing in up in Texas... life and death in Harlingen tx... El Paso Tx

https://www.tolergibson.com/

Toler Gibson is a group of mountain dwellers living high above the clouds in California.

It started when Gibson, a Canadian born, Texas raised Angeleno moved from LA to the mountains of Idyllwild and met Toler, a Seattle born and raised Angeleno who had moved to Idyllwild from LA, three years prior. The two bonded on their love of country, folk, & psychedelic music and immediately started pickin’ and singin’ their favourite classics in one cabin or another. Toler Gibson was born.

The two have been in multiple other known bands such as Bell Gardens, Furry Things, Winter Flowers, Old Gold, as well as releasing solo material. TG started by playing their favourite old country tunes in the bars and roadhouses in Idyllwild but eventually turned into a fully fledged band. The band expanded when drummer Charlie Woodburn and bass player Rob Hume landed in Idyllwild from LA, then adding Drew Manne as their main pedal steel player. The band played their first original set at Grand Ole Echo in LA in 2018.

The boys started slowly tracking “The Days Before” in Gibson’s Heavy Meadows studio through 2019. They found a home with London based indie label Rocket Girl Records.
