Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“Gabrielle Current is responsible for this awesome work. Low bpm R&B, full with elegant loops, relaxing beat and the super hot singing voice from a favourite artist. The last in playlist is usually the best. “Down the Line” could be last too!”

-Nagamag.com

24-year-old Gabrielle Current returns to the forefront of moody, bedroom R&B-meets-pop scene with her newest track “Down The Line,” due out next week.

In “Down the Line,” gorgeous melancholic piano reels you in and soon after, Current’s silky and nostalgic vocals follow. The broody melody quickly evolves as the tempo shifts in the chorus and gives us some classic ’90s throwback feels. Current muses on the importance of independence and self-love as she hums the poignant line “I’m satisfied with being on my own.”

Gabrielle shares, “‘Down the Line’ definitely set the tone for this project. It was the first song I wrote for the EP and all the songs that followed are really just extensions of the struggle I felt during that time. It’s a reflection of my ability to process change and experience the freedom that comes with it. It was through the letting go of a familiar relationship that I gained an independence and a type of freedom that could only come from me.”

Proclaimed as a “stellar talent” by tastemakers like This Song is Sick, Earmilk, Indie Shuffle and numerous others, “Down The Line” is a strong follow-up to Current’s highly praised singles “Plenty” and Undercover” and bound to put the rising act on your artists-to-watch radar in 2021.

“This sultry new tune has everything you could want from a proper slow burner.”

“tasteful sensibilities and stellar talent make it clear that Gabrielle Current has musical maturity beyond her years” -Earmilk

“hits the sweet spot between pop, jazz, and R&B.” – Neon Music

“soul-steeped weightiness.” – Indie Shuffle

The Los Angeles born-and-bred Gabrielle grew up surrounded by the arts. Having spent much of her childhood and teen years modeling, Gabrielle was exposed to the creative industries at a formative age and spent her free time at a weekend performing arts school. After high school, Gabrielle discovered the magic of songwriting. Littered with metaphors and poetic structure, Gabrielle’s authentic and raw lyricism is at once refreshing and relatable.

Current has worked with notable producers including FINNEAS, Kaskade, Cassian, and Felix Cartal and her voice has reached the ears of millions. Now she is stepping out as an artist in her own right. Additionally, she’s worked with notable producers Mark Pelli (Sabrina Claudio, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez) in LA, and Charlie Perry (Jorja Smith, BTS) in London and her forthcoming debut EP was created in collaboration with Austin Brown (Hablot Brown).

London, UK: 18th February 2021 – Rising Nashville-based singer songwriter Ivory Layne releases her debut EP ‘Confetti’ today, alongside focus track ‘Lonely Hearts’.

A collection of powerfully emotive songs that shows the breadth of and scope of Layne’s talents, the ‘Confetti’ EP includes critically acclaimed singles ‘December’, a surging rush of modern day soul pop, and Layne’s rousing feminist anthem ‘God Save The Queens’.

Meanwhile, the heart-crushing title track outlines just why Billboard tipped her to become “the new Adele”, while ‘Lonely Hearts’ is a sublime combination of classic songwriting and widescreen production that places her in the sphere of contemporary pop polymaths like Maggie Rogers.

Produced by Nick Atkinson and Edd Holloway aka The Barn Productions (Lewis Capaldi, Gabrielle Aplin, Dean Lewis) Jimmy Robbins (Keith Urban, Maren Morris, Miranda Lambert) and Ivory herself, the Confetti EP is Ivory’s first UK release since signing with Justin Timberlake’s development company Villa 40 and showcases the unique voice and masterful songwriting that caused Timberlake to sit up and take notice of Ivory’s talents.

Layne says; ‘In a world constantly asking “what do you believe?”, I see the Confetti EP as my answer. It’s been my musical collection of lessons learned over the last seven years, touching on themes of personal growth, heartbreak, love, mental health, and letting go. I began this EP having barely co-written, never been in a relationship, still new to Nashville, and with one academic trip abroad under my belt. I finished writing it last year in London, having visited so many times it felt like home, crafting songs about dates gone wrong for the right reasons and the beauty found in every season when you take the time to look. I’m still writing as I’m living, it’s the nature of art itself, but the Confetti EP will always hold a special place as the diary of my early twenties, where I’ve been and where I want to go.”

Tipped for stardom by the likes of Billboard, V Magazine and Live Nation’s Ones To Watch, Layne’s remarkable talent has garnered critical acclaim as well as attracting a wealth of stellar collaborators.

In just a few years, she’s worked with Grammy award-winning producer Ed Cash (Dolly Parton, Amy Grant) on her debut EP; collaborated with Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness and Needtobreathe; written for other artists alongside co-writes with some of Nashville’s finest including Jimmy Robbins, Shane McAnally and Lori McKenna. Layne’s sharpness in the writer’s room has also landed her two global ad campaigns, one for prestigious jewellery house Swarovski and another for cable giant, HBO.

The Confetti EP is primed to cement Layne’s reputation as one of the world’s finest, rising female talents.

“From where to start and where to end for this blissful song? Wins your attention from the first milliseconds! The sound layering and atmosphere here is brilliant, Emily Coulston impressive vocal capabilities comes to give the secret spice of a wonderful recipe that has been cooked here. This is a memorable song, which invites you to listen again and again on repeat! ”

-Nagamag.com

The track had an unlikely birth. du0 tells the story: “The three of us were among nine musicians invited to attend AMPLIFY, QMusic’s Songwriting Retreat at Heliport Studios in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland in Queensland, Australia. It was amazing and incredibly hectic. We were rotated in groups of three and had to come up with a song from scratch, and produce and record it in 4 hours. We did this five times in three days.”

The result, Come Home, has had 1,107,000 streams on Spotify, but little radio play so far. And now the acoustic video is going off on YouTube. There may be something in this, we don’t know. Hopefully you can help us find out what it is.

Emina Sonnad – Aperol (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“A new surprice from Emina Sonnad is here. Sophisticated piano-driven song with the singer’s sensual voice echoing elusively in your head! Regardless your music preferences, “Aperol” worths the listening.”

-Nagamag.com

Aperol is a tribute to being unapologetically yourself even when your world is falling apart. I wrote this song while feeling very abandoned at the beginning of the pandemic. I was going through a rough breakup and had unexpectedly ended up quarantining alone in a foreign country, which gave me a lot of time to think about what it means to love someone, and what it means to stand your ground in the face of heartbreak. I remember walking home from the grocery store one night and being stopped by a couple who had spotted a line of strange lights in the sky. It was surreal, just standing there with two strangers and staring up at the sky in silence, wondering if the world was about to end and realizing it wouldn’t surprise me at all. The guy had his arms wrapped around his girlfriend as if he wanted to be as close to her as possible, just in case. Turns it was only some satellites, but in that moment it hit me, “yes, I deserve to be with someone who would stay by my side for the end of the world.” I think having this sense of self advocacy makes it easier to embrace the absurdity of your pain when things get bad. It’s kind of like looking in the mirror and saying “I see you, and you are absolutely ridiculous, but I love you anyway.”

Emina Sonnad is an American singer-songwriter who stumbled upon her musical identity after unexpectedly losing her job teaching English in Madrid. In an effort to find her place in an unfamiliar city, she attended her first open stage night at Sala Alive. Her soft, melancholic voice cut through the chaos of the bar, captivating the crowd, and she was quickly swept away by the vibrancy of the Spanish music scene. Mentored by a tight-knit community of indie musicians, Emina spent the year songwriting, performing in small venues and recording her first single, “Pretending to See Stars,” a dark, introspective ballad self released in 2018. The song’s distinctively wistful vocals caught the attention of Germany’s emerging deep house artist Pretty Pink, who invited Emina to co-write and feature on her next project. The resulting collaboration, “Overrated” was released through Found Frequencies and streamed by millions, bringing Emina to Berlin with a newly acquired taste for electronic music and an unapologetic desire to grow as an artist. Splitting her time between writing techno toplines, hosting open-mic nights in Berlin’s trendy Space Meduza Bar, and releasing an acoustic EP with folk-pop project Half a Disaster, Emina gained a small but dedicated local fanbase, whose support encouraged her to spend the entirety of the 2020 lockdown creating something more personal. Teaming up with Berlin producer Edgar Möller, she recorded six of her original songs, culminating in a record deal with UK based label At Swim Music. Emina’s upcoming releases invite listeners to pause and take comfort in the bleakness, the beauty and the absurdity of everyday life.

ELUNIA – Borderlines (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“"Singer, composer, producer and performer; it's all ELUNIA.
Her single Borderlines delves into the depths of the visual and auditory textures of her subconscious. Lyrics vibrating in my chest, a cloud of melody and unearthly beauty of vocals. ELUNIA is an impression you dare not pause. "”

“Певица, композитор, продюсер и исполнитель; всё это она - ELUNIA.

Её сингл Borderlines погружает в глубины визуальные и слуховые текстуры её подсознания. Вибрирующая в груди лирика, облако мелодии и неземной красоты вокал. ELUNIA - впечатление, которое вы не посмеете поставить на паузу.”

-Nagamag.com

ELUNIA’s breakout song "Borderlines" and her visual for the track should be on your radar. The singer-songwriter-producer will release the high concept clip Thursday, February 18th. The video will feature the essence of ELUNIA’s personal battle with her self-expression.

The self-made video for the New Hampshire native’s lush track "Borderlines" evokes the artist's inner turmoil of being torn between two halves of her personality, resulting in a stylish representation of the core of the song. Her battle with identity is on full display as the protagonist paints an array of multicolor strokes across her face while ELUNIA sings “I'm alive but I don't fit into reality.” ELUNIA’s knack for storytelling shines through her ability to connect her soaring, incisive lyrics to the duality of her performative and real self.

ELUNIA collaborated with multi-million streamed producer JMAC (Haux, Luz) to create “Borderlines".

Sivilian’s love for storytelling resonates throughout his recent foray onto the international music scene. His melancholic vocals weave secret messages across an elaborate soundscape of synths and samples.

The single «Invisible to Automatic Doors» marked his debut on the international music scene. Usually writing his songs on an acoustic guitar, he initially struggled to bring his latest pop vision to paper. It was an impromptu phone recording of automatically closing doors in the Budapest metro that finally brought him the breakthrough. Used as a sample throughout the track, these subway doors ended up setting the musical foundation.
