“Taken from Amaya's EP "No Way Back" this song is a representative example of her advanced singing capabilities. Cinematic sound touch full of mystery, with a supernatural approach that is worth exploring.”

-Nagamag.com

This is the third single from Amaya from her EP "No Way Back".

'Demons In The Dark' continues the thematic direction of AMAYA’s debut EP - underscored by dark undercurrents and a sense of urgency, without any clear resolution. Blending classical influences with modern pop but with a darker tone, this new single expresses a sense of hopelessness and trying to find one's way in the darkness.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Amaya began playing piano and violin at an early age. Throughout her early career, she advanced her musicology studies by exploring haunting classical compositions. Now based in London, this still inspires her dramatic, cinematic style of songwriting.

Blending orchestral elements with dark pop and electronic influences, Amaya continues to evolve her distinctive and unmistakable sound today.

“The song -Backseat- is exactly what you expect in cold, sultry evenings. Bright, incredibly positive vocal opera singer -Sarah Tay- with a very energetic melody provide us a lot of pleasure while listening.”

“Песня -Backseat- именно то, чего так ожидаешь холодными, знойными вечерами. Яркий, невероятно позитивный вокал оперной певицы -Sarah Tay- и мелодичная, но весьма энергичная мелодия доставит уйму удовольствия при прослушивании.”

-Nagamag.com

Artist shared with us few thoughts behind this inspiration: "This song rose out of a need to understand and discover who I am and what I'm meant to accomplish in life. I am a mirror image identical twin, and therefore thought I was destined to not only be in competition with others, but with someone I have always been told IS me. This song has become more than its original intent, leading me into the realization that you are allowed to BE. There is no competition, and never has been. You are only in the backseat of your life so long as you decide to stay there."

Ullie Swan – Alzheimer (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“Song -Alzheimer- from French singer -Ullie Swan- corresponds to the level that you expect to hear from the performer in its class. Melancholic and very sincere work.”

“Песня -Alzheimer- в исполнение французской певицы -Ullie Swan- соответствует тому уровню, который ожидаешь услышать от исполнителя такого класса. Меланхоличная и очень искренняя работа.”

-Nagamag.com

This song is about Alzheimer’s disease. Specifically she talks about someone whose mother is affected by Alzheimer’s disease and who no longer remembers her child. She talks about all those memories that are forgotten forever, and the anguish and the situation that this causes. This song was entirely produced by Ullie Swan.

https://www.instagram.com/ullieswan

Ullie Swan is a french singer, songwriter, multi musician, self-taught producer and sound addict. She just released her new album “6%” on every digital platform. Her album is made solo from the first note to the mix and was recorded in her studio in the South of France “Swaman Productions”.

6% is about human emotions, it’s like a musical healing process. A mix of dark pop, electronica, ambient the album is influenced by the likes of: Archive, Portishead, Radiohead, IAMX, Muse and Lana del Rey… Her songs deal with apologies, depression, Alzheimer disease, personal reconstruction, self-confidence, doubts, growing up in a strange world far from children’s dreams, invisible scars, and pain, love, positive mindset and the law of attraction.

It all started with classical training when she was six years old. She learned the flute at the music conservatory for 10 years but wanted to stop to learn guitar and piano on her own. Music production has been part of her daily life since she was 20 years old and she never stopped since. She learned watching tutorials online, practicing a lot, sharing with professionals, asking some questions..

Over the years, she built her recording studio because she didn’t want to use what she had learned just for her personal projects. “Music becomes immortal if it’s recorded. Music should not be reserved for an elite. Recording your voice is an experience to live, it’s like jumping in a parachute. It’s all about emotions and pleasure.”

She also recently recorded from her phone the Kamala’s Harry’s historical speech to create a song called “Kamala’s speech”, available everywhere..

A report released in 2018 looked at the Grammy nominees and those who made it on the year end Billboard Hot 100 chart between 2012 and 2017. The research revealed that only 2 percent of producers are women. Ullie founded in January 2020 a group to try to bring together all the “female music producers of the world”. They can help each other, share on every subject, organize some meets up in different cities, do collabs.. “Female producers are so under represented year by year, it’s important to gain visibility for the next generations. We are all connected. When a woman succeeds, all women win. You’re not alone. We’ re in this together, and stronger than never, it’s time to change these statistics.”

LO-FI PRODUCER KINA COLLABORATES WITH MOKITA ON NEW TRACK “I’M NOT GOING BACK”

Platinum-selling producer Kina has shared his latest track “I’m Not Going Back” featuring Nashville-based singer Mokita. Listen HERE. The song blends Mokita’s rich, unique vocals with Kina’s signature lo-fi beats and is released today alongside a lyric video. Watch HERE.

In speaking about the collaboration, Kina says: “"I discovered Mokita thanks to Spotify shuffle – I remember when ‘Colorblind’ started playing; I was shocked and kept this song on loop for a long time, so I needed to make a song with him…and now here's ‘I'm Not Going Back.’ We worked remotely because of the COVID situation (and because I'm in Lisbon and he's from the US), but the song was born in an incredibly difficult but inspirational period that I was living in. I'm so happy with the final result simply because it completely represents my mood during that period of time."

Mokita adds: “‘I’m Not Going Back’ was one of those songs that I wrote really quickly, it happened in like 15 minutes. I wrote it about battling addictions and just how much easier it is to feed your addictions than it is to work at a relationship. I’ve been sober for almost 2 years now, and I remember the morning that I finally woke up and knew I was done... I kept repeating the title in my head, ‘I’m not going back.’ I think that can apply to so many things that are unhealthy for us. We kinda have to preach to ourselves against our demons and addictions, and remind ourselves why we stepped away. I have been a fan of Kina’s for a while so when he reached out about this song it was a no brainer. Super excited for everyone to hear it and grateful he wanted to work together on this one.”

“I’m Not Going Back” follows the release of Kina’s “Tell Me About You” (feat. Mishaal) late last year as well as his recent collaboration with Cavetown on “Sharpener’s Calling Me Again.” In April 2020, the 21-year-old producer released his debut EP Things I Wanted To Tell You, featuring the likes of Au/Ra, Pink Sweat$, and Adrianna Proenza. Included on the project is Kina’s breakout hit “Get You The Moon” (feat. Snøw), which has accumulated over 2.5 billion streams worldwide and is RIAA Platinum certified in the US, Mexico, Australia, Sweden and Canada. Furthermore, his track “Can We Kiss Forever” has tallied 2 billion+ streams globally. Kina’s music continues to grow and resonate with listeners, now surpassing over 11M TikToks created using his songs.

Stay tuned for more from Kina coming soon!

About Kina:

Italian producer Kina broadcasts his secrets through lo-fi pop transmissions teeming with the emotion and release of a midnight confession. His bare honesty registers on a global scale with an understated, yet seismic impact. Since 2017, the Naples-born Italian producer and artist has quietly emerged as a bona fide phenomenon with over 5 billion streams, Platinum certifications, acclaim from Refinery29 and Idolator, and an average of 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

His breakthrough 2018 single “Get You To The Moon” [feat. Snøw] initially exploded on Tik Tok as Columbia Records called and signed him. Eventually, the track garnered a platinum plaque from the RIAA, appeared in an episode of On My Block, and posted up 1 billion total streams and counting. It also paved the way for his 2020 EP, Things I Wanted To Tell You. Inspired by a stint in Lisbon, the latter boasted the gold-selling “Can We Kiss Forever?” [feat. Adriana Proenza], “Where R U?” [feat. Pink Sweat$], and “Feel Again” [feat. Au/Ra], which Clash praised as a “wonderful future pop bouncer.” Along the way, he also remixed music for Natalie Taylor, StaySolidRocky, and many others.

About Mokita:

For some artists, music might be an exercise in aesthetics, written emotionally guarded at arm’s length, or from the perspective of another. But for artists like Nashville’s Mokita, it’s an unrelentingly honest, deeply personal, unwaveringly confessional form of expression, an outlet to tackle the sincerest of subjects many songwriters are all-too-often afraid to address with such candor, in a style that bridges Mokita’s classical training and singer-songwriter upbringing with his work as a producer and a penchant for crafting layered and atmospheric modern electro-pop.

While 2019’s 4201 marked Mokita’s debut EP, a string of singles, remixes, stripped down releases, and collaborations had already netted the independent artist hundreds of millions of streams in the preceding years, leading to collaborations with artists like R3HAB, Lost Frequencies, and most recently, Ella Vos. Though still operating as a writer and producer within Nashville’s flourishing pop scene and beyond, and tackling remixes for an eye-popping array of national talent, it’s his own work, the earnest culmination of a lifetime of musical experience, that most definitively sets Mokita apart, as he continues to rise through the ranks as an exciting fixture of the electronic and pop scene.

Young-Borra – U Get What U Pay 4 (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Blogwave, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“We can't resist at one more Nu-disco candy as the crystal synthesizer loops fill the air with energy bubbles! Don't miss this fabulous dancing vibe from Young-Borra. Truly special and proffessional.”

-Nagamag.com

— NYC-based Young-Borra shares his latest offering “U Get What U Pay 4” on Casablanca Sunset Records.

Born in the Bronx and raised in New York City, Jonas Young-Borra (AKA Young-Borra) is today’s answer to yesterday’s pop-star. He believes in quality over quantity in a world that is flooded with the latter. He listens more than he speaks and speaks more when he needs to. He is well-informed and he is a much-needed character in a character business.

His new single, “U Get What U Pay 4” is an anthemic 80s-esque tune that features uplifting instrumentation highlighted by infectious sing-a-long vocals, groovy up-tempo rhythm, and dangerously energetic synth melodies. The song is also highlighted by an explosive guitar solo in the second half recorded by the legendary New York-based guitarist Paul Pesco. Pesco is best known for penning a portion of the guitar arrangement in Madonna’s “Lucky Star” and C+C Music Factory’s jock-jam “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now),” in addition to working closely with a number of superstars like Hall & Oates, Jennifer Lopez and more.

As a singer-songwriter and artist, Young-Borra is no stranger to working alongside talented musicians. “U Get What U Pay 4” was produced by the NYC-based producer Alex Suarez (AKA LEFTI) who is known for his involvement in the band Cobra Starship. Borra's father is a jazz musician who played saxophone with a number of artists including shows with Phoebe Legere and Huey Lewis & the News. His mother was also a talented Broadway actress/singer.

Recently doubling down on his artist career, Borra draws from his previous work experience as an event curator, DJ, doorman and promoter in some of New York’s best clubs. Many of these experiences influence the context of his music and lyrical input; nightlife, heartbreak, striving for love and success, relationships, sex, parties, breakups, makeups and living under the bright lights of the big city. Now, after several years of creating, producing and fine-tuning his sound, Young-Borra is releasing his original material; ushering in a new wave of music to accompany the start of the new decade. Look out!
