Gifts From Crows – The Day Before Tomorrow

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“A beautiful Neoclassical drawing on an invisible but tangible canvas. The orchestral arrangement gives an epic touch to the composition, but at the same time retains all its tenderness with a slight dose of melancholy.”

“Прекрасная неоклассический рисунок на невидимом, но таком осязаемом полотне. Оркестровая аранжировка придаёт некоторую эпичность композиции, но при этом сохраняя всю её нежность с лёгким и очень светлым налётом меланхолии.”

The phrase 'The Day Before Tomorrow' is Zen-like koan designed to make us reflect on our real life, on what is actually happening in the here and now. The photograph that inspired the piece depicts a black tulip. Nothing is more perishable than a flower. If we are always thinking about what will happen in the future then we miss the beauty right in front of our eyes.

This track is from the new album ‘Stories in Slow Light. It was recorded at Swallow Studios in Smallwood and features members of the string section of the Northern Film Orchestra.

“The depth of the emotional message combined with the Cinematic sound, creates a complete musical canvas. This composition is like an entertaining monologue that helps you absorb all its beauty and really love this work.”

“Глубина эмоционального посыла, в сочетании с оркестровой музыкой, создают полноценное музыкальное полотно. Эта композиция как душевный монолог, который помогает вам впитать в себя всю свою красоту и по-настоящему полюбить это произведение.”

A yearning melancholic piece, ideally to be played on a lonely bandstand in a windy autumn park. Equally suited to the comfort of your own home. It is a wash of metallic effects with several cello parts, bass and keyboards.

“We tend to live in a hurry and suffer from anxiety. Just pause for a moment to take a breath from the endless daily rush. Let the music clean your mind and the simplicity of Solo Piano sound to restore your lost inner balance. This is "Liberosis".”

liberosis

n. the desire to care less about things—to loosen your grip on your life, to stop glancing behind you every few steps

This release expresses the feeling of anxiety and wishing not to care so much about the things that cause such feelings. It's a peaceful song I wrote to soothe my mind as I sleep, with a bridge towards the conclusion that is very minimal and celebrates silent space between chords.

Diane Arkenstone & David Arkenstone – The White Stallion

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“"The White Stallion" is a truly fabulous work! It carries the spirit of mythology, the crystal sound of steel swords, the glory of unicorns and flying dragons, which cut the streams of cold air. Feel the adventure in the charm of Neoclassical music!”

“-The White Stallion- по-настоящему сказочное произведение! В нём чувствуется дух мифологии, звон стальных мечей, пение единорогов и взмах крыльев драконов, которые словно лезвие разрезают потоки холодного воздуха. Почувствуйте дух приключения в очарование неоклассической музыки!”

-Nagamag.com

This is the fourth track from Diane and her longtime GRAMMY-nominated composing and producing partner David Arkenstone on their new album, written from the Queen’s perspective, ‘Avalon: Between Earth and Sky’. "We both love Celtic history, myths and magic, which is why we wrote the first Avalon album. And this new album is the continuation of the first one but from the feminine point of view, as the feminine energy gains power and recognition in the world, and keeps Avalon alive, on into the future.” ‘The White Stallion’ is an orchestral and cinematic masterpiece that “represents the rise of a spiritual energy, leaving behind negative energies, so as to create a more compassionate, loving world”. Diane's music has been featured on Amazon's Spa and Meditation channels for many years, and the original Avalon album has garnered millions of streams since release. This is a gorgeous fantasy album with full orchestration, live players, and vocalizations.

“Inspired by one of the most crucial spiritual values, this Classical gem tries to depict it through piano melodies. The unique balance in sound, minimal character and unpredictable progression, have successfully helped to make this possible. This is your chance to discover the true meaning of "Freedom".”

Artist said about this song:

"This relelase was born with mission to express freedom and its importance from all points of view, order to see the pure essence and meaning of freedom and describe it through my music. The artwork of the song was generated by an AI using as a reference the word "Freedom"."

“Imagine the night sky strewn with stars sparkling in the distance. Their faint light ignites warm rays of hope inside you, instilling a light and pleasant melancholy into your weary souls. A beautiful Neoclassical production with amazing vocals.”

Fyfe and Iskra Strings today share a fresh glimpse into their eagerly anticipated ‘Interiority’ album by sharing the brand new track ‘Night Sky’. Set to be released on June 10th, ‘Interiority’ will be the duo’s first full album together after previously releasing two self-titled EPs, which were combined in 2019’s ‘Extended Play’ collection.

‘Night Sky’ perfectly encapsulates the duo’s ability to conjure evocative images with their multi-textured soundscapes. Initially the song establishes that nocturnal mood by drawing heavily on Iskra Strings’ neo-classical roots. Suddenly and surprisingly it takes flight, with swooning vocal layers and increasingly bombastic strings adding an adventurous streak to its beguiling beauty. Listen HERE.

‘Night Sky’ is indicative of the broad scope of the ‘Interiority’ album. It’s a track that offers something completely different to the existential, ethereal alt-kilter pop of the previously released title track or the hypnotically haunting ‘’, which features Mysie. Despite those sonic differences, there’s a cohesive sense of boundary-breaking throughout, especially with the input of further special guests including Ghostpoet, Rae Morris, Aquilo and Kelly Lee Owens.

‘Interiority’ is available to pre-order or pre-save HERE.

All vinyl copies of the album will be produced using recycled vinyl. The Super Deluxe package is also sure to be a future collectors’ item. Limited to just 25 copies, it features a section of the original painting of the album’s sleeve which will be signed by artist Dan Whiteson; a personal handwritten note from Fyfe & Iskra Strings; and copies of the album on both vinyl and CD.

While ‘Interiority’ often pulsates with an otherworldly ambience, the duo’s back story is completely down-to-earth. The duo first met in the London suburb of Acton almost twenty years ago, when Iskra Strings (James Underwood) was hired to give Fyfe (Paul Dixon) violin lessons. They remained friends as their careers took off: Iskra Strings becoming a go-to collaborator for the likes of The xx, Maribou State and Sufjan Stevens, while Fyfe released acclaimed solo albums such as ‘Control’ and ‘The Space Between’. Their collaboration on ‘Extended Play’ showed the endless possibilities that could come with a full album project together – and that will be fully realised with the release of ‘Interiority’.

Felix Rösch – Berceuse Rework

“This Neoclassical composition will fill you with warm sensations that will smoothly cool down, like a cup of warm tea in your hands. Music that is able to pick up the key to your soul and maintain the necessary balance of harmony and peace inside it.”

“Эта неоклассическая композиция наполнит вас тёплыми ощущениями, которые будут плавно остывать, словно кружка тёплого чая в ваших руках. Музыка, которая способна подобрать ключ к вашей душе и сохранить в ней необходимый баланс гармонии и умиротворения. ”

After the great success of ‘Berceuse’ — with radio plays from New York’s WQXR, to UK’s Scala radio, film synchronizations and beautiful playlist adds — it only felt natural to re-imagine this piece for my upcoming album ‘Fragmente’. While staying true to the original melody, this rework for string quartet and electronics shines a whole new light onto the quiet timbre of this gentle lullaby.

Berlin-based composer Felix Rösch blends his years of experience as a classical composer and his passion for experimental electronic music into colorful, carefully constructed arrangements and contemplative ambiences.

His music is inspired by contemporary classical composers like John Adams, Henryk Górecki, and Anders Hillborg as well as artists like Rival Consoles, Max Richter and Ben Frost.

His latest EP ‘Piano’ — out May 28 — meshes fluid piano improvisations with carefully constructed layers of analog synthesizers and delicate string arrangements. The EP was entirely produced live on YouTube. On Feb 3 the second single ‘Interlude II’ from ‘Piano’ was released. “This track started as a piano improvisation, where I was fascinated by the idea of stoically repeating the most rudimentary two-note chord possible. That simplicity felt very liberating like I just hit the bottom of something I still can't really describe. From there everything else fell into place pretty quickly. This is probably my favorite piece on this EP.” Felix says.

‘Piano’ follows 2020’s ‘MYA’ and ‘str:orchestra’, which were featured in Spotify’s Fresh Finds, Classical New Releases, and Not Quite Classical playlists, and were licensed to a global Burberry advertisement campaign.

Over the past ten years, his orchestral compositions have frequently been performed and recorded by world-renowned orchestras like the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg and the WDR Symphony Orchestra & Choir. He has won several awards and scholarships and his music can be heard in countless theater performances, audiobook soundtracks, and film scores.

“Sometimes music seems to invite you in a dance. This instrumental composition makes wonders. It takes you by the hand and lifts you to the heavens, where on an invisible platform of white clouds, vibrates with you in the melody of a piano.”

“Бывает, что музыка словно призывает вас потанцевать с ней. Это инструментальная композиция творит чудеса. Она берёт вас за руку и уносит в поднебесье, где на невидимой платформе из белых облаков вальсирует вместе с вами под мелодию фортепиано.”
