Two of Us – Get Love (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“In life, chasing your dreams is not that easy at all. If you stop for a moment and look around, you’ll notice that many others try to hold you down, stop you from going forward… “Two of Us” share their passion for music with us via this bright Acoustic single, giving the courage and will to never stop evolving”

-Nagamag.com

Get Love is a song we wrote about every person from our teenage years until now trying to bring us down and stop our passion and dreams about music. There’s people that put their frustrations on others and when you are at the receiving end of it, it really is demotivating and it built a lot of insecurity in us, Constant criticism and pressure can be really hard to take. That’s what Get Love is. It was born out of the necessity of chasing our dreams and never giving up, despite the constant negativity we receive in the road. It’s about turning the hate into love.

Scottish singer-songwriter Natalie Clark, who has reaped plaudits from Virgin’s Richard Branson and BBC Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw was selected as a Mercedes Benz KTLA “Artist to Watch” after moving to the US. Natalie was featured in the Mercedes Benz commercial campaign which also included performances at the famous Roxy on Sunset, and The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. She was handpicked to open for the Grammy award winning Indigo Girls tour and has been recording in L.A when not busy touring the US. Natalie received acclaim from multi-platinum artists such as Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton when she appeared on NBC’s The Voice, who praised her voice as ‘cool and powerful’ and ‘incredible’.

Since moving to the States, Natalie has opened festivals, toured the country, and was recently named a ‘Hot 100 Live Artist’ in Music Connection Magazine. She is also an official JH Audio featured artist. Her recently released Livewire E.P has already received considerable attention in the sync licensing world, with tracks being featured in several Netflix shows and an international commercial campaign.

After giving up her teaching career in Scotland to pursue her dream of writing and playing music, the rising indie-pop artist made headlines in the U.K. when Richard Branson invited her to sing on-stage at a BBC Radio 1 Academy session in Glasgow. Natalie accepted his impromptu challenge, and sang ‘Weakness’, from her debut EP. It prompted Branson to proclaim: “That was absolutely and utterly stunning – no backing band, no musicians, no forewarning.” He later called her “inspiring”. Grimshaw, who was hosting the BBC Radio 1 Academy event, played ‘Weakness’ and further sang Natalie’s praises on his BBC Radio 1 show the following day. Branson has since written several articles about Natalie, including a recent commentary on her record release on virgin.com

Tommy Alexander – River Run Down (Spotify)

-Nagamag.com

Artist said about this song:

“River Run Down” is a song with a simple and classic sentiment: let the past go. We recorded it live during the Waves sessions but it didn’t quite fit onto the record. It’s a tune we’ve really enjoyed playing live the past couple years and it feels good to finally get it out and share it with you all." - Tommy Alexander

(New York, NY) Awake Sleeper, the first full-length album by indie-folk artist Amy Jay was profoundly influenced by life in New York City. The new single, “Lucid Dreaming,” released today, was inspired by Jay’s time on the subway, observing those around her. LISTEN HERE.

https://hypeddit.com/u3c6bc

“I somehow ended up in the front subway car on the A express train zooming down Manhattan on my way to work, and was mesmerized by the prisms that were forming out of the double-paned window of the train door,” she says. “As I was in some sort of hypnotic, half asleep, morning commute state, I also picked up the smells of sunscreen and cigarettes, which was probably someone on their way to the beach. But it brought me straight back to a specific, vivid just-like-yesterday memory of a childhood pool party in Miami Lakes where I grew up. Contrasting that past memory with the current state of my mind asking, ‘Am I really an adult?’ and, ‘What is truth, does it even exist?’ is what brought me to write this song. It was a strange train ride.”

Exploring the boundaries between acoustic and synthetic, minimalist and ornate, Jay’s music echoes a breathtaking cross-pollination of introspective songcraft, surprising textures, and hypnotic soundscapes. Working with longtime friend and producer Jonathan Seale of Mason Jar Music, known for his work with Feist, Fleet Foxes, Aoife O’Donovan, and more, as well as his own solo efforts released under the moniker Son of Cloud, Jay gave life to her songs with an idiosyncratic sound equally informed by experimental electronica, classical music, and post-rock as it is by traditional acoustic folk songcraft.

Awake Sleeper is Jay’s first full-length release and follows two successful EPs, 2016’s Supposed to Be and 2018’s So It Is. Recorded in the fall and winter of 2019, in its own way, the album pre-imagines the city’s strange magic during the pandemic, its perpetual buzz lurking just below a sense of haunting solitude.

Having made Awake Sleeper in what now feels like a distant past, Amy Jay is looking firmly towards the future, driven to continually push her songcraft towards new terrain while still honoring her remarkable debut album with the attention and self-love it so rightly deserves.

“It’s complicated,” Jay says, “because obviously, I’m proud of this huge, monumental thing that I’m doing. I have to just remember it’s a time capsule, a glimpse into a life before the world crashed, snapshots of memories. We captured what was happening at the time, written in the past, relevant for today.”

Awake Sleeper will be released on February 11, 2022, and a video for “Lucid Dreaming,” is coming soon.

Louise Weseth – Woodlands (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Experience deep relaxation moments with the music company of Louise Weseth. Concentrate on the singer's elegant voice and escape from the city walls, somewhere far, in the Woodlands. Very artistic and balanced Indie Folk production which didn't leave us indifferent.”

-Nagamag.com

Artist said about this song:

"This is the first song I wrote for the EP, long before I thought about releasing my songs at all.

It’s about the heavy air between two people when there are so many things to be said but you don’t. About being the one who has to make things move.

I wrote the first draft of this song sitting on the floor in the basement of my family’s house in Horten during my last year of high school. I think it was October, and I had started practicing yoga a few months earlier. My yoga teacher would adjust the classes according to the moon cycles, and I was so fascinated by that and the moon in general. I was reading about the different meanings of the moon as a symbol, and found it so interesting how pretty much all cultures have their own interpretation of what the moon symbolizes.

In the song, I think of the moon as what makes the tides move. But also the moon as this intuitive and feminine force. And water as emotions and the unknown. Since the moon is such an open symbol it could mean pretty much anything, and I love how the lyrics might mean something completely different to someone else.

I recorded everything myself and then sent it over to Amelia Thornton, a violinist from Montana (she also plays violin and viola on Woodlands), who played some beautiful violin parts as well mandolin over it." - Louise Weseth
