Dot in California – Charlie Bishop

Lyrics of Charlie Bishop – Dot in California

There’s a dot in California, where no one knows my name
I could take you there by car, my dear, but it’s only in my brain
I know every crack and corner upstairs, fireplace next to our bed
I know the veins on the backs of your hands, but you’re only in my head

Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh

There’s a place on the horizon
Where you and I don’t end
We could run from this cold east side of town
Where your smiles were all pretend
You said last June you dreamt of places too
Guess it meant more to me than it did to you
Your head, it rests, pressed into my chest
Now strangers see me sleeping with the ghost of my cigarettes

Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh

There’s a place in California
Where heaven’s just around the bend

How long, my dear
How long, my dear
Oh, oh, oh
How long, my dear
How long, my dear

Oh, I know it like the back of my hand
But it’s all in my head
Oh, I know it like the back of my hand
But it’s all in my head
Oh, I know it like the back of my hand
But it’s all in my head

Oh, I know it like the back of my hand
But it’s all in my head
