Driving Towards The Horizon – Hans Grondel

Lyrics of Hans Grondel – Driving Towards The Horizon

My alarm clock rings, and my head it spins
Feels like I haven’t slept at all
Another long day, of work that’s draining
3 AM before I get home
There’s nothing new to learn, I’ve seen and I’ve heard Everything there is to know
Every day’s the same, It’s boring, it’s lame
I wanna break out and leave the show

I’ve been dreaming for a while about how it would feel if I

walk out the door
Step in into my four by four
Hear the engine roar
as I’m pumping the gas
Roll the windows down
No chance I’ll ever turn around
I might be slowed down
But I’ll keep driving
Towards the horizon

From behind the bar, watch ‘em play the guitar
Oh, I wish I could be that free
Sometimes I zone out and sing in front of the crowd
Tonight the spotlight’s on me
But I get pulled back in, when some guy needs a drink
I’m still stuck in this f*cking routine
It’s the same old song, doomed to go wrong
I’m done playing along

And now I’m leaving this old town This time, it’s for real as I

walk out the door
Step in into my four by four
Hear the engine roar
as I’m pumping the gas
Roll the windows down
No chance I’ll ever turn around
I might be slowed down
But I’ll keep driving
Towards the horizon
