Empty Country – Couvo

Lyrics of Couvo – Empty Country

Someone’s running down the street, screaming the market’s gonna crash
We were standing right outside the bar while you were bumming cigarettes
You spent one summer in Berlin, now it’s all I ever hear
You swear you’re going back again, please don’t text me when you’re there

I’ll be right here in your empty country
In your empty country
In your empty, empty country
Your empty country

You got your friends in Greenpoint with too much money on their hands
They dull their days at Goldie’s, playing dice with their parents’ cash
You say they don’t really know you and they won’t when you’re gone
Well we fall in love with strangers, you think you’re the only one?

I’ll be right here in your empty country
In your empty country
In your empty, empty country
Your empty country

Cause there’s no revolution out in the streets, there’s no revolution out in the streets
Where’s the revolution? Where’s the revolution?
There’s no revolution out in the streets

Your empty country, your empty country
In your empty, empty country
I’m your empty country
