Release Critique: Nate Currin – The Highway | Rock Review

Music Review:

Lyrics of Nate Currin – The Highway

The Highway
I left Nashville around noon
With a patched up heart and a piece of you
Headed north to find the truth
Out on the highway

I drove up through Ohio
Where the snow came down on the fields like ghosts
Felt in aching in my bones
Out on the highway

Cause I’d rather be alone under the winter moon
Than with someone who doesn’t inspire me like you
And I wouldn’t settle for anything less
Than the flame that ignites a fire in my chest
You’re the girl who lights a fire in my chest

She’s not a spark
She’s a wildfire
Supernova, a shooting star
A strange desire

Burning away the corners of my soul
Leaving me with an ache eternal
If she would have me, I’d be here to stay
Forever off the highway
One day I’ll hold her, God I pray
Eternally be off the highway
