Hugar — Icelandic duo Bergur Þórisson and Pétur Jónsson — are prepping The Vasulka Effect: Music For the Motion Picture out October 2nd on Sony Masterworks. Their genre-defying sound is in full wide-screen focus on the new album and on “Enigma” in particular, with elements of drone, ambient electronics, and orchestral atmospherics, creating a visual language of its own.
Created from never-before-seen footage from the Brotherhood exhibition, the “Enigma” music video provides an enigmatic glimpse into the creative impulses of the feature film’s male protagonist and exhibition creator Woody Vasulka.
Regarding the film: Pioneers of video art, The Vasulkas are lifetime hackers and grandparents of the “YouTube” generation. After struggling in their retirement years, by a fluke they are rediscovered by the art world that had forgotten all about them, and people and institutions are suddenly fighting over who will represent them after they are gone. It’s directed by Hrafnhildur Gunnarsdóttir.

This is a soulful, calm song. Don't be intimidated by its simplicity, simplicity is what makes this track so good. It is best to listen near water. The sound production here tickles the ears and the emotions are lush.

Few words about SammAyOnTheBeat:
SammAyOnTheBeat born in The Bronx, NY, grew up around music like most youths in his community. His influences span Gospel, Hip-Hop, R&B and Soul, through his days singing in his church to learning how to use FL Studio to craft his own sound. With no experience in playing instruments, he learned to use the tools around him and learn techniques to enhance his creativity.
From 2009 - 16 he has been responsible for engineering and producing many independent/major artist projects along his production collective ARESVP. Responsible for producing and developing a few independent artist careers like longtime collaborator Michael From The East. 2018 he released Trapped Hearts, a soulful jazzhop track that featured not only his production but vocals. It inspired him to shape his sound into something more defined and fresh.

After the success of his latest singles ‘Slow ft. Akacia’ and ‘Forest Eyes x MILA’, Chris Durkin releases another genre blending hit featuring sultry vocals from Lauren Light.
Both members of an international songwriting super team, Chris and Lauren joined forces on the haunting track ‘Mind'.
With heavy brass hits and percussive sound design, Chris Durkin showcases his production talents, complimented by Lauren’s alluring vocal harmonies. ‘Mind’ is about being lost in your own thoughts, finding solace in solitude, but also the dangers of overthinking.
It’s a song of contrasts, depicting how the mind and the soul are often conflicting with each other, which Chris reflects in the differing sections.
Triptone is back with a nostalgic chillout lounge track City Of Love and a lux remix treat by Cayo Largo, both a devine beauty!
Listening "Halfway Home" from Kori and the so soft/elegan sound design of lush harmonies if offers, we think why been named as that. Its the nostalgic, relief emotion you feel like when you were away from big period from "Home" whatever means home for everyone (this could be relationship, your parents, your neighborhood etc) and finally return, when you are too close to reach your home and feel safe, beloved again.
Kori shared with us his thoughts about this song:
This is a song about the last few months of my life. The name signifies the slight sense of "in-betweenness" I'm feeling as I approach the end of my time at uni and prepare to get spat out into the world. Not a particularly novel or unique thing to be feeling, but something I am feeling nonetheless. The track has inspirations from all over the place; indie stuff comes into the intro while soundtrack music and ambient tunes inspired the "drop" (though that word doesn't quite suit the track).
