Anto Dust is the musical venture of Anto Cossu, musician and composer from the Italian island of Sardinia.


After playing solo initially, Anto was joined by Antonio Perry on lead guitar duties and David Roberts on drums.

Based in London, her music received international acclaim from radio and press.

After two years break, due to the pandemic, Anto is back with a new single and a ten-track album in the making.

A Larkin is an ode to her favorite poet but also her favorite man, to whom she sings “you can call me home”. A new brand of pop, less fuzzy and chaotic, cleaner and clearer, to mark an important change in her artistic development with a song to remind us that she is ready to compete for the top spots in the indie-charts.

There can also be feelings of fear based off previous relationships or experiences that maybe didn’t go so well. Finding true love is about moving through those feelings of fear and finding someone who will love you in that complexity. That’s where this song came for me.”

Mental Pictures is all about living in the moment. So many people are living life through their phones. They’re obsessed with capturing the best picture, with the best angle, in the best lighting, not realizing that what they’re actually doing is missing the moment. There is something about just looking up from our phones, putting away the devices, and seeing/experiencing what’s really in front of us. I got the inspiration for this song on a very ordinary day. I was simply driving through my neighborhood with my boyfriend (now husband) and I looked over at him while we are at a stop light and something about the way he looked in the moonlight just captivated me. I knew that I wanted to remember it forever, but instead of pulling out my phone to take a picture like I would normally do, I put my hands up to my face and took a “mental picture” instead. We don’t give our mind enough credit. We’ve bought into the lie that a physical picture is the only way to truly capture a moment. But then I think about how vividly I remember my childhood. A Canadian medical physicist turned singer-songwriter who first discovered his voice and songwriting in his late 30's.

Without license or passport Doc meanders through musical styles weaving together influences from pop, folk, country, and jazz. Doc's songs are lyrically driven, heartfelt, and focus on universal themes that allow his music to relate to a wide audience.

His acoustic sound and breathy folk-pop vocals have been compared to other to singer-songwriters like Ben Rector, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, and Jake Scott.

To date Doc has released two 4-song EP's that are aptly named "Half-Life" and "Thought Experiment". These works have seen Doc collaborate with many of Canada's top producers and musicians most notably Toronto-based producer Les Cooper (Craig Cardiff, Jill Barber, Meaghan Smith), violinist Drew Jurecka (Dua Lipa, Hailee Steinfeld), piano player Robbie Grunwald (Donovan Woods), drummer Lyle Molzan (Headstones) and the Juno-award winning singer-songwriter Meaghan Smith.

Doc releases new music every 8 weeks and will continue doing so for the foreseeable future.

The first lines of the song are true! One night I was driving home late and I saw some guy passed out in a busy intersection! Pulling over, I drug the guy to the side of the road and rolled him on his side because he was choking on his own vomit.

This made me think, "How did this guy get here, and why am I not in the same place?" The blessings I have today can be traced back to my families help and health in my life as I was growing up. Wether it be my mom helping me with my dyslexia or my dad simply affirming me, these little things added up. This song is to celebrate good parents who set their kids up well for success.

Not everybody has good parents, but my hope is that everybody could see how the sacrifices of their families helped them and would cause them to express gratitude and encourage parents to keep doing a good job raising their kids.
