Marc Douglas Berardo – The Hard Part

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Favorite guitar riffs, proper intonation, insightful lyrics and a burning sensation in the chest inspiring the hope that everything will be fine. The melody is pleasant and contains a semantic message about important changes in a person's life.”

“Любимые гитарные риффы, правильная интонация, проницательный текст и обжигающее ощущение в груди, которое вселяет надежду, что всё будет хорошо. Приятная мелодия, в которой заключён простой смысловой посыл о важных переменах в жизни человека.”

-Nagamag.com

"The song "The Hard Part" was written while recuperating from losing my singing voice for a little over two months. The impermanence of my ability to sing, something that I’ve been able to do without much thought my whole life, became the lesson before me. The song was a bit of self-advice and a reminder to carry-on above all things. I wrote it to guide myself through the problem. The song concludes with a dollop of hope."

Recorded at Mark Dann Recording Inc. in Woodstock, NY, performers on the record include Marc Douglas Berardo on vocals and acoustic guitar, Eric Parker drums (Joe Cocker, Orleans) Mark Dann bass (Richard Shindell, John Gorka), Mike Scortino (Dr. Westchesterson) on organ and piano and Chris Berardo (Chris Berardo and the DesBerardos) contributes background vocals.

“The Hard Part” is a track on Marc’s record “Temporary Things that is due out in 2022. “Temporary Things” is Berardo’s eighth record to be released in his discography and the first he has released since 2013.

“Songwriter and prophet Bob Marley once wrote that “none of them can stop the time”. It was with that notion that I carried around the idea for the collection of songs that became Temporary Things. If you’re lucky to live long enough you are gonna lose a few battles, pass through a few relationships and lose a few friends and relations along the way. The ephemeral nature of time on earth becomes very apparent as the years pass. What is here today is gone soon. No one can stop the time.” - MDB

Ludlow – Take Me Back (to July)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Deep, low and solid vocals accompanied by instrumental Indie Folk create the effect of maximum listening pleasure. Colorful sound and soft, artistic touch.”

“Глубокий, низкий и осязаемый вокал в сопровождение инструментального indie folk создают эффект максимального погружения. Колоритное звучание и мягкая, душевная подача материала.”

-Nagamag.com

"Take Me Back (to July)" is a violin-driven folk/country song that combines beautiful vocal harmonies with a bittersweet tone. Like most Ludlow songs, there is lament with very clear silver linings. New Zealand alternative rock trio CAPITAL THEATRE showcase a melodic and edgy guitar/keyboard-driven sound on their debut full-length album A HERO’S JOURNEY out this summer. It was recorded with Grammy Award-winning legendary producer Mike Clink (Guns N’ Roses, Steve Vai) at NRG Studios in Los Angeles, CA (along with some guitar recordings being completed at Slash’s Snakepit Studio) and lyrically takes inspiration from Joseph Campbell’s’ book The Hero With A Thousand Faces.

The band has shared a provocative music video for its latest single, “Delicately Poised,” underlining the track’s exploration of the human identity. Filmed at an adult entertainment club in Barcelona and with live footage taken in New Zealand, the video highlights authenticity and diversity. CAPITAL THEATRE co-directed the video with Bruno Amaral Pereira and Julie Gomez of Kapala Studios and also by Alex Hargeaves who shot the NZ-based content of the band’s performance. “Delicately Poised” is available March 1, across all digital platforms.

From song to song, A HERO’S JOURNEY delivers unbridled energy drawn from guitarist Roy Oliver’s electrifying solos and sequences, drummer Paul Reid’s furiously pounding rhythms and vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Adam Stevenson’s graceful and soul stirring piano work. The realm of their sound is further expanded with cinematic string arrangements completed by guest composer David Campbell (The Rolling Stones, U2, Beck) to add to its multi-dimensional otherworldly perception. Its 10 tracks reveal the undeniable chemistry they’ve honed through years of playing local pubs back home in Auckland, with A-list guest musicians including Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney and Bon Jovi lead guitarist Phil X.
