Introducing Tel Aviv’s hottest new act: KAYMA. Fronted by the commercially successful multi-instrumentalist/producer Ori Toledano (known for writing and producing music for some of the world’s largest brands under the pseudonym Snowstar.Company), KAYMA is an edgy pop project with an irresistibly catchy Top 40 feel.

His debut single “Onsitelover” (premiered via Northern Transmissions) explores our relationship with the digital world through the story of a couple, bonded by a fatal attraction, and the new live music video offers a gorgeous stripped back version of the pop song. Filmed in the historic Immanuel Church in Tel Aviv, Toledano is joined by a choir for a stunning live rendition. Rich with exquisite harmonies, this Hozier-esque stomp-and-clap banger combines pop with gospel for an unexpected twist.

KAYMA shares: “The song is basically an affair we’re having with the online world in the form of seduction. The video encapsulates the interaction we’re having with it through the relations of a couple that experience the distraction, engagement and the disorientation after the act.”

This song has nothing to do with aesthetics, being attractive, is in my opinion the least interesting thing about a person BUT feeling confident, comfortable and empowered in your body is important, to me that is true beauty.

It would be nice to feel great about yourself every day but life can, at times, have a tendency to make you feel small and inadequate. It’s especially easy now with the addition of social media, comparing your body and life to the bodies and lives of “perfect” people online can be soul crushing. It can leave you feeling like all that you are isn’t enough.

That’s when you need someone to lift you up. You need kind words when you’re unable to speak them to yourself, you need reassurance when you’re feeling discouraged. You need a reminder that you’re a bad ass and that you should never shrink to make others comfortable, because you’re not “too much” you’re just enough.

5ON5 is a collaborative music project based in Berlin, Germany, and consisting of four distinctly unique artists who’ve come together to make music that, in their own words, is “a little new, a little naughty, and a bit different.” The quartet itself is a bit different, its members spanning two generations and coming from very different music backgrounds. The brainchild of Max Koffler, a singer-songwriter, musician and producer with over 20 years of experience in the music industry, and who’s previously released two albums Taboo and GAMES as a solo artist, the project is based on his cooperatin with young singer-songwriter, rapper and producer $INAN (aka Sinan Pakar) with rapper and visual artist Maxx B and singer and texter Yumin joining in. Their unusual name 5ON5 was born out of Max’s music label sonsounds, and reflects their eclectic mix of music genres and styles, including EDM, synthpop, hip hop and alternative rock.

Today, Mercury Music Prize and GRAMMY® Award winning UK singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer James Blake has released new single “Life Is Not The Same”.

A collaboration with hit producer duo Take A Daytrip , (who notably co-produced the Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow track, “Industry Baby,” with Kanye West), “Life Is Not The Same” is the second track to be lifted from James’ forthcoming fifth studio album, Friends That Break Your Heart (out 10th September 2021).

Showing the scope that his body of work will span, “Life Is Not The Same” gives a larger view of what’s to come on the album. Featuring introspective lyrics and a dreamlike melody, the track proves Blake’s masterful range and bold vulnerability. It follows the album’s critically acclaimed first single, “Say What You Will” – which saw The Fader laud Blake for “locking into fragile melodies and bold compositional swings with ease”. The accompanying official music video was directed by Bear Damen and features a guest appearance from Finneas.

Friends That Break Your Heart follows the Covers EP – a collection of Blake’s favourite covers, including his cover of Frank Ocean’s “Godspeed” (which generated over 5 million views on TikTok) – and his 2019 released, GRAMMY® nominated album Assume Form which was his highest charting album in both the UK and US to date.

More recently James worked with Dave on his no. 1 second studio album We’re All Alone In This Together and featured on Slowthai’s chart topping album TYRON.

James Blake’s first new full-length album in two years, Friends That Break Your Heart, will feature collaborations from JID & SwaVay, Monica Martin and SZA. James worked closely with British artist Miles Johnston to design a cover reflective of the album. The result is a visual encapsulation of the emotions brought forth throughout the body of work.
