WITH HER UPBEAT NEW COUNTRY-POP SINGLE “GOLD”, OLIVIA ROSE GLITTERS OVER LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

Canadian country artist Olivia Rose is excited to share her new single, “Gold” – which is now available on all digital platforms. It will be released to Canadian country radio on March 15th.

Co-written by Olivia Rose and David Borys (Wes Mack, Kadooh) and brought to life by Juno and CCMA award-winning producer Bart McKay, “Gold” is the first new music for Olivia Rose since 2019’s single, “Put It Like That”, which has earned almost 120,000 Spotify streams to date and was added to regular rotation on CBC Country (Sirius XM).

In speaking about the new track, Olivia Rose says, “I’m not going to lie – my own dating history has led me to write my fair share of sad break-up songs. With David, we went in the opposite direction by starting at the beginning of a relationship instead of at the end, and we came out of it with something happy and upbeat.”

Far from a lavish sonic exploration of a high-rolling romantic adventure, the heart of Olivia Rose’s lyrics is really a nod to the “solid gold” connection that one can form with a true best friend and partner.

She says, “I want people to sing this at the top of their lungs in the car with the windows down. Having that perfect match in your life is such a rush and I wanted to capture and celebrate the spirit of that feeling in the lyrics and flow of the song.”

“Gold” is just the latest highlight for the Elk Point, Alberta-born artist, who got one of her first big breaks at age 14 when Canadian country legend George Canyon invited her on stage after an intermission set to perform her debut single. Since that formative moment, she has developed her artistry through a series of enriching experiences. A two-time Edmonton Music Award-winner for Rising Star, Rose participated as a Top 12 Finalist in Alberta’s prestigious Project WILD in 2018 and attended Canada’s Music Incubator in Toronto on a full Bell Media Prize scholarship in 2019.

As she enjoys the single release of “Gold”, she is currently nominated for Rising Star again – this time as part of the 10th Annual Country Music Alberta Awards – which will take place February 28th on YouTube.

Olivia Rose will support “Gold” with an animated lyric video – created by NotYourDesigner – leading up to the Canadian country radio release of the single on March 15th. From there, she will head back to the studio this year to create her first full-length record.

“Gold” is available now across all digital platforms.

"GOLD" LYRICS
(Olivia Rose, David Borys)

VERSE 1

Boy you, give me, one hell of a fever
There’s more to see than just this little teaser
You’re stuck in my mind, you run through my veins
What’s it gonna take to stake my claim
I know you’re the real thing

CHORUS

You are gold baby
Solid gold baby
Soft to the touch, I’m lost in your rush, I can’t stop diggin’ for your love
If you hold me, I’ll go crazy
For that 24 karat kiss, make me the richest girl you know
Cause you’re gold

VERSE 2

I kept finding all the fools and fakers
Bright and shiny, hiding a heart breaker
But you're 100%, the absolute best
One ounce of you is worth all the rest
I ain’t gonna let you go

CHORUS

Cuz you are gold baby
Solid gold baby
Soft to the touch, I’m lost in your rush, I can’t stop diggin’ for your love
If you hold me, well I’ll go crazy
For that 24 karat kiss, make me the richest girl you know
Cause you’re gold

BRIDGE

You’re solid gold to me
You’ve got a hold on me
You’re solid gold to me
To me, to me

CHORUS

You are gold baby
Solid gold baby
Soft to the touch, I’m lost in your rush, I can’t stop diggin’ for your love
If you hold me, well I’ll go crazy
For that 24 karat kiss, make me the richest girl you know
Cause you’re gold, ohhh
Gold, you’re gold

Emina Sonnad – Aperol (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“A new surprice from Emina Sonnad is here. Sophisticated piano-driven song with the singer’s sensual voice echoing elusively in your head! Regardless your music preferences, “Aperol” worths the listening.”

-Nagamag.com

Aperol is a tribute to being unapologetically yourself even when your world is falling apart. I wrote this song while feeling very abandoned at the beginning of the pandemic. I was going through a rough breakup and had unexpectedly ended up quarantining alone in a foreign country, which gave me a lot of time to think about what it means to love someone, and what it means to stand your ground in the face of heartbreak. I remember walking home from the grocery store one night and being stopped by a couple who had spotted a line of strange lights in the sky. It was surreal, just standing there with two strangers and staring up at the sky in silence, wondering if the world was about to end and realizing it wouldn’t surprise me at all. The guy had his arms wrapped around his girlfriend as if he wanted to be as close to her as possible, just in case. Turns it was only some satellites, but in that moment it hit me, “yes, I deserve to be with someone who would stay by my side for the end of the world.” I think having this sense of self advocacy makes it easier to embrace the absurdity of your pain when things get bad. It’s kind of like looking in the mirror and saying “I see you, and you are absolutely ridiculous, but I love you anyway.”

Emina Sonnad is an American singer-songwriter who stumbled upon her musical identity after unexpectedly losing her job teaching English in Madrid. In an effort to find her place in an unfamiliar city, she attended her first open stage night at Sala Alive. Her soft, melancholic voice cut through the chaos of the bar, captivating the crowd, and she was quickly swept away by the vibrancy of the Spanish music scene. Mentored by a tight-knit community of indie musicians, Emina spent the year songwriting, performing in small venues and recording her first single, “Pretending to See Stars,” a dark, introspective ballad self released in 2018. The song’s distinctively wistful vocals caught the attention of Germany’s emerging deep house artist Pretty Pink, who invited Emina to co-write and feature on her next project. The resulting collaboration, “Overrated” was released through Found Frequencies and streamed by millions, bringing Emina to Berlin with a newly acquired taste for electronic music and an unapologetic desire to grow as an artist. Splitting her time between writing techno toplines, hosting open-mic nights in Berlin’s trendy Space Meduza Bar, and releasing an acoustic EP with folk-pop project Half a Disaster, Emina gained a small but dedicated local fanbase, whose support encouraged her to spend the entirety of the 2020 lockdown creating something more personal. Teaming up with Berlin producer Edgar Möller, she recorded six of her original songs, culminating in a record deal with UK based label At Swim Music. Emina’s upcoming releases invite listeners to pause and take comfort in the bleakness, the beauty and the absurdity of everyday life.

Becoming Young – No Strings Attached (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Singer and songwriter Brandon Calano, who writes and performs under the pseudonym of Becoming Young, combines the best of modern pop music and our beloved folk. After listening remains both easy and exciting feeling of freedom and unity!”

“Певец и автор песен Brandon Calano, который пишет и выступает под псевдонимом Becoming Young, сочетает в себе лучшее из современной поп-музыки и любимого нами фолка. После прослушивания остаётся одновременно лёгкое и захватывающее чувство свободы и единства!”

-Nagamag.com

Is a connection ever purely physical? Becoming Young’s Brandon Calano finds out the answer the hard way on his invigorating new pop single, “No Strings Attached.”

It started simple enough: in the backseat of a friend’s car Brandon kissed a mysteriously exotic girl. The two met at a party earlier that night but didn’t hit off until they were under a magnificent, crisp Colorado summer sky, nestled in a friend’s car. It was a buzzed romance—blurry, exciting, and impulsive.

How do you follow an evening like this? The short answer is you go on another date, and then you get disappointed that the connection isn’t real, and then you move on. When the connection is real, however, complications arise. Brandon came home from said proper date euphoric and subsequently wrote the single “Reverie.” This alluring new woman called him the next day, and matter-of-factly stated: “I was just calling to make sure you’re not falling in love with me, ‘cause I can’t do that right now.” Turns out that carefree kiss wasn’t so carefree.

“When I wrote ‘No Strings Attached,’ it was mainly about lust. I had no idea I would fall for her to the extent I did,” Brandon recalls. “Looking back, it’s astonishing how much I’ve developed as a person since writing this song.”

“No Strings Attached” is almost a breezy pop gem, replete with acoustic guitars, washes of ambient textures, heavenly harmony vocals, and lead vocals that undulate between urban-pop rhythmic flow and soulful melodicism. The tune’s slick bounce—a signature touch courtesy of Sony/BMG producer Austin Shawn—lends it an urban strut. Another powerful dynamic touch is the contrast between the detached cool verses and the explosively hooky choruses that recall smashes by pop artists such as Troye Sivan and Glass Animals.

Thematically, “No Strings Attached” is partially a flippant response to the initial phone call. In the pre-chorus, Brandon sings: ‘Cause there's a couple Colorado girls I love/Couple of east-coast honeys I want/And this LA babe that keeps me up/I know it's trouble, but I just love the rush/So baby don't call my bluff, ‘cause I don't need your love. This is all playful posturing, of course, bordering on denial, and the push/pull of the verses and choruses foreshadows reality bursting out. The truth is, Brandon is soon to be attached, heartstrings and all.

“Kenyan producer Eric Ananda, in collaboration with Agnelo Do Rego and MAC, acquaint us with his new creation My Type. An excellent example of a commercial sound and producing competent when each sound element in place.”

“Кенийский продюсер Eric Ananda, в соавторстве с Agnelo Do Rego и MAC, знакомят нас со своим новым творением My Type. Отличный пример коммерческого звучания и грамотного продюсирования, когда каждый звуковой элемент на своём месте. ”

My Type is the first single from my upcoming project. We wrote the song about when someone catches your eye and you sense a connection “a vibe” and you try to get their attention but it’s like you don’t exist to them at all, so you try again hoping the second time round they might. We also felt it was the right time to release the song as Valentines day is around the corner and hopefully the song could inspire someone to ask someone to be their Valentine.

Flo Gallop – 21 (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“New magic from Flo Gallop! Cannot choose what to listen today? Do you usually prefer some kind of Electro Pop? 21 is the answer... and the interesting voice of the young singer adds a very personal signature to this selected music piece.”

-Nagamag.com

You already know Flo Gallop. You’ve already heard her voice, it’s a pitch-perfect, beautiful, arm-around-the-shoulders version of the one in your head. Flo is the voice we all need, She’s the beat behind our breakdowns and the word-perfect poetry of our bounce-back pick-ups. South-east London born and bred, Flo was raised around music, her dad made songwriting feel like breathing. Without it she would choke. So, she sat, scribbling words, diarising an everyday life through the musicality and soul of a natural artist that would eventually emerge, fully formed, as a friend in your ears.

Flo doesn’t want to change the world, just get your attention. She lives to perform, yet she feels, writes and lives like an antidote to this world of filtered fakery and ‘pick me!’ poses. Honesty is the only policy here, even when it hurts.

Unveiling her latest single “21,” Flo tells you a lot about her life… and a bit about your own. With painfully relatable lyrics narrating the familiar day-to-day life of a 21 year old, Flo sings about having fun, partying and living for the moment. “21” shimmers with bold, confident instrumentation and honest, sassy, storytelling lyrics. Her music is reminiscent of the likes of Kate Nash and Lily Allen, oozing an early 2000’s feel, while delivering a fresh pizzazz. Wearing her heart on her sleeve, the song is an account of her youth - she may make mistakes, but she doesn’t regret anything. With her strong identity, “21” features infectious melodies and a fat, head-bopping bassline which dominates the chorus.

The music video for “21” features Flo working long shifts, saving up money to blow it on a night out at a karaoke bar. Bright colours, flamboyant outfits and vibrant shots of London town emit feel-good vibes, getting you in the mood to party.

All of Flo’s music is food for the heart and words for the wise. This is a writer of depth, already a collaborator with established giants Tom Fuller and Will Thomson but, rather than stand on their shoulders, she has hands on the wheel.

Being a young woman in your 20s isn’t always easy today, but Flo only sees ‘good and great’ in her life and her work, and you will too. So, if you’re looking for Bad then head for Neverland, but if you want songs to fly, cry and die for then don’t just run with the herd- go with the Flo.

Lola Lennox – La La Love Me (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“Unpredictable, pure vintage sensation in the year 2021! A pleasant surprise from Lola Lennox bringing you a huge wave of love and happiness. Highly recommended for the Retro Soul fans around.”

-Nagamag.com

Friday 29th January, London, UK – Singer, songwriter and musician, Lola Lennox releases the accompanying music video for her current single “La La Love Me” today.

The music video’s release follows hot on the heels of “La La Love Me” being the most played record on Radio 2 earlier this month and it entering the Top 10 of the UK Radio Airplay Charts.

The accompanying music video for Lola’s “La La Love Me” is directed by her childhood friend, British photographer and director, Grace Pickering (Dua Lipa, Sam Smith, Calvin Harris, Tyler The Creator). It follows Lola around a house while she lives out a daydream, inviting the viewer to join her in a celebration of life, love and colourful fantasy. The video climaxes with a performance in sparkling gold and soft light, highlighting the soulful prowess of the song. During a time where we are not getting out much, “La La Love Me” encourages us to find our own sense of joyful inspiration, even when alone at home.

“In a year where we cannot live normally, I’ve found it uplifting to day dream and go to places in my mind that feel like a colourful oasis, the La La Love Me video is an expression of that. It’s a heightened reality, of colour, sparkling dreams and a party for one. The song expresses the excitement and nerves of having feelings for someone, but ultimately is a celebration of a lust for life. Working with one of my oldest friend’s Grace Pickering as director was a total joy, she understands my taste particularly well because we’ve been dressing up and talking about our style inspirations since we were teenagers. This video was created to excite, inspire and encourage people to let go and turn up the music.” – Lola Lennox

Written by Lola Lennox and Carl Ryden, “La La Love Me” is produced by Annie Lennox alongside Dan Muckala and Braeden Wright. It follows Lola’s critically acclaimed summer single “Back At Wrong” which was she performed on The Kelly Clarkson show on NBC and received high rotation on Radio 2 (who added it to their A playlist).

Showcasing both Lola’s powerful voice and her inherent aptitude for song-writing, “La La Love Me” is a soul infused ode to escapism bedded in a soundscape filled with joyous colour and cascading melodies. Drawing on Lola’s predilection to daydream, it explores the concept of longing for a love that elevates one’s heart, mind and soul.

Earmarked as an artist to watch by everyone from The Sunday Times, Music Week and NME to Vogue Italia, Wonderland Magazine and Numero, Lola Lennox will be releasing her debut EP in 2021. The long player project will feature both “La La Love Me” and “Back At Wrong” alongside brand new tracks recorded in sessions with the likes of Eg White (Florence & the Machine, Sam Smith), Dan Wilson (Adele) and Dan Muckala (Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes).

Music has been in Lola’s blood from as long as she can remember. She has played the piano and sung from seven years old, written songs from the age of fifteen, and earned a place at the Royal Academy of Music. 2020 saw Lola duet with her mother, Annie Lennox, for their much talked about performance of “There Must Be An Angel” for Global Citizen One World: Together At Home to an audience of over 270 million viewers. While in 2019 she collaborated with Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory on the soundtrack for the “Serengeti” docu-series, which was narrated by Oscar winning actress Lupita Nyong and aired in over 35 countries around the world (including the the UK on BBC and the U.S. on Discover Network).
