Aftrlyfe, Rider Shafique, Silke – Dive Deep (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Features, Hip-Hop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , , |

With a powerhouse collaboration with UK-based artist Silke, blending in perfectly with a post-rock production and Rider’s rootsy vocals, this EP is nothing short of hip and groovy. The three heavily synth-based tracks seem to be telling a series of chronological stories, starting with the contemplative and atmospheric ‘Dive Deep’. The second track ‘Babylon a Burn’ furthers the theme with a more upbeat cinematic music, leading to climactic crescendos in its penultimate track ‘Rise from the Ashes’.

Aftrlyfe’s music is reminiscent of the trip hop vibes of Massive Attack, and his influences also include FKA Twigs, Run the Jewels, and 6Lack, among others. When asked for a defining album that influenced him, he answered Radiohead’s ‘In Rainbows’, which was a sonic illustration of emotions that made him feel beyond what was known before.

monogulo – Inside Out (Spotify)

Inside Out from Monogulo is a minimal synth house track with chill vibes and downtempo mood, an easy listening music adventure to laid back.

Few words about Monogulo:
Born out of pure passion for music and positive feelings, monogulo has always kept his love for music in sight. Although he never studied musical theory or played any instrument, he felt a special connection to certain types of music styles, which grew stronger over time.

One of his favourite instruments is piano, followed by strings, elements which are not uncommon in his mixes or tracks. The perfect symbiosis between organic instruments and electronic ones has defined his style as something close to deep house & electronica.

Morphoice – Strange Nights (Spotify)

Strange Nights from Morphoice is his debut track, on which had the honor to work with exceptional saxophonist Jesse Molloy from Synthwave top band The Midnight. A wonderful blend of synth and organic sounds with brilliant atmosphere and sound design which tickles your ears.

Morphoice is all about sounds from the future and the past, warm summer nights at the arcade, computerized horizons.
Pink neon light, unstuck in time, between the memories of yesteryear and retrofuturistic fantasies.
