Fohster – Till I Met You (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Blogwave, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“It seems that the composer of the song -Till I Met You- knows very well how to prepare a miraculous elixir. Actually, there is no other explanation for how else can create such spectacular sound results. The serenity of being and pure harmony.”

“Создаётся впечатление, что автор песни -Till I Met You- обладает знаниями, как приготовить чудотворный эликсир, ведь нет другого объяснения, как ещё можно создавать такие впечатляющие творения. Безмятежность бытия. Чистая гармония.”

-Nagamag.com

Independent pop artist Fohster is set to release new single “Till I Met You”, the first song of 4 on an evolving, atmospheric "playlist EP" called Daydreams. The symphonic, airy single marks a style shift for the artist, towards a more expansive chill pop feel.

The singer had this to say about the release: “After a break spent learning, honing - I wanted to release a collection I thought better represented my sound and identity as an artist. Hope it connects in some way.”

Bio

Singer/songwriter and producer Fohster wants to give form to things that are hard to put into words. An immigrant kid, born on the East Coast of the United States, he takes his influences from modern pop, R&B, and the variety of sounds he grew up with. Getting his start writing short-form songs at 8-years old, he began independently sharing music during his first year of college.

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“David Josephson makes a big step forward to deliver this beyond the basics song. Pure Indie Electronic mix with leading piano chords and the artist's passionate voice, is ready to entertain every listener.”

-Nagamag.com

March 5th saw the release of Swedish artist David Josephson melancholic single “Stockholm är en bra plats att leva på när man är död” (translated as: Stockholm is a good place to live in when you are dead). A jeremiad with a melodic piano and heavy synthesizers about coming back to a place that once was your home. The people, places and dreams that you were ready to give up as you plunged into the unknown just to return again one day with your tail between your legs.

Andreas Kübler – We Could Be Stars (Video)

Categories: Blogwave, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“Andreas Kubler delivers a new epic track to illuminate your dark moments. Prepare yourself for a short trip in space and back to Earth. Powerful mix that follows an upright direction and unearthly vocal touch in a super galactic video.”

-Nagamag.com

Andreas Kübler’s life is all about music. He went on stage to tour Europe as singer and bass guitar player right after school, played lots of music and left the stage again to compose even more. His style could be described as epic music, but plainly emotional would cover it better. A contemporary, modern orchestral sound is the basis of his compositions, but that’s all that makes them comparable.

Andreas is one of the founders and the lead composer of the popular music studio IMAscore and responsible for the music of some of the most successful movie marketing campaigns of all time. This includes Disney’s The Lion King, Aladdin, How To Train Your Dragon, Jurassic World, Avengers and the Star Wars saga. On top of that the music he wrote for the Captain Marvel promotional campaign won the prestigious Clio Gold Award in 2019.

Andreas Küblers public music is the musical portrayal of his artist self. No limitations, no briefings, no boundaries.

Son Lux — “A Different Kind of Love” (Official Visualizer) (Video)

Categories: Electronica, Electronica Features, Features, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

“”A Different Kind of Love” by Son Lux steps into diversity with not afraid to improvise into new sound design styles, out of the basic vocal trends. Deep heartwarming vocals with a deep artistic sound design which pushes out your hidden emotions and satisfy your listening needs. High quality here! ”

-Nagamag.com

Much has been said about the scope and intent of Son Lux’s multi-album Tomorrows project. Born of an active, intentional approach to shaping sound, the music reminds us of the necessity of questioning assumptions, and of sitting with the tension.

Today they announce the arrival of Tomorrows III, set for an April 16th release via City Slang. Bell tolls of a detuned guitar clang out a warning at the start of “A Different Kind of Love”, the new single out today. Thick punches of percussion enter and the song moves in heaves through a foggy atmosphere of sound. Instruments remain mostly out of focus, but in brief moments, flurries of strings and woodwinds emerge and recede from the fog.

The music encompassed on Tomorrows provides an appropriate parallel for the sustained cacophony of the present moment, advancing a friction that reveals the strange in the familiar and the familiar in the strange. The deluxe physical edition of the Tomorrows series will be released July 30th on City Slang.

Kina, Mokita – I’m Not Going Back (feat. Mokita) (Spotify)

“Kina unites his fans with his signature emotional and vibrant sound. His extended single I'm Not Going Back with Mokita delivers warmth with captivating voice and the beautiful rhythms of indie pop music.”

“Kina объединяет своих фанатов своим фирменным эмоциональным и ярким звуком. Его расширенный, совместный с Mokita и Mishaal сингл I'm Not Going Back согревает теплотой своего пленительного голоса и ритмами инди-поп музыки.”

LO-FI PRODUCER KINA COLLABORATES WITH MOKITA ON NEW TRACK “I’M NOT GOING BACK”

LISTEN HERE
http://kina.lnk.to/INGB

Platinum-selling producer Kina has shared his latest track “I’m Not Going Back” featuring Nashville-based singer Mokita. Listen HERE. The song blends Mokita’s rich, unique vocals with Kina’s signature lo-fi beats and is released today alongside a lyric video. Watch HERE.

In speaking about the collaboration, Kina says: “"I discovered Mokita thanks to Spotify shuffle – I remember when ‘Colorblind’ started playing; I was shocked and kept this song on loop for a long time, so I needed to make a song with him…and now here's ‘I'm Not Going Back.’ We worked remotely because of the COVID situation (and because I'm in Lisbon and he's from the US), but the song was born in an incredibly difficult but inspirational period that I was living in. I'm so happy with the final result simply because it completely represents my mood during that period of time."

Mokita adds: “‘I’m Not Going Back’ was one of those songs that I wrote really quickly, it happened in like 15 minutes. I wrote it about battling addictions and just how much easier it is to feed your addictions than it is to work at a relationship. I’ve been sober for almost 2 years now, and I remember the morning that I finally woke up and knew I was done... I kept repeating the title in my head, ‘I’m not going back.’ I think that can apply to so many things that are unhealthy for us. We kinda have to preach to ourselves against our demons and addictions, and remind ourselves why we stepped away. I have been a fan of Kina’s for a while so when he reached out about this song it was a no brainer. Super excited for everyone to hear it and grateful he wanted to work together on this one.”

“I’m Not Going Back” follows the release of Kina’s “Tell Me About You” (feat. Mishaal) late last year as well as his recent collaboration with Cavetown on “Sharpener’s Calling Me Again.” In April 2020, the 21-year-old producer released his debut EP Things I Wanted To Tell You, featuring the likes of Au/Ra, Pink Sweat$, and Adrianna Proenza. Included on the project is Kina’s breakout hit “Get You The Moon” (feat. Snøw), which has accumulated over 2.5 billion streams worldwide and is RIAA Platinum certified in the US, Mexico, Australia, Sweden and Canada. Furthermore, his track “Can We Kiss Forever” has tallied 2 billion+ streams globally. Kina’s music continues to grow and resonate with listeners, now surpassing over 11M TikToks created using his songs.

Stay tuned for more from Kina coming soon!

About Kina:

Italian producer Kina broadcasts his secrets through lo-fi pop transmissions teeming with the emotion and release of a midnight confession. His bare honesty registers on a global scale with an understated, yet seismic impact. Since 2017, the Naples-born Italian producer and artist has quietly emerged as a bona fide phenomenon with over 5 billion streams, Platinum certifications, acclaim from Refinery29 and Idolator, and an average of 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

His breakthrough 2018 single “Get You To The Moon” [feat. Snøw] initially exploded on Tik Tok as Columbia Records called and signed him. Eventually, the track garnered a platinum plaque from the RIAA, appeared in an episode of On My Block, and posted up 1 billion total streams and counting. It also paved the way for his 2020 EP, Things I Wanted To Tell You. Inspired by a stint in Lisbon, the latter boasted the gold-selling “Can We Kiss Forever?” [feat. Adriana Proenza], “Where R U?” [feat. Pink Sweat$], and “Feel Again” [feat. Au/Ra], which Clash praised as a “wonderful future pop bouncer.” Along the way, he also remixed music for Natalie Taylor, StaySolidRocky, and many others.

About Mokita:

For some artists, music might be an exercise in aesthetics, written emotionally guarded at arm’s length, or from the perspective of another. But for artists like Nashville’s Mokita, it’s an unrelentingly honest, deeply personal, unwaveringly confessional form of expression, an outlet to tackle the sincerest of subjects many songwriters are all-too-often afraid to address with such candor, in a style that bridges Mokita’s classical training and singer-songwriter upbringing with his work as a producer and a penchant for crafting layered and atmospheric modern electro-pop.

While 2019’s 4201 marked Mokita’s debut EP, a string of singles, remixes, stripped down releases, and collaborations had already netted the independent artist hundreds of millions of streams in the preceding years, leading to collaborations with artists like R3HAB, Lost Frequencies, and most recently, Ella Vos. Though still operating as a writer and producer within Nashville’s flourishing pop scene and beyond, and tackling remixes for an eye-popping array of national talent, it’s his own work, the earnest culmination of a lifetime of musical experience, that most definitively sets Mokita apart, as he continues to rise through the ranks as an exciting fixture of the electronic and pop scene.

Blue Canopy – Banji (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Blogwave, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Warm, soothing music of Blue Canopy. The composition combines tube synthesizers, sampling and competent job with the vocals. Clearly a favorite from the lastest Chillwave releases.”

“Тёплая, умиротворяющая музыка Blue Canopy. Композиция Banji сочетает в себе ламповые синтезаторы, грамотное семплирование и работу с вокалом. Чистый и такой любимый нами Chillwave.”

-Nagamag.com

Second single from forthcoming Blue Canopy EP 'Sleep While You Can' (out March 5) -- featuring Patrick from A Beacon School on guitar.

Blue Canopy's 'Sleep While You Can' is the newest entry from Portland-based multi-instrumentalist, Alex Schiff. Exploring the often unspoken anxiety related to having a child and what that means for losing the past version of one's self, the EP is beautifully introspective at a time where self-reflection is incredibly crucial.

Formerly the keyboardist and co-writer for indie band, Modern Rivals, the EP is a follow up to his 2020 debut, Mild Anxiety, which was produced alongside Patrick J Smith (A Beacon School), a frequent collaborator.

Quote from artist: "I'm really intrigued by the relationship developing between our dog Banjo and our first born, Graham. When my wife was pregnant with Graham, I had a funny thought, "what life advice would Banjo give Graham when he meets him?"

Kowloon – Late Last Night (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Blogwave, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Kowloon's, Late Last Night, is music for semantic unloading. Vintage synthesizers , echoes of a bygone era, where the calm bass and vocals draw a memorable picture.”

“Kowloon - это музыка для смысловой разгрузки. Винтажные синтезаторы в Late Last Night это отголоски ушедшей эпохи, где спокойные басовые партии и вокал рисуют запоминающиеся картины.”

-Nagamag.com

A Break-up to make-up to break-up to make-up-again anthem for Valentines day. Gently surging bass guitar, low fi drum machines and guitars that warble like the warped images on an old vhs tape. A vocal at once tired, romantic, hopeful and defeated. A plea for a second chance, and ultimately a celebration of love. The song ends with a triumphant disco-guitar riff and the repeated refrain "I believe."

https://www.instagram.com/officialkowloon/

Kowloon is a musician and filmmaker from Los Angeles, California. His debut album, ‘Come Over’, was written, performed, recorded and mixed in his home-studio in the industrial outskirts of the city. Blending vintage synths, drum machines, and bubbling bass lines with vocals inspired equally by The Talking Heads, Peter Gabriel, and Sly Stone, ‘Come Over’ is 35 minutes of danceable love songs - albeit love songs set in a time of digital malaise and looming ecological catastrophe, with anxious, dread-filled lyrics that are as timely as they are post-apocalyptic.

As individual musicians they have already remixed/produced artists such as: Lana Del Rey, Wankelmut, Metronomy, The DO, Booka Shade, Robot Koch, 2Raumwohnung etc... and have released on club labels such as Get Physical Music & DIYnamic Music.

Through their innovative music jam sessions and short videos on INSTAGRAM they have amassed over 26k followers organically and have an international loyal following, which is highly engaged. (over 3k comments alone on their key posts)

Verboten Berlin also has over 6M views of their v ideos on IG and especially the song “SYMMETRY” with almost 1M views on IG is an absolute fan-favorite and shows all positive signs of a “key song” for the duo.
For the main single version they collaborated with super-producer Jochen Naaf, who currently enjoys international success with the band GIANT ROOKS and also produced hits for acts such as: Bosse, Hundreds, Polarkreis 18 etc..
Quote of Jochen Naaf: “I’ve known Alex (singer of Verboten Berlin) since years and have always been a fan of his soulful voice. When they showed me the song, I immediately had a vision to do my own version. “Symmetry” has these magic moments and already feels like an “instant classic”. I loved playing around and combining the electronic elements with the more organic sounds of this masterpiece! “

In addition, Verboten Berlin has already worked with with many heavyweights of the electronic scene and their songs have been remixed by artists such as: Booka Shade, Rodriguez Jr., Tube & Berger, Monkey Safari, Aparde, Fejka (of Christian Löfflers KI Records) and also received playlist support by Spotify in key editorial playlists such as: New Music Friday, Electronic Rising, Low Key Tech, Afterhours...

The Verboten guys decided to also release their own special club version of SYMMETRY,
which they also perform live and has a different unique approach:

Musically the Club Remix starts with a electronic bell and some deep drums, it then slowly builds the atmospheric vibe by adding synth brass and arpeggiated Prophet sounds that interact with some light vocal chops.
After the vocals fade in for the breakdown, the tension keeps rising with the main vocal and some percussion and ramps before the full massive beat drops back in, right on point with the high chorus chants.
At this peak moment a syncopated synth line enters the picture and keeps pushing the remix forward with reverbs and detuned FX sounds before the song fades into the deep...

Lyrically the song examines the concept of “Symmetry”, how symmetry can transform things intobeauty, howtolookforthesubtledetails: “Whatyoulookatisnotwhatitseems....”
