Marcus Moon – The Moon Represents My Heart (Official Video w/ Lyrics) (Video)

Categories: Neoclassical, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , |

“-Marcus Moon- through a divine, unearthly vocal performance and a lush of gently harmonies , with his new song -The Moon Represents My Heart- deliver us cinematic emotions of a beautiful world that reflects inside us.

-Nagamag.com

The Moon Represents My Heart

An accessible, modern day aria set to the most beautiful words and images. Try to get through the poetic lyrics and haunting music (not to mention the angelic voice of opera singer Ania Hejnar) without having a few of your heart strings pulled. A box of tissues may come in handy for when your eyes get misty.

Just like the Moon inspires us to dream, and guides us through the dark night, so does your heart guide you when you need it the most, if you choose to listen to it.

Marcus Moon composes in the style and instrumentation of classical music, but with an unmistakable influence of modern day life. Deeply inspired by the singer/songwriters that he grew up listening to, there is always a story at the center of his work. Although his music is mostly without words, he paints the most vivid and heartfelt imagery using simple harmonies and very direct melodies, played on classical instruments, such as piano and cello.

His highly anticipated debut album is scheduled for release in December, 2020.

Chris Dodds Director on ‘ Looking Out For George’ (Raindance Film Festival Nominee 2002)

Renault to the left & Peugeot to the right

Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

In Void:
Neo-classical mainly. Also punk rock, opera and anything with accordians.

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

In Void:
Renault: I was a modern artist in the truest sense of the word. Some paint with a brush, others with a pallet knife or sponge, I, well...I paint with myself, if you get my drift. I dip my manly member in paint and let my passion be my guide. I dazzled the tourists for years on the streets of Mont Martre, singing opera arias all the while and even playing accordian while painting with my "all natural brush". It would seem that some of my female admirers were a bit too dazzled however, and a jealous husband threw me into the Seine, and when I crawled out, I saw the wretched face of Peugeot. From that moment on, we were inseparable.
Peugeot: I was the lead singer of a French punk band called "The Flaming Maggots" or "Les Asticots Enflammes" for a few years. We had a couple hit songs-maybe you've heard "Merde, merde merde!" or "Ton cul est tros grand! Va t'en, va t'en!". Then, I woke up one morning, hungover in a back alley of Paris and vomited on the person next to me, who turned out to be Renault, et voila, the rest is history.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

In Void:
Renault: I saw Mozart's "Don Giovanni" as a small garcon, and thought, "mon dieu, I want to grow up to be such a man! So many conquests, and set to such lovely music."
Peugeot: My dearly departed mother was a Sex Pistols groupie and so I heard their fine, skillful and passionate music every day in utero. I have sought to emulate them in thought, word and deed ever since. To this day, I wake up at 1pm every day to their masterpiece, "Frigging in the Rigging".

Nagamag:
Favorite book?

In Void:
Renault: Les Miserables, L'Etranger, Lolita, O Calcutta
Peugeot: One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

Nagamag:
Best shag ever?

In Void:
Peugeot: Brigitte Bardot or Queen Elizabeth. Too close to call.
Renault: Lady Gaga, hands down.

Nagamag:
Most artists have a favorite song from a different music genre than the one they are producing music for... Which is yours?

In Void:
Mozart (This is Renault's pick of the week, from his favorite opera, Don Giovanni. In this aria, the servant, Leporello lists his master Don Giovanni's thousands of other conquests in an effort to "console" a woman whose heart he has just broken. The piece is very near and dear to Renault's heart, for obvious reasons.) Madamina, il Catalogo

Zachary Bruno – Margin (improv) (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“What makes a feather light and why not be a fairy-tale hero? Just listen to Zachary Bruno and its new composition Margin (improv). And you go up into the air and fly high above the forest like a super hero feather. Fabulous adventure!”

“Что бы стать легким перышком не обязательно быть сказочным героем. Достаточно послушать Zachary Bruno и его композицию Margin (improv). И вы поднимитесь в воздух и полетите высоко над лесом. Сказочных приключений!”

-Nagamag.com

Margin is an improv inspired by the cultural and societal "new normals" everyone has undergone in the past few months. It describes distancing, quarantine, prayer, and alone-ness through the use of musical space and minimalism.

In August 2013, Zachary released his debut album, Before the Rain, which reached #37 on the New Age charts. Kathy Parsons, of MainlyPiano.com called the collection of original solo piano pieces “amazing music and an extraordinary beginning to a very promising career in music.” After being introduced to piano lessons at age 6, music composition almost instantly caught Zachary’s interest. And it wasn’t long before he was attempting to scribble down melodies and riffs onto homemade staff-paper. While composition came naturally to Zach, it took the constant encouragement of family and friends to finally persuade him to record his first album of his original compositions. Finally, after over 4 years of practicing, composing, and putting the final touches on the pieces, Zachary released his debut album of 12 original piano solos out into the world. The album would be titled, Before the Rain (2013). It did not take long before he saw an interest for his music, and a year later, he released his second album, Dawn Light (2014), which was promptly nominated and awarded 2015 Album of the Year by Whisperings Solo Piano Radio (2016). Zachary is currently working on his third solo piano album scheduled for release in late fall of 2018.

At certain times in our human experience we should look to the stars, because our solar system can seem a mystical marvel of consolation and comfort. The recent discovery by NASA of traces of water on the moon inspired me to put pen to manuscript paper and write this track. A bright star historically represents hope and rebirth, and optimism for our future.
