This acclaimed live outfit of Laurenz Karsten, Phillip Oertel and Tim Sarhan describe themselves as "three precision-obsessed control freaks that have honed their craft to a German industrial perfection." They have an uncompromising sound that welds together propulsive drums, unrepentant bass lines and searing guitars that cut through like acid. Their hedonistic live techno is crafted in analogue fashion with traditional instruments filtered through an impressive array of pedals and effects. Since forming in 2014, Komfortrauschen has played regularly at cult venues like Sisyphos, Kantine am Berghain and Kater Blau as well as all over Europe and beyond. Now they are ready for the world stage as they drop this vital debut album.

Powerful opener 'Bock' is an immediate banger, with taught, bouncing drums and rugged synth sequences permeated with flashes of acid. The visceral 'Tank' then layers up a knotted bassline and bright, searing stabs while 'Gym' is a surging and linear techno roller with scintillating percussion and sleek synth work. Lead single, 'Kapital' explores gritty broken beats and skewed pads as soulful vocal layers bring warm human emotion.

The excellent 'Da Hurt' is a prime slice of characterful techno with hooky synth motifs, slamming drums and swing in the kicks that draws you in deep. The robust Komfortrauschen sound continues with the lashing acid and hammering drums of 'Reload,' and 'KR#01' heads off into a more expansive world of cosmic melody with surging drums and widescreen chords. Finally, 'Zero' ends this most arresting record with a deeper, more undulating techno offering filled with raw percussion and well-crafted guitar lines.

‘K’ is a superb live techno album that showcases Komfortrauschen's unique sound in explosive fashion.

henrikz – Over Again

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“There are moments when we regret about our behaviour and there's still time to fix it. The Danish producer and songwriter "henrikz" has managed to capture feelings of heartbreak in an immersive vocal performance and the hookiest EDM rhythms.”

-Nagamag.com

"Over Again” was sent to him in a demo, containing only vague piano sounds, lyrics and vocals – and with a sole listen, Henrik dug into his home studio. The single is made by henrikz, as well as songwriter & vocalist Robbie Rosen and his co-writer Jessica Lattmann. This single is their third release together.

The Danish EDM- and Dance Pop producer, songwriter and remixer henrikz captures sensitive feelings and intimate state of affairs with overthinking and the coping of a heartbreak as the focal points & -themes. Acing the match between melodic influence and lyrics, he succeedingly puts his groovy ambiances and Dance Pop electronic touch on the single.

A quote from Henrik on the collab with R.R. in “Over Again”: Robbie is a truly talented singer, and he is insanely good at expressing the feeling throughout the melody. My well-considered music production is amplified through the way Robbie sings it; It kinda sounds like he is ready to cry. “Over Again” is filled with the feeling that you want to fix a relationship that has ended – or a relationship on the verge of ending. The idea is rooted in the “if”’s; If you could go back in time, you would have done everything in your power to fix the problems and never give up on it. The tone and emotion of Robbie Rosen’s voice says it all."

“Nostalgic bass, synth ambience and hypnotic vocals form the core of "Paultra Violet" first release. The most suitable sound for your relaxing moments is already here. Enjoy listening with a cold drink, while watching the setting Sun.”

-Nagamag.com

I WILL FIND YOUR HEART is Paultra Violet's first release. It was written in April of 2021 while singer/writer Joey Palestina was bedridden with CoVid19 for a month. Blending synths with a deep croon, I WILL FIND YOUR HEART brings a nostalgic cup of tea to those who love groups like Depeche Mode and early NIN. Somber and hypnotic.

More about Paultra Violet:

What began as emailed demos between actor Joey Palestina (HBO's We Own This City) and composer Spencer Miles (Space Fight) during the height of the 2020 pandemic, soon became a project too thick to sleep in desktop files.

Once the duo added producer and synth fiend Joel Hunter Martin (Y God Y), Palestina’s fragmented lyrics became moody journal entries, charged by a digital lust for modern love.

Now with musicians across the planet contributing to the electro-pop project, Paultra Violet has four singles ready to drop and a debut album that hits ears in Fall '22.

Equinøx – Tear Apart

Categories: Audio, Electronica, The Latest|Tags: , |

“"Equinøx" raises the bar higher with another masterpiece. Feel that crystal melody and wide pads merging together in a mix of House rhythms which can easily become memorable. Light and heavier patterns alternate turns bringing energy with their flow.”

-Nagamag.com

Interstellar expertise from equinøx soundtracks what it’s like to sit on top of the world as viewed from an immersive, progressive trance perspective. The two tracker begins by gracefully allowing time to clear your mind and exhale: the stopwatch melodies of ‘Tear Apart’ travel deep into the heart of space, equinøx’s gliding, panoramic sound awed and unfazed as one. Thrusting a little harder in comparison to its more delicate counterpart, ‘The Answer’ continues its wondrous voyage to amplify the senses; heavily atmospheric as it reaches a heavenly altitude, but equipped with punchy technology to keep dancefloors on high alert.
