Annabel Gutherz made her debut in 2018 with the release of “Legends,” a philanthropic song whose proceeds are donated to education-based charities. After spending the past few years honing her musical talents at Berklee College of Music, the young singer-songwriter has come into her own as a promising artist to watch.
Her debut album, Loose Ends, was released in October 2021. The album was received favorably, with tastemakers like Melodic Magazine praising the record as “a pure, intimate coming-of-age album that does well to introduce us to who Annabel is as a person and as an artist.” Over the course of the 11 tracks, Annabel cathartically explores life’s unfinished moments with a diaristic touch. “I Won’t Give Up” is an uplifting love song. It focuses on the feeling of knowing you’ll support through the highs and lows. I wrote the song with my very good friend Sillkey. We’d hired an Airbnb halfway between our houses (between London and Brighton) to write for 3 days. This song came out of nowhere! From the first idea to having the demo recorded was no more than 2 hours.” - Ryan adds.

Alongside his solo career, Ryan is a part of the band SLANG and has written for other artists including Noah Kahan, Jasmine Thompson and Kolidescopes. Ryan’s passion for mental health led him to working with I Am Whole and later leading Movember’s music and mental health projects. He has now founded a new music/mental health charity in the UK.
Ryan has been writing and recording a lot behind the scenes - he co-wrote Noah Kahan’s single “Animal, as well as writing with Corey Harper, Jasmine Thompson and Jacob Banks - but is now very happy to be releasing “I Won’t Give Up”, “ leading up to an album release in 2022.”, he adds.

“Fall Asleep” plays out like an orchestral dreamscape, a hazy lullaby…exploring femininity and vulnerability in the face of abuse and peace-keeping. It showcases my vocal & classical-piano performance, along with an unfurling string quartet. It’s meditative, romantic, and mysterious, with dark-meets-light and Arab-fusion influences.
This brand new music video was a remote collaboration from Los Angeles to Toronto, capturing the dance between the familiar, and the pull towards something greater. It’s a terrifying limbo, but all the more worthwhile: daring to indulge those glimmers of freedom beyond our daydreams, when we’ve been taught to place the world’s comfort over our own.
Through this cinematic ballad, my hope is to champion visibility for fellow first-generation daughters of immigrants whose dual-identity limbo often intensifies our experience of early adulthood.

Les retours de sa communauté sont unanimes: cette reprise est déconcertante de beauté. La sincérité avec laquelle elle donne une nouvelle vie au morceau donne des frissons aux plus insensibles. Paola Frankel aka Joe, counts the French rapper Ichon among her most important sources of inspiration. She decides one day to film herself playing the track “Mirror” and then posts the video on Instagram. The feedback from his community is unanimous: this cover is astonishingly beautiful. The sincerity with which she gives a new life to the song will give goosebumps to the most insensitive of her followers. Ichon himself ends up approving the video : she therefore decides to produce it and include it into her upcoming EP “Morphée” which will be released in January on Cookie Records.
