Song Review: “Green” by Cat Rose Smith | A Rock Discovery

Music Review:

“Green” by Cat Rose Smith glows with the kind of warmth that feels effortlessly restorative, turning each passing moment into something intimate and weightless. The melody drifts with a carefree softness, carrying an understated emotional clarity that never demands attention yet quietly lingers. Smith’s vocals, airy and almost otherworldly in tone, cast a delicate spell over the track, balancing fragility with quiet confidence. Beneath the dreamlike atmosphere, the rhythm moves with a gentle pulse, subtle and reassuring, giving the song a tender sense of stability that makes its calm feel entirely immersive rather than merely soothing.”

Lyrics of Cat Rose Smith – Green

I’ll remember you in green, my love
It’s not fair the way the seasons turn us
Round and round again
Do you love me like you did, that
When the river rushed
And I was something new

CHORUS
Nobody wants to grieve, do they?
Nobody wants to leave only memories
All of the branches bare, baby
But I believe in green
Oh I believe in green

If I take my body back to that
Quiet pond which once reflected open souls
To me
Will my bones and skin and teeth
Remember
All the magic that once came so easily

CHORUS
Nobody wants to grieve, do they?
Nobody wants to leave only memories
All of the branches bare, baby
But I believe in green
Oh I believe in green
