Moses Brown (Album Version) – Kenny Mehler

Lyrics of Kenny Mehler – Moses Brown (Album Version)

Mississippi
Sing it with me
How do you like me now?
Hallelujah
What’s it to ya
He used to say with a smile now

Mississippi is a place where I want to go now
There’s a town where Moses Brown got down
He picked the pieces up staggered around
Worked nights in the kitchen thinking there was some place he’d rather be
He saved enough to get back on his feet
If you listen you can hear him speak
Darlin’ he said

Mississippi
Sing it with me
How do you like me now?
Hallelujah
What’s it to ya
He used to say with a smile now
Mississippi
Sing it with me
How do you like me now?
Hallelujah
What’s it to ya
Were’ getting down with the sound from Moses Brown
How do you like me now?

Moses liked his woman as much as he liked his wine
On the banks of the Mississippi river is where he spent his time
(Ya know he did yeah)
I can remember the day he lost his mind in a couple of ways
A bottle of booze and a banjo and now the old mans doing fine
You know he said

Mississippi
Sing it with me
How do you like me now?
Hallelujah
What’s it to ya
He used to say with a smile now
Mississippi
Sing it with me
How do you like me now?
Hallelujah
What’s it to ya
Were’ getting down with the sound from Moses Brown
How do you like me now?
How do you like me now?
How do you like me now?

One day by the river Moses had more than a little now come on
Fell in wearing nothing but his skin ya know at least that’s how the story goes
They say if you listen by the bridge at the end of the town
You can still hear the sound of Moses Brown
Rockin’ ya down Rockin’ ya down
Rockin’ ya down from the underground
You know he said

Mississippi
Sing it with me
How do you like me now?
Hallelujah
What’s it to ya
He used to say with a smile now
Mississippi
Sing it with me
How do you like me now?
Hallelujah
What’s it to ya
(what’s it to ya know come on)

Mississippi
Sing it with me
How do you like me now?
Hallelujah
What’s it to ya
He used to say with a smile now
Mississippi
Sing it with me
How do you like me now?
Hallelujah
What’s it to ya
Mississippi
Sing it with me
How do you like me now?
Hallelujah
What’s it to ya
He used to say with a smile now
Mississippi
Sing it with me
How do you like me now?
Hallelujah
What’s it to ya
