Lonely Trees – Jeremy Marshall Blanton

Lyrics of Jeremy Marshall Blanton – Lonely Trees

If you need me you know where to find me
Staying up, looking out for your call
If you don’t hear from me, I ain’t gone under
I’m probably just out front on the porch, I let myself get a little too stoned

while playing tricks in my head to keep me sane
But I’ll be ready to pack my bags and fold away the pain

I’m not alone as I make my way on that northern drive
Got the lonely trees in the median on ninety five
And just like them, I’ve been feeling out of place
that’s the nature of time, distance, space

when we’re apart, so I’m moving just as fast as this car will let me
and my heart is beating my body to where you are

Even though I know it’s just for a little while
I get to hold you close
I get to hold you tight before we go

lonely trees stay connected underground
where lonely lovers get lost and found
our roots will keep on growing
and our leaves in the wind blowing
until they bring you home
