Myra and Gabe Gleason are embarking on a new era, turning the page on the last 5 years as traveling troubadours in Stereo RV. For starters, they are dropped the name and ushering in Gleeson with their 5 release, Empty Pages (placement in CW’s Batwoman 1/12/22). Like most artists, the pandemic forced them to evolve and navigate, experimenting with new ideas and fresh approaches.

The heart of their decision to change their name to Gleeson, came from a place of “shedding expectations and ideas that people, as well as ourselves, had for our music.” Myra explains, “When we started Stereo RV, we were just married, living in a literal RV, touring part-time and writing songs based off of the real life inspiration from the kids I was working with in foster care. After two years of living and touring on the road, relocating to Sacramento from Portland, and then a pandemic, it forced us to dig deep at what we really wanted. Both Gabe and I realized that we had stopped writing the songs we wanted to write, because we were so focused on numbers and trajectory. I remember turning to Gabe and saying, “I’m more concerned with the condition of people’s heart, than writing the next catchy pop song.”

With the success of their music being featured on a number of hit TV shows including “All American,” “DC Legends,” “Shameless,” “The Good Doctor,” “The Sex Lives of Collage Girls” as well as trailers for ABC and Amazon ad space, Gleeson adds the indie label Watersound Entertainment to their innovativeness and creativity.

Critically acclaimed New Zealand born singer songwriter Jamie McDell releases her highly anticipated self-titled album today through ABC Music.

The enchanting artist recorded her fourth studio album in Nashville, teaming up with Nash Chambers in his eastside studio and drawing on the amazing musical talents of Dan Dugmore, Jedd Hughes, Dennis Crouch, Shawn Fichter, Jerry Roe, Jimmy Wallace, Tony Lucido and Ross Holmes, along with guests such as the McCrary Sisters, Robert Ellis, Erin Rae and Tom Busby.

Containing Jamie’s most brutally honest moments, in both writing and performance, this new long player features musicians and production that takes you on a modern journey through 70s folk and country, blended with a healthy dose of roots and rock.

"Limousine Running" was the most difficult to finish on the record. Says McDell, "the sentiment Nash, Phil and I had originally come up with began to become something I was losing connection with so we left it for awhile. We decided to record a band version and were so excited about the players performance and production that I knew I needed to find a story that was interesting to me."

Get Back in the Groove is about getting out of a funk and empowering ourselves to keep pushing through. With a gentle lyrical reminder to give ourselves a little grace, the song hopes to make those in need of a little boost or pick-me-up, feel good.

Better is a song about two people falling in love at an early age, just to later find out they weren’t perfect for each other. Going off and on, trying to fix what’s broken but no matter how hard they try, it always results in being dark and evil. They refuse to admit it, but the best solution would simply be to let go - for the better.

"I wrote and recorded this piece during the 2020 pandemic lockdown. It features piano, 2 violins, and 4 cellos (all live). The piece is minimalistic in style with a sweet melody. I honestly wrote this piece for myself during the pandemic to keep sane and work through some of the isolation. I love the minimalistic style and it was nice to take a step back from demanding projects and just focus on writing something that resonated with me. I’m happy to share it with those that want to listen!

A little but about me: I work professionally as a film/game composer in LA and have written additional music for TV shows The Walking Dead (s8-9), Outlander (s3-5), Marvel’s Agents of Shield (s4-6) and others. I also do a lot of writing for Call of Duty Mobile. Additionally I write a lot of trailer music for AUDIOMACHINE, a post production music studio in LA. In this third and last single before the full album drops; multi-instrumentalist, vocalist & producer Folly Tree steps into the unknown: “How I got here, I can’t tell…” as gently-plucked guitar and strings blossom around her. Folly Tree manages to create mesmerizing, deep atmospheres that touch challenging subjects.

The song examines feelings of isolation after experiencing trauma — and the satisfaction of survival that can follow. The song’s video, which Alex dreamt up and co-produced, illustrates the push and pull of these emotions. She awakens in a tower, free from time and space, but a presence from the past holds her back. By the time she sings “I’m more alone than I appear,” it’s not a plea, it’s a proud declaration.
