Rasta Phil, is a talented musician and performer who started his music career after moving from Trinidad to Boston, U.S.A. in his teens. Rasta Phil quickly rose to success as a mentor, co-producer, and advisor to many famous celebrities during the ‘80s and ‘90s. His originality and positive lyrical content are well known internationally along with his acting and production work. Over the years Rasta Phil has successfully nurtured close ties with a broad network of famous actors, artists, producers, and directors in both Hollywood and the Canadian entertainment industry.
Early in his career while in Boston, Rasta’s musical ability led him to work and tour with Ralph Tresvant and Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. He also performed on The Arsenio Hall Show, one of the many times he created an unprecedented vibe during his live performances.
After migrating to Canada Rasta Phil focused on movies and acting. He has collaborated with and remains close to many giants in the entertainment industry such as Mark Wahlberg, Michael Budman (Owner of Roots Canada), Kate Hudson, Gina Rodriguez, Kevin Bacon, Laura Haddock, Josh Duhamel, Isabela Moner, Anthony Hopkins, John Singleton, James Foley, Antoine Fuqua, Danny Glover, Ned Beatty, Ludacris, Bokeem Woodbine, Mila Kunis, Alyssa Milano, Reese Weatherspoon, Post Malone, Jimmy Butler and many more.

The teaser from the first episode of the concert film series “WeLive on Tour” is here and comes up with a highly exciting combination: The concert film combines the singer Hannah Wilhelm from Lahr and the already well-known funk band FATCAT – singer-songwriter meets funk. The live video for “Oh Welt”, written by Hannah Wilhelm and arranged by FATCAT, released on 8 June, offers a first taste. German lyrics meet funky brass interludes and great voices.
“It’s totally amazing to see the result for the first time,” Hannah Willhelm said happily after the release. Even on stage, she didn’t notice exactly what was happening around her, “because I just had so much fun. What FATCAT has done with the song is unbelievable. And also what the WeLive team did with the song is unbelievable. I’m just ultra happy happy happy” about the result, says the singer.
FATCAT frontman Kenny Joyner is also satisfied with the film, shot in the Sternenberghalle Friesenheim. Because of Corona, they couldn’t rehearse as usual before a gig, so they had to make do via digital rehearsals. “It was something new for all of us. But it was a lot of fun,” says Joyner.
Hannah Wilhelm achieved nationwide fame in 2020 through her participation in the German casting show “The Voice of Germany”. The funk band FATCAT from Freiburg, on the other hand, is no longer a newcomer and has even been on the main stage of the Montreux Jazz Festival. The concert film series “WeLive on Tour” will release their first joint concert film with titles by Hannah Wilhelm and FATCAT on 20 June 2021, so you can look forward to it!

Der Teaser für die erste Episode der Konzertfilm-Serie “WeLive on Tour” ist da und wartet gleich mit einer hochspannenden Kombination auf: Der Konzerfilm vereint die Lahrer Sängerin Hannah Wilhelm und die bereits bestens bekannte Funkband FATCAT – Singer-Songwriter trifft also auf Funk. Ein erster Vorgeschmack bietet das am 08. Juni veröffentlichte Live-Video zu “Oh Welt”, geschrieben von Hannah Wilhelm, arrangiert von FATCAT. Deutsche Texte treffen auf funkige Bläsereinlagen und großartige Stimmen. “Es ist total krass, jetzt erstmals das Ergebnis zu sehen”, freute sich Hannah Willhelm nach der Veröffentlichung. Sie habe selbst auf der Bühne gar nicht genau mitbekommen, was alles um sie herum passiert ist, “weil ich einfach so viel Spaß hatte. Was FATCAT aus dem Song gemacht hat ist unfassbar. Und auch was das WeLive-Team aus dem Song gemacht hat ist unfassbar. Ich bin einfach nur ultra happy happy happy”, so die Sängerin.

The serene beauty of duo Mirabai Ceiba’s upcoming album The Quiet Hour is a timely antidote, set for an August 27th release on Spirit Voyage. Mental Minority is a one-man electronic music project from Bremen, Germany. I´m creating music under this name for more than 20 years now, for the last nine years mostly in the Synthwave/Retrowave genre – often melancholic, sometimes light-hearted and sometimes dark, always trying to avoid the too obvious cliches of the genre but keeping it more…personal.

Producer, Singer-Songwriter R・O・N’s project STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION has pre-released its newest single “OMEGA” on all music streaming platforms before the actual CD press version that is scheduled to be released on June 2nd, 2021. As introduced, the new track had been completed in literally meaning “the ultimate” dance tune, being precisely calculated and crafted into the finest dance music.
“OMEGA” has been chosen as the ending theme song for the 2nd seasons of the popular anime series “Moriarty the Patriot”. Moriarty the Patriot is based on the story of William James Moriarty, nemesis to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes. “OMEGA” follows up from his previous work “ALPHA” which had also been the ending theme song for the 1st season. Just like how a detective novel would have its hint drawing plots, the song not only traps those who are anime fans, but also pure music lovers with its cleverly designed tones.
