Steve Luck – The Haven (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“The unique waves of sound from his fingertips, and the incessant roar of hungry seagulls over your head. -The Haven- can directly draw music notes on the seasand. This piece is devoid of superfluous gloss, but saturated with careful attention in detail and pleasant piano playing.”

“Шум оглушающих волн у самых кончиков пальцев и непрекращающийся гул изголодавшихся чаек над головой. -The Haven- рисует ноты прямо на песке. Он лишён лишнего лоска песен, но насыщен внимательным отношением к деталям и приятной слуху игрой пиано.”

-Nagamag.com

Artist shared few words behind the inspiration of this song with Nagamag:

" The piece is named after the house that I spent many of my childhood holidays in Northumberland. It belonged to my great aunt and had loads of space around it. It was detached with a large garden and surrounded by farmers’ fields, close to the east coast railway line. The house was on a quiet road that was only populated by the odd car carrying people coming to play golf on the links course which was just down the road. It was also just a few hundred yards from a huge expanse of beautiful and largely deserted beach and the sound of the sea was in the air the whole time.

I did not necessarily realise at the time, but as a kid growing up, the quietness and the space around it provided a stark contrast to life in the city and it became a special place to experience nature, to dream, to imagine and to expand the possibilities. "

Glennellen Anderson – Fanfiction (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“The history of -Glennellen Anderson- proves that miracles do happen and her track -Fanfiction- indicates that the author stands in the intersection of two genres. Those smooth transitions from one mood to another, is one of the most surprising aspects.”

“История -Glennellen Anderson- подтверждение того, что чудеса случаются и её трек -Fanfiction- указывает на то, как автор существует на стыке жанров и подачи материала и с лёгкостью переходит из одного настроения в другое, — одно из самых удивительных её свойств.”

-Nagamag.com

Fanfiction is a melancholy story about the phone call that was never had from a breakup that still haunts you. It starts with initially understanding why you know the relationship is over but soon spirals over all the reasons you don't understand how someone you loved could hurt you like this. The spoken word bridge is chilling and the layers of the last chorus act as all the voices in your head telling you to stay and move on as you finally breakdown and accept that there is no saving this.

https://www.instagram.com/glennellen/

Glennellen Anderson has made only two promises to herself for this life. One, she would never dye or change her natural red locks and two, she would absolutely make a name for herself in this industry. At no surprise to anyone, she has definitely kept her word.

The redhead wow'd on hit show AMERICAN IDOL, impressing the judges at only 15 years old, and was asked to return a few years later after she'd gained more experience.

At 19, Glennellen returned to the show - this time, soaring through to Hollywood week with a golden ticket in hand. After competing G went on to record and co-produce her debut album, Perspective, and landed a distribution deal with Hitman Records. It sold out its first year, having been made available with Target, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and more.

Anderson decided her next move was to take on the world. G collaborated with French/German duo Cosmow on pop single, "AFTERGLOW," and reached #4 on the Top 20 in Greece, #14 on the Greece Dance Charts and the track is now spinning on some of the biggest iHeart Radio platforms, including Jay-Z's TIDAL.

With a multitude of headlining shows at hollywoods hottest venues such as the Whiskey A Go Go and The Hotel Cafe under her belt, all eyes are on G to see what she'll acomplish next!

“Very concise and elegant composition, whose style of work with the lyrics reveals an expressive mood, good atmosphere and all that accompanies them. -Different Planet- is a simple but interesting and inventive song. A sample of creative freedom.”

“Весьма лаконичная и элегантная композиция, чей стиль работы с текстом транслирует выразительное настроение, атмосферу и всё, что им сопутствует. -Different Planet- это простая, но интересная и изобретательная песня. Настоящий манифест творческой свободы.”

-Nagamag.com

Artist shared few words about this song with Nagamag:

"Everything is different still the same. This song is based on my personal story of facing the unknown, navigating challenges and taking new steps despite of it. Catchy electro-beat vocal melodies dance on a programming with pumping electro house-influences, produced by a team of experienced Swiss producers. The music video features 360 footage filmed from a tower and various locations. Singing in an astronaut costume, the visual turning planet effects add to the fresh sound and amped mood."

Lydia's song-story began a long time ago. Falling in love with the piano at an early age has allowed her to integrate her real life experiences into lyrics and melodies in her songs. Growing up in a small village in Switzerland, she spent several years living abroad in Australia and Sweden; experiences which have left a clear mark on her musical journey. When Lydia's journey took an unexpected and abrupt turn through a serious chronic illness, she decided to keep writing music against all odds. Now, she is taking the next step to release her own songs that have a fresh sound of modern electro-pop. The story continues!

“-BADA- can be considered as an expressive release with not a sharp transition from the old principles and ideas. It is observed from the sound, but also by a bunch of musical ideas from afrobeats to lo-fi and deep house.”

“-BADA- выразительный релиз; не резкий переход от прежних принципов и идей, а их логическое продолжение. Это наблюдается с саундом, впитавшим кучу музыкальных идей, — от afrobeats до lo-fi и deep house.”

Suzie Ungerleider – Baby Blues (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“The immediately recognisable, distinctive & melodic tones of Suzie Ungerleider’s vocal leaves you in no doubt that this lady was destined to be a distinguished musician. Suzie has that knack of expressing a world of emotion with a handful of carefully chosen words. A polished production, this is a late night, lights down low song to be enjoyed with a glass or two of your favourite tipple.”

-Nagamag.com

Two-time JUNO Award nominee Suzie Ungerleider officially opens a new chapter of her already distinguished and highly successful career with the August 13 release of her new album entitled My Name is Suzie Ungerleider. It's her first since the artist formerly known as Oh Susanna announced that she would now record and perform under her birth name.

https://twitter.com/SuzUngerleider

Bursting with trademark evocative melodies and trenchant lyrics, it's the tenth solo studio album by the American-born, Canadian-raised artist revered for such landmark records as Johnstown, Sleepy Little Sailor and A Girl in Teen City. The decision to say “so long” to her long-time moniker Oh Susanna represents her recognition that the “exciting, dark, funny, charming” character that she thought was Oh Susanna was actually Suzie Ungerleider (pronounced Unger-lye-der) all along. “So here I am, leaving behind the trappings of a persona that gave me the courage to climb up onstage and reveal what is in my heart,” she reflects. “It once protected me, but I need to take it off so I can be all of who I am.”

https://www.facebook.com/suzieungerleider

The name change is both a personal and political decision, fuelled by her realization that 'Oh Susanna,' the Stephen Foster song of 1848, contained racist imagery and a belief system that she wanted no part of. She came to understand its historic associations to Minstrelsy, a tradition both demeaning and dehumanizing to black people. Leaving Oh Susanna behind, she's become her true self with a wonderful record that marks a fresh beginning, a collection of new compositions that refresh and redefine who Suzie Ungerleider is. The album also marks a new relationship with UK Label MVKA (Eva Cassidy, BOY, Sarah Blasko). "We’ve always been massive fans of Suzie’s mesmerising voice and songs having worked her first 3 albums at another label. To be involved with Suzie’s music again is a privilege and feels like a homecoming;’’ shares Andrew Bowles (Director at MVKA). Suzie reciprocates those feelings with "I love working with Andrew and Tom from MVKA. I love their honesty, sense of humour, artist-centric ethic, and of course their lovely accents.”

https://www.instagram.com/suzieungerleider/

The new album is introduced by the characteristically searing 'Baby Blues,' a song about how the traumatic events we witness when we're young can haunt and indeed shape our older selves. It's a deep subject with an upbeat punchline. “Like ghosts,” she says, “sometimes you just need to just sit with them, feel their power, and, because they feel seen, they release their hold on you for a little while.” Elsewhere, the album depicts an older and wiser artist and mother sometimes writing for her daughter, both at the time of her dramatically premature birth and miraculous survival on the achingly pretty 'Summerbaby' and, now a teenager herself, courageously dealing with her own identity on the intimate 'Hearts,' on which mountains of blue watch over her.

Now based again in her home town of Vancouver, she made My Name is Suzie Ungerleider with producer Jim Bryson (Kathleen Edwards, Kalle Mattson, Skydiggers), whose assured touch amplifies the atmospheric dreamscapes contained in Suzie's reflective, intimate songbook.

“The story-telling creation of love and life has a name; "The Fall". Smooth and gradual progression, craftful acoustic melodies and words comming from the heart. Pure magic with the contribution of two experienced artists.”

This is the third single from my upcoming EP “Prism” - a remake of my old song Waterfall dressed in an acoustic chamber-pop style, with some freshed up lyrics and a new title. Joining me as featuring artist is Emil Svangängen a.k.a Loney Dear https://www.loneydear.com/ , making this into a duet about two people realising that their love for each other has come to an end.
