Klangkarussell – Follow (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, House, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“"Follow" this brilliant sound design of Klangkarussell & GIVVEN at Bias Beach Records, delivering a summer melancholy through their chill house beats. Dreamy warm vocals and lush reverbs with a groove that will make you move. A song that you want to end a great night at club.”

-Nagamag.com

Klangkarussell x GIVVEN’s ‘Follow’ drops almost a year to the day since Klangkarussell launched Bias Beachwith ‘Comoros’, their first single away from a major label deal that spawned hit singles ‘Sonnentanz’ and ‘Time’, and their debut album, ‘Netzwerk’. Going independent has proven to be a winning strategy: Klangkarussell nowhave over 2.75 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone, spurred by the huge success of a run of singles, and Bias Beach has become home to other artistic configurations such as GIVVEN, who featured on ‘Ghostkeeper’and comprise Klang’s Adrian alongside Jordan and Nico.

Adrian and Tobi’s last single, ‘My World’ (feat. Kyle Pearce), and the accompanying short film, revisitedenvironmental issues that Klangkarussell have previously touched upon in their songs. This single joined ‘Shipwreck’ as a two-track release and has so far had over 3 million streams. Ahead of this came ‘Ghostkeeper’, their previous collaboration with GIVVEN, which has now hit over 7 million streams.

‘Comoros’ was Bias Beach’s debut release, and at the time Klangkarussell’s first new music in over 2 years. The burst of studio activity had followed a summer of standout festival performances and sold out headline shows that saw them play to crowds in the UK (sold out Night Tales London), Europe (including taking the Saturday night honours at Benicassim), Beirut and South America. This January, Tobi and Adrian played another sold out headline show at Night Tales London (which saw queues around the block), with further DJ dates in Europe and beyond. Forthcoming shows have been cancelled and rescheduled where possible due to coronavirus.

Klangkarussell, which translates to English as "Sound Carousel", were formed in Salzburg, Austria by Tobias Rieser and Adrian Held. Both respected producers in their own right, they first broke through with the jazz-tinged instrumental club record ‘Sonnentanz’, which reached the Top 10 singles chart in 6 different countries, including No.1 in The Netherlands. Like many dance artists faced with unexpected success, a record they’d written for their own DJ sets had taken on a life of it’s own, and when a vocal version - retitled ‘Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine)’ and featuring British soul singer Will Heard - was released the following summer, the track charted in both the UK and Ireland, going on to become one of the biggest dance records of this decade (despite the pair shunning all publicity).

Following the success of ‘Sonnentanz’, the duo then released their second single, ‘Netzwerk (Falls Like Rain)’, featuring vocalist Tom Havelock, and which also became a hit. Klangkarussell’s debut album, ‘Netzwerk’, appeared soon after and sporting the singles ‘Hey Maria’ and ‘In the Crowd Alone’ appeared in 2016, followed by ‘Time’, ‘Circuits’, and ‘Good to Go’ in 2017. Musically, and with the type of creative freedom they had during their initial rise to fame, both Tobi and Adrian have entered a new decade exactly where they want to be.

-Nagamag.com

Singer-songwriter Geena Fontanella has a knack for penning alt-pop hits and does it again with her new single "Circles," due out next week. The L.A. creative pens her intimate thoughts about not fitting into someone else's mold and pairs it with electrifying production.

The indie artist brings doesn't give a f**k about what other people think and brings that energy to the pop world with creative production, powerful vocals, introspective lyrics and hint of sass that leaves you begging for more.

The L.A-based singer-songwriter fell in love with music as a young kid. "I remember my mom bought me a stereo for my birthday and everyday for a year I would put in a cd and try to hit every note and run I could. Practicing over and over again. For me, it was the first thing I truly fell in love with," she explains. It wasn't until high-school that she realized her passion for writing.

"When I was a sophomore in high school, I watched a video of Katy Perry saying, 'How can you really perform a song and feel it, if you didn't write it?' I think what really struck me was that I realized, I could never be a great performer if I didn't become a great writer. I didn't want anything standing in my way of being great, so I started immediately."

Fontanella brings her refined style to "Circles," a hypnotic and rebellious dance-bop. The track flirts with electronic production and features crunchy guitars and a lilting melody. As the track blooms, a variety of vocal effects make for a unique bridge that grabs you immediately. Fontantella's artistry is abundantly clear as she shares her experience of not fitting into someone else's mold.

The Bow – Desire (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Desire from "The Bow" at TAOF Records is a minimal indie pop song with a dreaming melancholic vibe which come across through a soft piano and the the warm deep vocals of the band, layered with gentle beats and partly with a synth line, a storytelling for a couple who have fallen out of love.”

-Nagamag.com

Indie pop group The Bow releases new single ‘Desire’ on August 1st on all major streaming platforms. The song takes the listener on a dreamy journey with a couple who have fallen out of love.

Self-described as a “creative and emotional journey”, The Bow combines the raw emotional vocals of Rafael Sotomayor and the musicianship of Tomek Witiak and Robin Schwarzfeld to create dreamy indie pop tunes leading up to their debut album, which is set to be released later in 2020.

Influenced by Coldplay, Muse and Ed Sheeran, The Bow have previously released three singles and accompanying music videos, with the latest single “Quiet Night” described as a modern lullaby. These songs all provide a glimpse into the full experience of The Bow and what they have in store. Their latest single ‘Desire’ is out now on all major streaming platforms.

Formed in 2019, the trio consisting of Rafael Sotomayor, Tomek Witiak and Robin Schwarzfeld combine their unique styles into a melange of Indie and Pop. The newly formed band has released three singles since the beginning of 2020 and have many more to come all the way up until their debut album, set for release later in 2020. With many years of making music on their backs and having previously been in the successful band The Art of Fusion together, the group is now looking to create their own new Indie Pop sound with catchy melodies and lyrics. The decision to strive more towards Pop music was made as this allows for reaching a bigger audience while talking about personal experiences. The band strives for an emotional sound and to achieve their dreams of sharing their music with the world and connecting people through it.

Originating in the town of Frankfurt, Germany, the lead singer Rafael wants to make his dream come true of touching people with his music and his personal views on life and love. With the strong and emotional vocals of Rafael Sotomayor and the deep and soft instrumentals of his band members they produce their unique sound, which is, in their own words, Pop music with a pinch of Alternative. The ideas for the songs came during a period where Rafael had to fight with his own feelings and tried to process these into songs. With their goal to create links between people with their music, The Bow wants to remind their audience that emotions are one of our greatest gifts. With the success of their four already released singles and their music videos, as well as the success story of their previous band, it seems The Bow is a group to watch as they are making a buzz in the Indie Pop scene.

In the bands words: “Through our music, we open ourselves to the listeners and as an artist we compromise to not ignore the problems in the world and this we consider a must. We as musicians are with our art a mirror of society and to influence it in a positive way is our aim. Confronting injustice and dreaming of a better now.”

MΛD FVN – Skeletons (Spotify)

“A top notch electro pop with wonderful sound design full of diversity and energy, and with a vocal style which follows the same and stands out of the usual forma. MΛD FVN, She knows the “skeletons” in your closet: the lies you’ve kept from her, the disguises you put on. You hid your true self, and now that she is smart enough to know better, you can’t hide from her anger. ”

-Nagamag.com

MΛD FVN share with us few words about her:
"When I was 12, I was in an ATV accident with my brother. Then again, at age 21, I had an even worse ATV accident. Neither time was I the one driving, so other than them teaching me to never trust others with heavy machinery, they also left me with a constant, unnerving awareness of death. I realized that my biggest fear is not dying, but dying before I have the chance to give what I love, whether it’s people or passion, all that I’ve got was not an option. Those experiences gave me the gift of perseverance and perspective. I adore every moment of happiness, sadness, and everything in between, with music fueling my purpose to have a life worth living.

Music has always been my saving grace, my true passion, and my ultimate talent. Since I was a little girl, gathering crowds in department stores because I couldn’t help but sing and dance to Britney Spears playing on the store radio, I knew I was born to entertain. From singing, to dancing, to songwriting, to performing, I was born to be a singer like a cat to tearing apart furniture (I know, because I have two). Music gives me the power to embrace every part of who I am in my darkest times to my best moments, all while connecting with people from across the globe. Since growing up traveling the world, from living in Saudi Arabia to backpacking across Asia with my best friend, my ultimate goal is to connect the most emotional, raw, human parts of myself with people all over the planet through the power of music."
