“Follow your music instict and you’ll find “Loi”. The Commercial sound that nobody should miss is already out. We just couldn’t resist in this exuberant voice and the strongly emotional lyrics. All revealing a high level of production.”

There are certain voices, that really make you listen and, if you aren’t already comfortably seated, simply knock you off of your feet. That is what you can expect when you let Loi into your ears for the first time. Be warned: you will want more.

Loi, also known as Leonie Greiner, has been impressing musical greats such as Sasha, Mark Forster, Ed Sheeran and Nena at the tender age of 14. Her powerful voice, dark tone and incredible range carried her into the final of „The Voice Kids“ 2017 and now at 18 is starting her own grand adventure in music.

Her debut single „I follow“, which will be available from April 2nd, 2021 has already convinced the makers of the successful Film-Saga „Ostwind“ to secure it as the title song for their newest movie adventure.

The dynamic ballad „I follow“ beautifully showcases Loi ́s impressive voice and incomparable emotional range, modulation easily included. The sparse instrumentation places Loi ́s voice in the foreground and she easily transforms the piece into a true pop hymn.

When asked about her intentions for the song Loi explains: „For me I follow is about music. I just follow the music. For others it can be a love song, intended for a loved one.“ With „I follow“ Loi has shown her love for music in the most impressive fashion. And this is just the beginning.

Wit Blu, GEO – One Phone Call (Spotify)

“I found myself immediately drawn to Wit’s charming, seductive, yet somehow innocent vocal. A song full of soul & heartache. An emotional message about losing a loved one to the prison system, & how poor life choices can have such a devastating effect on all concerned. A beautiful song of loss, healing & hope.”

-Nagamag.com

LA based Wit Blu is a soul pop singer and songwriter who began releasing music in 2017. Wit specializes in emotional lyrics paired with soulful pop and trip hop beats.

On her latest release "One Phone Call", Wit Blu creates a personal song that talks candidly about dealing with a loved one trapped in the prison system. She says of the song, "I wrote 'One Phone Call' at a time when I was feeling hopeless about the situation. I was thinking about how we are all the same, we are all human, but because of life choices and the unjust justice system, I live my life free while others are locked in a cage, sometimes indefinitely. I wrote this song to heal. I am releasing this song in hopes it will help other people going through it."

The song is a collaboration with producer GEO, a well known chill hop artist in his own right. "One Phone Call" is out April 9 on Blanket Fort.

Kaya May – I Wish I Could Love You (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Deeply emotional single with the revealing artistry of singer and songwriter "Kaya May". Sit back and prepare for a mesmerizing Lounge break. Very sophisticated waves of sound accompanied by the artist's silvery voice and those clearly expressive lyrics. Highly recommended.”

-Nagamag.com

Kaya May shared with us behind the inspiration of this song:

"I wrote this about a concept I honestly have never heard in a song before - wishing you could love someone back. I met a guy on the internet, spontaneously decided to do a roadtrip across the country with him having never met before, and learned so much about him and myself along the way. I learned that I have a habit of confusing happiness with love, and that's the first line of the song. I received an overwhelming response from people expressing that they could relate to the song, and I'd like to give as many people as possible the opportunity to connect."

SMWN – Do Over (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Nobody is perfect, but we can choose to try hard. Who hasn't thought to go back in time and fix some mistakes? The key for improvement is the knowledge that comes from self-evaluation and (why not) the right song to push you in the right direction!”

-Nagamag.com

Meet SMWN (pronounced 'someone') the new creative project of viral artist Prince Fox, known for working alongside household names like Hailee Steinfeld, Bella Thorne, Quinn XCII, YG, Ella Vos and more. From Rick Rubin tweeting his remix of Florence and the Machine, to being the number one artist on Billboard's Emerging Artists list, Prince Fox has seen quite a remarkable few years. Now SMWN has rebranded and branched out of the 'dance drops' he's known for in his past releases to release music with a message.

https://www.instagram.com/smwnsongs/

The upcoming "Do Over" is a contagious pop track which follows the release of SMWN's successful debut track "Somebody Else," which set the tone for the new project.

In "Do Over" a viral bass-line ushers you in, complimented by flawless electronic production and SMWN's distinct pop vocals. On the narrative front, SMWN reflects on all the times he wishes he could get a 'do over.' The relatable "I wanna be someone better, can I go back in time," rings loud and clear and is an ode to existence and the inevitable mistakes we make. It's one thing to say we'll do better but action is where the truth lies.

https://twitter.com/smwnsongs

On the single SMWN adds "When I wrote "Do Over" I was thinking about how even if I told my younger self what I know now, I would have made the same mistakes. I wouldn't be the person I am today without those road bumps, so those road bumps HAD to happen. The writing became this very circular idea of a self-fulfilling prophecy–every time I messed up and wanted a do over, the same thing would happen again. All this to say, all we can really change is our future, based on our past actions, we can not change the past itself."

The New York-born and bred Sam Lassner first picked up a guitar at the age of seven but quickly gave it up for life on the ice rink. "It wasn't until I was 13 that I picked it back up and caught the bug," he shares. Lassner went on to study music at NYU where his Prince Fox project was born in his dorm room at Lafayette Hall. The Prince Fox project opened several doors for Lassner and led to collaborations with several notable artists shaping the type of artist he strives to emulate.

SMWN is a culmination of those experiences, lessons, and growth as an artist. Lassner puts his best foot forward with his SMWN project which is teed up to quickly eclipse that of Prince Fox in the years to come.

Forrest Run – Dream (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , |

“Set against a background of gated atmospheric pads and a solid hip hop beat, the deep flowing bass lines, blend nicely with the catchy & pleasantly rhythmic chordal guitar work. The ariose, charismatic & captivating vocals of Ayla will have you reaching for the play it again button.”

-Nagamag.com

Bringing together a brilliant blend of flowing organic sounds with gritty electronica, Forrest Run’s bouncy, effervescent pop is laced with dark mystery.

Pushing out a sound bigger than acts twice their size, this quirky trio lay out atmospheric beds, with massive hip hop beats, along with vocalist Ayla’s saccharine melodies being the cherry on top.

For an act that has only been around since 2019, Forrest Run have matured sonically since their debut release, with the upcoming single displaying a darker, larger sound, while still retaining the catchy pop hooks the act have become known for.

While the debut EP was centred around falling apart, expect the upcoming release to pick up the pieces and move forward, while giving hints reminiscent of London Grammar, Naked & Famous, and Vallis Alps.

We have heard the future of electronic hip-pop, and that sound is Forrest Run.

“We know what is in your music collections of songs that lift you up, and the new single -Mindless- is one of them. The pulsating rhythm of nu-disco, expressive bass line and the authentic sound of a drum machine making this joyful. ”

“Мы знаем, что есть в ваших музыкальных коллекциях композиции, которые поднимают вам настроение и новый сингл -Mindless- один из них. Пульсирующий ритм nu-disco, выразительная басовая линия и аутентичный звук драм-машины.”

Australia has such a rich pedigree of indie electronic acts and Kayex represent a new generation. Their music has that perfect fusion of pumping club tones and rock cool. Having already graced festival stages and garnered millions of streams, lifelong friends Palassi Kailis and Tom Derickx are maturing as an act and as songwriters.

Early this year, Tom and Palassi unexpectedly met urban street dancing pioneer Darrio Phillips. Captivated by his energy, Phillips became the motive for the new Kayex single Mindless, which takes listeners on a journey through the eyes of a man who lived in an era where dance ruled the world; “....Inspired by his never-growing-up attitude, we wrote Mindless. Though the song is written about a fictional character, we believe the piece is a depiction of Darrio's exciting mindset and attitude towards life.” Romantically textured with elements of robo-rock and disco over a powerful house groove, Mindless is an effortless amalgam by an act who have truly found their feet.

-Nagamag.com

Artist shared few words behind this inspiration about this song”

“Seven weeks after a heartbreaking breakup, this song came out basically in one pour. Although at first there wasn‘t more than a bassline and a voice, the essence and honesty of the song was already there and never changed throughout the process of the following production.

‘7 Years’ is a song I just needed to write and it helped me get through a rough couple of months. It’s very dear to me. I think most people can relate in one way or another. Things fall apart from time to time and we need to find a way to deal with it. This was my way and I’m glad to share it with you today.” – Fitz Brothers
