Just Some Sound – Lion&Panther

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , |

“When you listen to this melody of the acoustic guitar and the voice of the performer in the shower bloom of the gardens of flowers. Notes, like petals from roses, fall to your feet and you are drowning in their ocean, you feel how something sings, tickles and vibrates something inside. This is talking to you your heart. Listen to him.” (Automatically Translated with Google Translate)

“Когда слушаешь эту мелодию акустической гитары и голос исполнителя в душе расцветают сады из цветов. Ноты словно лепестки из роз падают к вам в ноги и вы утопая в их океане чувствуете, как внутри что-то поёт, щекочет и вибрирует. Это с вами разговаривает ваше сердце. Прислушайтесь к нему.”

“Whatever important role in our lives plays money, music is always and will remain the most important and possibly the only way to solve all pressing issues. Listen to the new track -fuzzy Sun- and you will understand how important it is in your life.” (Automatically Translated with Google Translate)

“Какую бы важную роль в нашей жизни не играл деньги, музыка всегда была и останется самым главным и, возможно единственным способом, чтобы решить все насущные вопросы. Послушайте новый трек -Fuzzy Sun- и вы поймёте, как важна она в вашей жизни.”

Lifted from the EP today is lead new single, 'Money'. The glam-tinged alt-rock number - replete

with ultra-modern electronic undertones - showcases the band's colossal strength as merchants of

raw emotion. This is music to file alongside the likes of Leeds band The Music, Inhaler, and Doves.

Avoiding keeping things overly sweet and psychedelic, the song encases some dark lyrics in its

effervescent sonics. Frontman Kyle Ross cathartically lays into capitalism and the pains he feels it

causes.

"Hey Sonny yeah money's gonna kill your soul" is the key line which inspired the song," says the

singer.

"We all seem to be chasing money and material things. And I think it leaves us empty and

unfulfilled. Despite that, it's just so ingrained in us as a society and it prevails.

Helping ram home the sentiment in the lyrics is the palpable sense of disaffection in the singer's

rabble-rousing voice.

Kyle is the band's spokesperson and de facto leader of Fuzzy Sun. That said, the three-piece band

are very much a unit - a tight live band - and came together to write and record this EP. Like a chef

making a reduction, the band sifted through a catalogue of nearly 30 songs to get to the potent four

tracks that made the cut for their upcoming EP.

That expansive, arena-shaking feel to their sound was helped as they recorded the drums at EVE

studio, where the likes of Metronomy, Everything Everything and The Charlatans have recorded.

The rest of the instrumentation was recorded at their home studio in Stockport and they

self-produced four "big tunes you can really sink your teeth into" (Kyle Ross).

The upcoming EP follows on from their acclaimed self-released EP, Since The Dog Died, which

was released in 2021. Even without label backing, but through determined work ethic and the

strength of their live shows, the rising rockers have opened for some major UK artists, toured

Europe and had sell-out shows across the U.K.

The success thus far is not without thanks to music journalists and broadcasters that have been

championing them along the way. Support from NME’s 100 List, CLASH, DORK, Earmilk, Gigwise,

BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, Radio X and Spotify’s New Music Friday UK and Hot New Bands

playlists - to name a few - has been a dream foundation for the band, who have sky high ambitions

and the talent to match.

Calling Cadence – California Bartender (Acoustic)

“"Calling Cadence" take us to California for a drink with good mood and music too. This single features some Classic Rock air from past decades and elements of Americana sound. A surely interesting combination for experienced listeners.”

-Nagamag.com

Los Angeles’s Calling Cadence return with an acoustic take on their hit single “California Bartender” for their upcoming Acoustic Session Vol. 1 collection, out October 8th via hi-res records. Presenting a series of vignettes about bar patrons singing their sorrows at the bottom side of their glass, Calling Cadence’s Rae Cole and Oscar Bugarin capture a unique, reflective atmosphere through a number of lenses: classic Americana soul, Laurel Canyon inspired harmonies, and late 70s rock. “Woah, this life, this life ain't easy / Might be your turn this time / Or next life,” sings Cole overtop of Bugarin’s soulful strumming.

Iskwe and Tom Wilson – Mother Love

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , |

“A deep track in the americana genre with a very charismatic vocals -tom Wilson- and with no less atmospheric name. Voice - ISKWE is very beautifully in harmony and accompanies the leading vocals. The music is calm and even and does not distract from the most important thing - the text.” (Automatically Translated with Google Translate)

“Глубокий трек в жанре Americana с очень харизматичным вокалом -Tom Wilson- и с не менее атмосферным названием. Голос - Iskwe очень красиво гармонирует и аккомпанирует лидирующего вокалу. Музыка спокойная и ровная и не отвлекает от самого главного — текста.”

Our Violet Room – Falling

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“The well -built sound balance, the atmosphere of Indie Rock is transmitted and recreated very well, passes the listener all his depth. The track is suitable for both lone wanderers and a mental company and will not leave anyone indifferent.” (Automatically Translated with Google Translate)

“Грамотно выстроенный баланс звука, атмосфера Indie Rock передана и воссоздана очень хорошо, передаёт слушателю всю свою глубину. Трек подойдёт как одиноким странникам, так и душевной компании и не оставит никого равнодушным.”

-Nagamag.com

With indie rock sensibilities and thoughtful candor, Our Violet Room’s “Falling” is a deceivingly upbeat song about the pain of heartbreak. “Falling,” which is the fifth single released in anticipation for Our Violet Room’s (Matthew Birch) debut album, shares the details of a crumbled relationship. Singing through his emotions, Birch is honest about where he’s at after the breakup. He bares all his confusion and pain upfront and attempts to deal with it. He explains that the song was about “talking [himself] through the end of a relationship,” and by engaging in “self-talk” through the song, he was able to move on. In the chorus he sings, “So let the past be past and move ahead to the dreams that you have dreamt inside your head. You say that I’m falling, and I’m falling over you.” Despite this being his most upbeat indie-rock song, Birch doesn’t derive from the cinematic twist characteristic of his music. In the bridge, right when it sounds like the song might end, Birch brings listeners back in with the sound of horns and a driving percussion. In this way, it’s as if he’s sonically signaling a brighter future in which he can move forward from the pain. While he repeats the chorus once more, there’s a change in tone to what Birch is singing as he admits in the end that although he was falling, now he’s “here to say, I’m over you.” Finding empowerment and a new stride, the song ends on a positive and peaceful note. “Falling” is the fifth track off of Birch's upcoming debut album, Not Where I Thought I’d Be. The 7-track album chronologically details the story of a relationship from its bright beginnings to its bitter end.

Jessica Smucker – War of Attrition

Categories: Audio, Rock, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“When there are feelings in music that are reflected in melodies, vocals and text, then instantly transmit the entire energy message to their listener. -Jessica Smucker- wrote a very powerful and sincere composition with a living accompaniment and coped with its task 100%!” (Automatically Translated with Google Translate)

“Когда в музыке есть чувства, которые отражены в мелодии, вокале и тексте, то мгновенно передают весь энергетический посыл своему слушателю. -Jessica Smucker- написала очень мощную и душевную композицию с живым аккомпанементом и справилась со своей задачей на все 100%!”

-Nagamag.com

http://jessicasmucker.com/

Jessica Smucker believes that the best way to change the world is to channel our pain into connection. Her songs have a way of reaching deeply into people's souls and inviting the kind of reflection that feels both reassuring and unsettling. Wrapped in catchy melodies, her lyrics appear simple and relatable on the surface, but each listen will uncover more hidden pockets of nuance. She's the kind of writer and performer who can lull a noisy room into a hush with a single line.

Although Jessica cares deeply about big picture issues like social justice, she tends to write about life's more intimate moments. How it feels to walk through an empty house after love has left it. The difference between carrying a child in the womb and mothering them in the world outside. The particular ways a happy marriage can slide into decline. The simultaneous rush and terror of falling in love. The way humans can hunger for things (like peace on earth, or god) we don't even believe in. The tricks and techniques we all use to shield ourselves from the kinds of knowledge that might lead to pain.

Jessica is based in Lancaster, PA, very near the tiny rural town of Bird-in-Hand where she grew up. Two of her grandparents were born Amish, and she was raised in the Mennonite faith tradition - by a family full of storytellers, activists, adventurers, and pranksters. Although her town was small, the bigger world never seemed out of reach. She felt empowered to engage and explore it.

Jessica has toured nationwide, and performs regularly throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern U.S. She has opened for Cheryl Wheeler, Susan Werner, Bill Staines, and James Felice (Felice Brothers), shared billing with Heather Maloney, Meghan Trainor, and the Stray Birds, and performed in notable venues like the Tin Angel (Philadelphia), Godfrey Daniels (Bethlehem, PA), The Cellar Stage (Baltimore), Steel City Coffeehouse (Phoenixville, PA), World Cafe Live (Philadelphia), Muses in the Vineyard (Belvidere, NJ), Musikfest (Bethlehem, PA), and 30A Songwriters Festival (Santa Rosa Beach, FL). She has won or placed in numerous national songwriting contests including SolarFest's Singer/Songwriter Showcase Competition, the Connecticut Folk Festival Song Competition, and the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest.

Her discography spans from 2008-2022 and includes two EPs, three full-length albums, and a handful of singles. The Sleeping World (2008), a self-titled EP released by Jessica's first rock band, was recorded by Seventh Wave Studio in Harrisburg, PA. 2010 saw two releases, both recorded in Lancaster, PA basement studios: Reluctantly Yours (EP), a stripped-down acoustic recording featuring mostly piano, violins, and banjo; and This Broken Moment (LP), a full-band album released as Jessica Smucker & The Sleeping World. It wasn't until she started working with producer Chad Kinsey in 2012 that Jessica really found her stride as a recording artist. Tumbling After (2014) was produced by Kinsey and features bassist Mike Bitts (The Innocence Mission), drummer Paul Murr (Jeffrey Gaines, Fauna Flora, Jackie Evancho), and guest vocals by Heather Maloney (appearing courtesy of Signature Sounds Recordings) and Keith Wilson (Movies With Heroes). Lucid Stories, Tentative Lies, recorded with the same production team, dropped in October 2020, followed by an irreverent Christmas single, "Let's Get a Tree" in December of that year. Since then she has released four singles - "Dinosaurs" (August 2021), "Rose of Jericho" (October 2021), "Stones to Throw" (February 2022), and "Phoenix" (March 2022) - towards a full-length album, After the Meteor, forthcoming in 2023.

In her life beyond music Jessica is a published poet and essayist, a social justice warrior, freakishly good at Scrabble, and mother to two of the smartest people she's ever met in real life.

Skinny Dippers – Past Selves

“The ringing and rustle of percussion, the vibrations of guitar strings and the atmosphere of the classic indie rock. There is nothing impossible, everything is achievable and everything, it would seem, invisible faces of the unknown has long been blurred. There was only music -Skinny Dippers-, which accompanies you at this very second.” (Automatically Translated with Google Translate)

“Звон и шелест перкуссии, вибрации гитарных струн и атмосфера классического Indie Rock. Нет ничего невозможного, всё достижимо и все, казалось бы, невидимые грани непознанного уже давно размыты. Осталась лишь музыка -Skinny Dippers-, которая сопровождает вас в эту самую секунду.”

-Nagamag.com

Past Selves is the final single from Skinny Dipper's debut album The Town & The City. The song uses the second person perspective to think about all of the different versions of ourselves and how we change over time. The protagonist looks back on the wild memories from his younger days, but realizes he's outgrown the shenanigans and in retrospect they just seem like silly distractions.
